When people starts buying it

But it already exists. ufotable.

I dunno but GG looks alright.

niceme.me

...

Dizzy laid an egg.

when they have trained enough animator to be this good

youtube.com/watch?v=yhGjCzxJV3E

Some of the cut scenes in Revelator Story mode are 3D Sakuga

As soon as they realize that 12 fps anime doesn't look very good.

GG has a mostly fixed camera angle, makes it a lot easier

Xrd games are worth their price because you get the equivalent of one cour of anime along with the fighting game.

>Anime CG looks bad because it's the same framerate as 2D
when will this meme die

Most anime are basically a fixed camera

it works for anime, therefore it will also work for anime.

OP is obviously talking about a full 3DCG anime which ufotable has not done and will likely never do.

Expelled from Paradise was pretty good.

Is Guilty Gear the only good anime-esque CG?

Mechanical objects are working quite well already.

Is what Arcsys doing a trade secret? I would have expected craploads of games trying to ape the aesthetic.

...

Valkyria Chronicles and BlazBlue are pretty good animesque games too.

No, they just put in a lot of effort. like hand-tweaking models frame by frame in some cases, watch That would be too much effort for a weekly anime production. It probably needs more automation and a toolbox of common tricks to be developed to crank out new episodes fast enough.

BB is 2D

New GANTZ actually looks really good

>FB_IMG
>video game
>anime CG
Sup Forums-kun, please try harder.

That's photorealistic CG, presumably OP is talking about manga style animation

cant they just cut down the Frame Rate? its anime. 23 should be enough and save em costs

I mean, getting the 1st models will be hard. after that get some monkey to do the posing

GG actualy has multiple models per character.

Just moving the skeleton is not the same as doing perspective-specific adjustments to the mesh.

And if berserk demonstrates anything then having monkies posing the model leads to horrible results.

You also have to consider that not all anime have characters with a single signature outfit, so you have to do the model more than once.

The only one I've actually enjoyed so far is Expelled from Paradise.

>gif

>Just lower the frame-rate
The common frame-rate for CG is 12 fps and goes even lower sometimes.
It looks like shit.

>Monkey posing
Oh yeah and then you get the shit where they look like marionettes instead of having fluid animation.

>non Arrpeguio
>non Bubuki buranki
pleb

GG highly modified current engines and shit. even when the overall workload would be higher than a game. technical will be easier. imo. as dont have to deal with engine stuff 60 FPS

>Oh yeah and then you get the shit where they look like marionettes instead of having fluid animation.
watch the vidio you Duffus

When anime is about 1-2 minute shorts and a small pool of fighting game animations instead of 12-24 24 minute episodes.

>GG highly modified current engines and shit
Most of that got merged into the latest releases of Unreal.

How are they able to make the facial expressions here so natural and lifelike?

youtube.com/watch?v=KZi0neoZJfM

There's no other 3d scene that comes close.

I think one good thing they're doing with the CGI on Expelled was the facial expressions of the characters.

It's so interesting even the character select screen are pictures of 3D models

Something about the motion in Arpeggio just set me off. I couldn't watch it.
I tried looking for a webm, but I got too impatient...

>watch the vidio you Duffus
NO

the body movements are done with mocap. but the faces are presumably done frame by frame.

>anime characters
>natural
>lifelike
you're funny

Yes, natural and lifelike. A lot of Mikey Mouse appearances move naturally and lifelike too.

I used to blindly hate on the slightest hint of 3DCG in anime
But an user posted this in another thread
youtu.be/HhwXxjiqDEU

While i still believe hand drawn can't be replaced, 3DCG definitely has a place in anime when done right

I would be willing to believe that the faces are animated 2D and then grafted onto the characters either through some texture thing during animation or in post on a blank face.

Doesn't look like 3D mouth or eyes.

So Etotama?

i want to rest my head between those thighs

your belief is misplaced.

I still cringe at CG crowd backgrounds mixed in with normal animation.
They just don't look right..

Was that made by Gainax? Had some FLCL similarities in there

They should use hand drawn animation for faces and cg for the body. They could use 23 fps and interpolate the hand drawn shots like live2d does. It looks pretty good.

That looks way too good holy shit, super smooth too.

Anime models with default lighting always look creepy as fuck.

That's more or less what live2d offers. they put 2d vector graphics for onto a 3d mesh and then let you tweak the 2d surface. and automatically switch between different 2d ones depending on the camera.

got a link for the whole video? Where is that from?

it's in the metadata

Good god that looks creepy as fuck.

youtu.be/4D8DuxYUTYQ

They went all out with Dizzy's animations

what?

>mp3 tags
>jpeg exif
same shit, just for webm.

Are there any examples of 3D Animation that is pulled well for simple SoL scenes?

youtube.com/watch?v=9SXn3_taPJ4
Expelled from paradise had some really neat actions scenes, but when it comes to "classic movements like how the tanned guy moves at the start of the movie it looks fucking terrible.

>your belief is misplaced.
Technically I was half right, there are flat textures (nose, lidfold etc.) used to enhance the cartoon look.

>german dub

Is that a bonus available in the movie BR? Can't seems to find it with the title.

...

youtube.com/watch?v=nGl_2gYrfM0

> those FPS
> that blocky animation

Looks terrible.

Why does 3D animation generally look less smooth than 2D? Shouldn't it be the opposite?

That's some mad good animation, but realistic CG is still a completely different topic.

yes, it's in several torrents. but since nyaa doesn't have a file search, open wide:

nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=792236&showfiles=1

>Good Anime
>CG
Pick one. I don't watch Anime because I want to watch low budget video game cutscenes.

Didn't Etotama achieve this.

Intentionally low fps. If they do any frame by frame manual work it keeps the amount of work low. And doing high-fps motion interpolation would probably look totally wrong.

It was mostly 2d. 3d scenes used chibis, which are a lot easier to animate.

Those child birthed hips.

yes, but she got laid by an egghead

She lays eggs user

I didn't know biology works that way.

I remember back in the day I heard a rumour that Dizzy's designers admitted she was intended to appeal to hentai artists.
Kinda doubt it was true, but it always made me smile that they were thinking of them

She's not even human. Ky fucked a monster girl

clearly she must have descended from a platypus

>Guilty Gear
>good 3D
It looks shit compared to the sprite-based games.

bubuki buranki looked pretty decent

>anime
>natural
>lifelike

youtu.be/NnB4eYHcZmQ

>in some cases
The video said it's ALL cases. All the animations are keyframe animated.

Nah. Ishiwatari is extremely pure

That stunning sprite and animation quality

Yeah, better than the garbage in the OP.

>End of Eva videotapes in the store
Heh

Whatever you say buddy

youtu.be/s8-ncTdoqkM?t=12

I want you to die.

Tasteless nigger detected.

>TFW still remember BlazBlue anime

CG that is not like 15 frames per second.

Yamato 2199 already perfected it, cg for vehicles unless there's a human in the shot then it's hand drawn.

Never, hopefully. CG animation has ruined Disney for me. I'd probably stop watching anime if CG really started to dominate.

that's for the fight animation, i don't think they meant the cutscenes

>When will the era of good anime CG come?
When the moon is in the seventh house

i liked sidonia, fit the manga art style too

the shading was shit, especially on their suits
