Eh, I think it's going a bit far to say that they couldn't possibly have had sex without DIO losing respect for Pucci. I mean, they shared a bed together, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to say that they did so in more ways than one.
In some ways I think DIO could have respected Pucci more if he wound up making a move on him, there's only so much admiration you can have for some hormone-riddled teen furiously trying to will his boner for you away.
Note that I'm not even saying that I think they did fuck, but that it seems as though it was meant to be up to the readers interpretation. A scene where they smooch or a scene where Pucci refused DIO's advances would've cemented one side or the other, but since we didn't get one it could've gone either way.

It's pretty do-able to split Okuyasu into episodes. They'd probably have to 'kill' him near the end of the first and then bring him back around the middle of the one after it if they wanted to pull it off.
