What artist has the best spreads?
What artist has the best spreads?
tokyo ghoul
...
Fucking dinosaurs
Mizukami Satoshi. Also, thinly veiled rec threads?
...
this guy a mistery for me. He puts so much attention to the background and so little to the characters.
And the food.
Agreed
hentai artists
He can draw well, but he can't keep up the quality of his drawings at all when on a schedule.
Good. You win.
All Nihei's spreads are amazing, but particularly the ones in color.
Togashi is both the shittiest and most amazing artist at the same time.
...
...
Nope, he's just plain shitty.
...
My nigga.
Togashi is a good artist but when he focuses on a spread its pretty amazing
...
>Thread about good artists.
>Everyone posts weekly shounenshit.
I guess he didn't bother to draw his lower half.
You seem biased.
There's a lot of great artwork in some of those weekly shounenshits.
Not the ones posted in this thread, that's for sure.
The best
Why aren't you posting any?
what comic is this from ?
Your loss
I don't lose anything admitting these look pretty bad while still reading them i feel like it.
is he working on anything right now? i'm worried he's too old now and we're never gonna get anything after sidonia
I wager he would post something like Vagabond like that because it's "mature, detailed and realistic".
Sure thing bud. You don't have to prove anything to me.
...
...
He did a oneshot a few months ago, called Ningyou no Kuni.
Other than that, I've heard he's working on the Blame! anime, which is supposed to have an original story.
...
is this a good manga
That's the million dollar question isn't it
brutal
you're a bad person?
>dallas_chimpouts.png
6/10 it's alright
7/10 it's a nice read
That's a bit of a mess actually
not good enough
It looks better with a real scan.

Are there good artists with bad spreads?
...
I'd post something from Koume Keito but I'd have to censor it in over 50 places.
...
Kubo
I wouldn't call it best but I love the timing of this spread, really hit me out of nowhere.
What in the flying fuck, This must have taken ages.
...
...
I thought it'd be much easier to find a good Ito spread, but it was surprisingly difficult.
This story is truly dreadful.
Spreads are a shit-tier way of judging a mangaka's artistic abilities.
I couldn't decide whether to post that spread, or the one with the flying hobo.
And?
I really wish he would do more.
99% of 2016 Sup Forums barely reads anything else, so it's kind of inevitable.
I really like artists who have a sort of alternate style they switch to for spreads/impact pages. Takahashi Tsutomu's probably my favorite at that kind of thing, pic related. Those white lines Kakizaki uses are another example I really like.
That looks pretty shitty to be honest m8
To be fair it's also what's most readily available.
Tons of shounen series gets translated constantly, while it can be hard to find less popular series to read.
I really like this simple spread.
>tetsuwan girl
my nigga
Sorry to disappoint you, but I actually hate Tetsuwan Girl on the whole. It starts off already overbearing with how heavy it is on the strong women and strong Japan stuff, and then turns into an absolute clusterfuck - it and Jiraishin are Takahashi's worst. That page is just really good and the first one of his I grabbed from my folders.
>Jiraishin
I really don't get the hate.
...
It's just a bad episodic procedural. Most of the standalone cases try to create a sense of importance but wind up feeling purposeless and overconvoluted (seriously, do I need to explain how garbage and overwrought that last arc was, for example?), and the few that do have lasting impact on the whole thing are really predictable cliches like the first partner getting killed on the day his kid was born. MC is also pretty uninteresting and static (aside from being a much bigger asshole in the first chapter to try and grab readers' attention). There are like two good cases, and those are the ones with the smug edgelord girl, because her dynamic with MC was much better than the ones he had with any of the main cast.
>Tarantino remakesTheGodfather.png
Gash Bell really went far with some fights, I was surprised.
What do you mean by "far"?
Absurd situations. It was really enjoyable to read though.
with it comes to clothing Kubo is amazing but is way too damn lazy to draw backgrounds
>using Miura
but that's cheating
I have no idea what you're referring to.
>do I need to explain how garbage and overwrought that last arc was, for example?
That arc was legitimately one of the dumbest things I've ever read. It's like he just pulled as much bullshit out of his ass as he possibly come up with.
Miura is like babby first spreads though.
That's fine.
>Most of the standalone cases try to create a sense of importance but wind up feeling purposeless
You probably were reading too much into it. When I finished first volume I realized pretty much right away that's it'll be like some cop show, where cases don't really mean anything in the big picture. I agree on the last one (not counting Diablo that I didn't read), that was out of the fucking place.
>MC is also pretty uninteresting and static
He's, in a way, just like Golgo, I guess. More of a plot device, rather than a character.
I get where you're coming from with all this, but you people blow it out of proportion, like it's the worst shit ever or something.
>Four watermarks
For what reason
Can't ruin the manga just on one quadrant.
>with insane amount of details
how?
>in the big picture
Oh, that's not what I meant, obviously the standalone ones weren't contributing to a larger plot. I meant they individually felt like they were trying to have some kind of significance or point to them but didn't actually wind up with any. Shit like the German crimelord one, or the incestuous battle royale family, or the music producer who made subliminal murder messages because his mother had tried double-suicide with him as a kid, they were all bizarrely complex scenarios with no real payoff and just some nebulous posturing.
Well, first of all details =/= quality.
Anyone can make a ton details with enough time and effort. Many anons think that good art amounts to how much shit a artist can cram into a page. They often post series like Berserk, Vinland Saga or Vagabond for those reasons.
Fantastic art. Terrible, terrible story.
sengoku youko
What makes for good quality to you? I'm just curious
Quality can be a lot of things, which is why it's stupid to be hung up on shit like "amount of detail".
My personal preference is artwork with its own personality, where the personal style of the artist shines through. There's a lot of good series out there with good art, that will never interest me, since it might at well be drawn by the next guy.
It's a vague as shit answer, but honestly it's best I can give if I have talk about my own tastes.
Now now, we're not gonna argue that Vagabond is anything less than stellar here, are we?
>with no real payoff
Well, that's how he tend to write his stories, I guess?
No, but just like Berserk it attracts the worst kind of art-shitters.
