British. His dad, Reza, who was at least an evil tempered old fuck who had killed a bunch of people even before he took over the country, was trying to stay neutral at the start of WWII.
This wasn't good enough for the British, so they and the Soviets invaded and split the place, installing Mohammed the eldest son of old Reza as the new shah.
Then he got nearly removed from power by his prime minister, a barely closeted Communist name of Mossadegh, in 1952. Not wanting a potential Soviet ally sitting on the Straits of Hormuz and cutting off water access to the Mideast oil fields, the UK (who owned most of the Iranian fields) and the US got rid of Mossadegh.
This lasted til the Shah left the country for cancer treatment in 78, then they had the revolution of 79 while he was gone. Most of the family lives in Paris or Beverly Hills now, they're all rich as fuck off stolen money.
Their women are hot, but put the shallow materialism of a nigger in with the money grubbing greed of the Jew in a body that ALMOST looks white. It's a nightmarish combination.

Near the end of his reign, the Shah was starting to become independent and price oil according to Iran's interests. Since he was no longer being an OPEC puppet, Carter's administration alongside UK, used propaganda spread among radios and aided Khomeini to overthrow the Shah.
The USA actually pivoted away from Iran to Saudi Arabia in 1974 after William E. Simon's petrodollar with the House of Saud. A lot of these modern conflicts in ME are just pretexts relating to petrodollar system.

I don't know if they would be better off, since Iran is mostly independent today, while back in the shah's era, they were dependent on western countries like saudi arabia is today.
Unlike saudi arabia, Iran builds their own tech, their own cars, their own car/jet engines, their own missiles, their own planes, their own medical devices and so on.
They are not as backwards as people seem to think. Their science and tech industries really boomed in the past 20 years, and is the fastest growing in the world. They rank among the top ranks in the world when it comes to some areas in science such as nanotech and stem cells research and much more.
Saudi arabia is so dependent on western countries that they would literally collapse in a month if the west cut all their ties with them.
The sanctions imposed by the west had the opposite effect on the iranians. Instead of bringing them to the table to negotiate, they started their own manufacturers and industries, striving for a fully independent nation. Their economy is slowly shifting from an oil economy to a knowledge based economy.
They are still behind western countries when it comes to technology and science, but they are clearly catching up and in some areas are excelling. An example is an article I read a week ago about how russia is getting help from Iran to design their drones.
Under the shah, Iran wasn't an islamic shithole but they were no better than saudi arabia. Today, they are independent from everyone, produce most of their tech and have one of the most and best engineers in the world.
They have achieved quite a lot while being under economic sanctions and after going through an 8 year war with iraq and through constant threat from israel and the US.
Do not underestime those fuckers, they are actually smart.

The only data
point for Iran is the Valentine,1959 study, and that was from a time of mass poverty in Iran.
Also, Lynn/Vanhanen basically did not do IQ tests--they gathered existing test results and compared against some GDP data. It somehow became the gold-standard for IQ by nation all over the internet.
So, Iran's IQ was measured in one and only one study, which was done in the 1950s. That's all we got for Iran. Only three other countries in Lynn/Vanhanen have IQ data as outdated as Iran's.
Recently, IQ stats of Iranians from colleges in Malaysia was taken, and they did pretty well. I have to find it again. Iran's average IQ would probably be close to 94, like Armenia, I think.

Source on that? Because the only one I found was that stupid IQ world map, which is completely unreliable. The only source for the iranian IQ is a study from the 1950s done on villagers and the IQ of OVER HALF of the countries were actually (((extrapolated))) by looking at the average IQ of surrounding countries.

average iq for the students is not 94, I don't know where you got that. A test of 53 iranian students in indonesia gave an IQ of 102, which is around the average for university students in non stem fields. I don't have more info on that test though, and I seriously doubt 53 is representative of the general population.
The only test that comes close is of two villages, one with fluoride in their water and one without, and the IQs comes around 93 for the village with fluoride in the water and 98 for the one without it.
Once again those are villages, and 98 IQ is definitely not 80. Until a real and reliable IQ test has been done, you cannot know for sure. One thing for sure though, it is definitely not 80, especially in the major cities.

He was very sick and sort of disappeared in early 1978, in a position that someone can't disappear from. Less than a year later he left the country. Eighteen months later he was dead of cancer.
He only had eighteen months to live when he had to leave the country. One of the reasons he lost power was he was too sick to run the country.
