I took a look at the manga adaptation sometime ago. Seems like this is basically a battle royal between magical girls. The girls literally fight and kill each other for some kind of reward at the end.
Oh, and that one with the sword on the left is a trap.

It's literally a mobile game plot so I guess it's an advertisement for an upcoming game.

It's a LN adaptation, user. There's also a manga version on one of the kirara magazine. It's not that rare for magical girls to use smart phones nowadays.

The mobile game is just a plot device. It started off as a light novel, which has the mobile game as a plot device despite there being no mobile game.

Technically it's an advertising of the novel if anything, but they might make a tie-in mobile game now that it's getting an anime, who knows.

I'd like to say Brave Witches but then I realized that it has a completely different cast.

But I think it has enough of an established fanbase that it'll probably do well. And as much as I want Flip Flappers to do well I want it to sell like shit just because calling it Flip Floppers is too funny of an opportunity to pass up.

Calling it Flip Floppers is a really unoriginal joke that has been milked to death for months since the moment it was announced. It would be better if it was a surprise hit and kept everyone from going for such low hanging fruit.

The only thing it has going for it is that they got Gochiusa director, but I doubt Gochiusa fans will eat up something about cute grills murdering each other.

Looks like only the first LN will be adapted. There's hope that it won't be as rushed, with more backstories and build up to deaths.

Nah, the only one who would do it is Calamity Mary but as far as I remember it was never shown. Which is strange since everything else is so edgy.
