Discord is just a platform. It is what you make of it. I'm in a server with people I have know for a few years that is small with 30 people. It's quite comfy. Other large servers with hundreds of people are usually shitty but are good for spreading info and pics. If there are too many people, the voice chat becomes useless with morons talking over each other.
