Jesus Campos is a security guard at the Mandalay.
The original story was that paddock had the cameras wired up during the shooting and saw Campos coming. He assumed it meant that SWAT was arriving so he directed his fire to the door, unloaded 200 rounds only hitting Campos in the leg, then offed himself. Campos was regarded as a hero for “stopping the shooting.”

Current story is now that Campos was alerted by other guests about a drilling noise coming from Paddocks room before the shooting began. He went to investigate, was shot by paddock who then proceed to start shooting the crowd.

Ok so continuing my train of though from last bread,

I'm pretty sure, now that the story has changed, that Paddock's hand was forced by the security guard, and thus the original plan (which DID included the bomb car, there is NO WAY he risked lugging a car full of explosives all the way to the scene of the crime just to have it sit there for the lulz) was foiled right from the get go. Right now here's the two possible scenarios that played out:

Listen I looked it up, that property was finished in 1999. That leads me to believe the property has similar door locking devices that are at my property, as mine was built later than 1999 and has fucking 9 volt batteries that engage a mag lock when you put your keycard in. They do store a RAM log for card access, but there are no door alarms. The casino is not repsonsible for stolen property unless your safe fails and you can prove it.

It's probably just his theory, not a slip up. He's probably imagining giant boxes of guns being brought up to a room. But Paddock was there for many days. Well you have to understand the conclusion i come to are based off comparisons to my property. The stairwells at my property dont have alarms on them but they are only one direction, so if you leave through it you aint getting back in without a key. They might have cameras though, some of my stairwells do.

what about stairway exit alarm? earlier information about them being blockaded. preparation for this caper seems to indicate that floors are basically unpatrolled and without surveillance in the hotel

Not when you remember that it was the last day of a 3 day event which means that he had already been sitting up there watching with guns set up for 3 days.

See thats some weird shit too, doors to stairwells are either normal handle type or panic bars. It would be rather difficult to block them unless say you took a piece of metal and screwed it into door frame on the other side. but like i said earlier, all doors are one direction. once you enter a fire stairwell (exit stairwell) you arent getting back on that floor if the door lock is working correctly. They are designed for fires so people dont go running up the hotel for safety and die instead of running the only allowable direction, think egress.

It's Wynn's business to know what happens in Vegas. When he mentioned the service elevator a lot of things started coming together.

They're trying to cover up their incompetence. They knew exactly where the shooter was yet it took them 70 minutes to get to him. They might have been able to stop the massacre.

Egress stairwells are supposed to be designed so that you cannot randomly go up floors. When there is a fire and people need to egress, the doors are supposed to be permantly locked so you only have one means of egress. You guys are not factoring in imcompetence and lack of repair. You are right though, some doors here do not lock just because they are too lazy to fix them. Understaffing is a serious issue here.

I've been to maybe a hundred hotels, many in casinos, many expensive, and the stairway doors never lock you out when you close them. And they don't have alarms except for maybe the bottom floor. Never tried it during a fire though.

I don't know man. I've never been bothered by a hotel worker and I use the stairs at night in hotels all the time. I don't think they are only for fires.

I thought it would be more dead but from asking around it seems like the amount of people traffic we get has not been hit that much at all. Kind of scary people have become normalized to this. After a week its like nothing ever happened.
