>you will never protect Ichi

>They use Japanese honorifics in a European setting rather than properly localize.

This is the nastiest shit I've read, just thinking about it makes me uneasy somehow

>the subtitles color changes depending on which character is speaking at that time

Good. Art should make you feel.

...

>TLnote

C'mon, Ichi is the fucking GOAT

You don't like this?

This. This gets me so fucking mad.
>Knight-dono will protect villager-san and child-chan!
It fucking boils my blood.

...

God this pisses me off so much
>Watching some random show
>Characters playing mahjong
>one of them says "Riichi"
>half the screen is a tl note explaining what riichi is and the rules of mahjong

It's a weird feeling finding this thread in the catalog, I'm reading it right now at chapter 87, it's the first manga that made me uneasy. gave this weird feeling in feet, like blood flowing away

>like blood flowing away
Was it concentrating in your crotch?

>animated lyrics in the op

...

>Subtitle is normal throughout the show, then is suddenly stylized whenever they feel like it
>especially with an unreadable font

It's time to stop

You smug motherfucker
Want to find out?

Kaiji S3 has happened?

>I'm a normal high school student
>he is a 6'5, delinquent, honor student
>she is the daughter of a billion-air, a top beauty, scored top 5 in the national test, kind, athletic, everyone loves her, and secreatly perverted

or what makes my blood boil
>character says something serious or sentimental.
>c..character-san........

...

That one group that subbed MM! did it perfectly though. I feel like it slightly enhanced the experience. As a matter of fact, it's one of my favorite anime, but it was also one of my first, so I may be a little biased here.

seriously. Fuck off to

I like it. It makes me feel like in good ol' times.

Once the music man gets out of weed jail

>unreadable
if thats unreadable then your fucked for collage user

What the hell did you say about my collage?

The Planetes anime was far less culturally broad than the manga.

The instances of everyone referring to their senior as senpai was mental.

you first, cross boarding scum. don't try to derail the thread with your faggotry.

Yellow subs are actually disguesting to look at

two fiddy?

Why did they happen in the first place? What bootleg subber thought it was a good idea?

kek

>come inside
What did she mean by this?

Yellow subs are love, yellow subs are life

Had to do with the way certain colors worked on VHS. Yellow as a color remained the most distinct and less broken up the more you copied tapes (from second to third and so on generations), so the subs could stay readable for longest.

>they convert Yen to USD in the subs

>Yellow subs are love, yellow subs are life

That's actually kind of interesting

Yeah I agree. I think it's the overall bleak setting that makes it really tough to read, I'm phlegmatic when it comes to usual guro or stuff like Shamo but Ichi is a classic for a reason.

>Kissanime

It works

>"Character only audibly goes "Hm."
>subber subs "I understand."

>Character obviously says "Konnichiwa"
>Subbers put in "Good afternoon"

>The instances of everyone referring to their senior as senpai was mental.
In the manga or the anime?

I know, I just wanted to type two fiddy. I swear 4 kids used to change things to dollars.

Anime, it was pretty batshit and over the top for something so internationally minded.

Good ol' hardsubs

But it's a comedy. The "romantic" part at the end gives it away. Also: the brain problems twins and the guy vomiting on the necrophiliac.

There's some graphic shit, but I don't think Ichi is unique with that.

>the default is the English dub rather than the Japanese sub
y

they're not wrong

>I insisted that he come inside

>Character says something
>They forgot to sub it

I don't mind if it's multiple people trying to speak at once

>Multiple people talking at the same time
>Subs go immediately over each other and you can't tell who says what

>small sentences here and there are missing subtitles, including punchlines to jokes
>no other subtitles available, since they are the official ones

>rageface
Kill yourself.

>tfw this is the only way to watch Now and Then, Here and There

>subs go over each other
>new line starts
>subs switch positions
I accidentally did this once and no one ever called me out.

>Typeset OP/ED
>With romanji, kana, and english lyrics
Shame its so rare nowadays

I hear the manga was actually pretty mindful of keeping the Japanisms to Hachi and Ai.

>it's a comedy
Haha, you made me laugh.

>Slightly mistimed subs

...

fucking vobsub

I need a link to that fansub documentary

>subtitles use an edgy font
>untranslated german in the script
>edgy font lacks umlaut

>[Final8]Hellsing Ultimate I (BD 10-bit 1920x1080 x264 FLAC 5.1)[B7E12906].mkv_snapshot.jpg

Practically never then.
Japan has weedphobia or something. He'll rot in his cell.

Opium wars did that to the East, though I find it comical that America thinks Tokyo is some sort of LSD haven thanks to a couple of movies whereas in reality even smoking cigarettes when you're not 20 labels you as a delinquent with no future.

The composer has literally nothing to do about whether or not Kaiji getting a S3 or not.
You'll get a S3 once they decide to make another movie.

Now there's people who don't even sub the OP/ED
>even smoking cigarettes when you're not 20 labels you as a delinquent with no future.
Sounds rough. What a shitty place to live.

This actually pissed me off so much. The font is barely fucking readable.

>Mr. user
>user-san

MAKE UP YOUR MIND

>character says coffee
>pot on the screen has coffee written on it
>sub says tea

>character says "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?"
>subtitle say "What?!"

Yellow subs did nothing wrong.

>The composer has literally nothing to do about whether or not Kaiji getting a S3 or not.
I don't know. The OST was a big part in the Kaiji experience.

youtube.com/watch?v=1vv_u00Yk6w

I love the music as well. But that doesn't mean they're stopping themselves from making a new season just because the composer is missing. The Akagi drama for exemple had a new one, which also did great.

>"Let's eat gohan!"
>TL note: Gohan means meal

Just translate it then, you piece of shit

There's no other way to explain the progression of the final fight. Not unless you want to get DEEP.

Whoever made that has god-like taste.

That's actually a really good reason. I kinda feel like an asshole now...

>They leave out the Japanese on the OP.

>character says a word in English
>subs use a synonym for that word

>kysanime

In what situation would someone say "Let's eat meal"

Does that make sense in any language?

When a retard tries to translate jap to english directly, word for word.

"Let's eat a meal", or "let's eat", or "let's eat something" would all work.

Clearly he and his antagonist have set aside their differences, they are about to engage in a flanking maneuver.

Will he ever be allowed to work even if he does get out?

So what even happens in the end? I stopped where he made one his soldier fuck the dead junkie

I actualy love yellow subtitles. It reminds me of my old bootleg hvs. Besides, in non-english land, most movies have yellow or white subtitles.

Multiple characters' subs at once done right
>Inb4 kill yourself anime

This is understandable sometimes because some English they use are loan words. They don't really mean the exact same thing as they would in English.

Although for the life of me I can't think of many instances.

The placing is right but coloring seems like it's pushing it.

Like just do one or the other.
