90's anime suggestions/discussion

So I'm rewatching some early series that I enjoyed.

I rewatched all of EVA with the new GF and it kinda started me on a roll.
So far today I've watched Blue Seed, Betterman, Birdy the Mighty, I've seen many of the big names such as Akira and a few other big ones. Any suggestions? Also other than the recent dubs having better voice actors, why does new anime blow so much dicks?

Infinite Ryvius

Brief synopsis would be greatly appreciated fellas.
Also mecha is god-tier.

I know Sup Forums hates it but cowboy bebop really is good, you should give it a try

Thanks for the suggestion but I suppose I should have already marked that one down.
I'm an avid fan.
I'm sorry to hear that /a hates it, I believe it to be one of the more easily understood for western audiences.

...

>why does new anime blow so much dicks?
Because you haven't seen much anime?

Legend of the Blue Wolves
Manly tears inducing mecha OVA that was unfortunately never continued.

I just watched Harmageddon: Genma Taisen and it was fucking awesome.

it starts out like Akira and ends up like Captain Planet, it's beautiful and it's impressive.

this thread states sugg/discussion and no one has answered my question. I'll start, I feel like a western production team and writer should team up with Gainax to bring something new to the table. Anime has been a pretty heavy influence on American cinema for a while now and I feel like it would do a world of help to the industry if there were some more western story-archs written into some of these studios productions. Current anime is really hard for most westerners to 'get' and even some of the shows im sure I understand sound completely different when "synopsized?" by other people.

Fuck off desu

That sounds really impressive, I'll make a note.
That's too bad, I'll also take note.

Just because you add the word discussion doesn't make it not a request thread.
There are anime discussion threads on /wsr/ every day.

Gainax is dead and all the talent left
Westerners aren't the main audience for anime

Fucking newfags

They're becoming a growing market and anyone can tell you. New demographics are a good thing

Also I bought my first copy of Akira on VHS at Suncoast

know your role

90s was the worst decade in anime desu

Another thing, it seems like Gendo and Ritsuko's english voice actors voiced 90% of all scientific leads pre 2005

they rarely are
In anime's case they might be, since WE are this hypothetical audience, but that's all

What are they going to do, spend over 100 dollars to import a two episode BD?
Nobody even buys movies these days. People just stream it now.

More mature Lord of the Flies with mecha

it wasn't and this picture is not representative of 90s anime

I:D 2000 and on has been nothing but slice of life. Oh and Titan... which really sucks. -bracing for shitstorm-

Lurk more before posting, your writing style is embarrassing.

>this thread states sugg/discussion and no one has answered my question
Tacked on at the end. Fuck off newfag. If you just lurked you wouldn't have such shit taste, there's your suggestion. 2 years minimum

pic related. sageru

Not seeing any suggestions from the hate...
Guess the peanut gallery is a bunch of titan fans

My hate for the new stuff mainly flows from the lack of water color backgrounds and constant fan service.
