>9,999

Holy fuck this season right to the very end.

>999
>*9,999 マクロスΔ

kek good show.

In other news Walkure attack passed the 100K mark. Macross Delta will be the first 10K seller this season but it's something special it missed it by literally one unit in it's first week. I've never seen that happen before.

>that one guy who picked it up, walked around the shop then decided to put it back

Wasn't Kabeneri's debut week 7,777. I think Oricon is just fucking with people at this point

It seems like Jojo anime will never reach Part 1-2 popularity again in Japan. What happened? Do they hate Stands?

>*9,999 マクロスΔ
To the very fucking end not one show debuted with 10k in its first week this season. Holy fucking shit

Part 1 and 2 are just better. MOTW works better in manga.

Buyer drop out. Part 1-2 had novelty of being the first animated adaptation the rest suffer from seasonal drop. Not necessarily because people dislike it just not enough new buyers picking it up impulsively.

Delta is so shit compared to Frontier it couldn't even sell 10k.

Yes clearly that's all there is too it.

It'll break 10k next week but since this was an event ticket volume it'll drop hard next month.

>999 trips
>9,999
Nice, OP.

0 10k show
anime has reached its end

I find it ironic that people are more obsessed with anime Blu-Ray sales then ever before right as the market is going into a clear and obvious tailspin. At least the Japanese CD market is somewhat stable but nobody cares about that shit outside of Japan. Maybe if the Japanese economy weren't garbage and publishers didn't insist on charging nearly the price of a quality video game or triple the price of a quality movie for 2 episodes of shit content and some trinkets and event tickets it'd be doing better.

Don't worry Love Live Sunshine this season will restore everyone's faith again

Here's how to stop the industry from collapsing:

>Stop making so many shows each season
>Pick and choose quality source material to adapt
>Lower the fucking price

>Sold less than IBO

Always bet on Gundam

>>Stop making so many shows each season

The fact so many shows are being produced shows this industry isn't anywhere close to collapsing.

What is the current trend/genre/direction in anime?

When will the current anime bubble burst?

I remember when anime used to have several 10K sellers a season and top sellers would be like 20-30K fairly regularly. Now the market struggles to get even a single show over the 10K mark even with a major franchise name, solid advertising and special event tickets. Anime probably hasn't reached it's end but shows are clearly getting shittier and reliance on the BD market as a primary source for revenue is over and done with. It doesn't look like an especially bright future for anything relating to TV series that isn't an idol anime or something like Fate, Monogatari, Gundam, Isekai or possibly a new GuP season unless prices are lowered and maybe the quality of shows coming out improves a little. Even then nothing sells like it used to in this market anymore.

They are making lots of cheap shows and most run only 12-13 eps. They are pretty much just slinging shit at a wall and praying something sticks.

Onmyouji i thought got 4 season? why didn't get sale?

Oh nice. I was wondering when the doom-mongering thread was going to show up.

>I remember when anime used to have several 10K sellers a season and top sellers would be like 20-30K fairly regularly.

If most of those cheap shows didn't make back their money, they wouldn't make them. They know what they're doing.

>>Lower the fucking price
We've been over this so many fucking times, holy shit. The price is there because that is more or less the profit-maximizing price.

Japan now just lacks things that can be giant like SAO or SnK to lead the sale chart

Honestly no Spring show deserves to get 10 k average, consider how big their impact is

>9,999

wew why don't they just round up.

Late-night niche anime is used mainly as an advertisement for mobage, video games, light novels, movies, niche manga titles, food chains and even physical products like cars and motorcycles.
If the anime discs themselves sell really well to pay the production costs by itself, then that's considered a nice surprise, but nobody in the production committee except the one responsible for producing the discs and distributing them is expecting them to sell that well.
If they manage to even profit from the glorified advertisement by having several ten-thousand disc sales, then that's really really nice, but still of low marginal importance to most sponsor members of the production committee.

In short, nothing has changed since the implementation of the production committee system.

Seems pretty common sense doesn't it. I mean really the industry should have seen this coming years ago because I sure did and who the fuck am I. You could start to see the cracks as early as Winter 2014 if you knew where to look. It's really not the top line but just the overall range that shows have been in in the last couple seasons that just makes it glaringly obvious that the collapse is fully underway unless producers make some changes but they won't because they're typical conservative limited thinking Japanese business.

>anime is just advertisement for "X"
Post discarded

AHAHAHAHA IT SOLD LESS THAN IBO, MACROSSFAGS BTFO

>*9,999 マクロスΔ
And people said it's going to do way better than IBO. Kek.

new seasons of everything
3D
Isekai

Can't be helped if you don't like it.

>barely scratches 10k
>when frontier sold 40k

The 00s was a damn good decade for anime

Hopefully things can bounce back in the next 4-5 years

It won't.

Honestly I think peoples expectations are fucked because late night anime disc sales went on a real run from about 2006-2011 before slowly starting to regress back to their original mean over the course of the next 5 years. It's still not as low as the first 5 years before it but certain things like the light novel boom dying down and physical media becoming obsolete at such high prices. They were keeping things propped up a little with event tickets and extras but Japanese fans seem to be getting bored of those unless they can get them at a reasonable price and they're for something like a concert. With the light novel industry kind of declining it also seems like those little enticements like short booklets written by source authors aren't having the same kind of effect anymore either. There really do only seem to be three options here right now, lower prices, start making shows people would really want to own a physical copy of again like they were doing around the turn of the decade or just focus on Idol and Isekai series. For whatever reason the industry has chosen a 4th milk the fujos route for the coming seasons and I really don't think it's going to work out somehow for the ones that aren't idol shows or possibly Touken Ranbu

I wonder what's the next trend after Isekai.

>collapsing
Thanks to money from streaming rights, they are not even close to collapsing anymore.

>Re Zero will actually be spring's top seller

Holy shit.

There's nothing that indicates it's going to. The industry has had plenty of time in the last couple years to change it's course regarding late night anime in order to avoid this downturn and it's chosen to just double down on things. I see no reason to believe next year or even the year after will be any different for TV. Might as well just stick to day time at this rate.

>lower the fucking price
That would kill the industry if anything.

Anime industry is best than ever. At no other time quality of production was as high as now.

While it's likely become true, this is very low-level top seller.
Though i don't think it's because all these shows are not good enough, it just age of BD/DVD is really going to end in Japan.

Just last year we had Osomatsu-san user. Everything's fine.

It's probably between it and Macross at this point. We'll know by how big Macross second volume drop is. Macross destroyed absolutely everything in Spring media wise once you include CD sales though.

I have this image of somebody with a gun being pointed at their head being told to type this.

Random outliers don't indicate a healthy industry.

>CD sales
Who gives a shit? The singles sold less than the Phoenix Wright OP

RIP anime 2007-2016. Never forget.

This is just sad and pathetic.

>Do they hate Stands?
No,they love stands.
The most popular parts are 3 and 5.

>*9,999 マクロスΔ

Not very good, stalker was at +14K and it looks the drop for the volume 2 is going to be big.

>It's probably between it and Macross at this point
Macross will cross the 10k barrier next week to which Re Zero still hasn't ventured. Both will drop by half come the 2nd volume so I doubt both withh average 10k.

>I have this image of somebody with a gun being pointed at their head being told to type this.
Almost every show this season is qualitatively better than similar genre show airing say 5-10 years ago.

What makes you think that it's not a healthy industry?
Are you actually an anime disc producer? If so, then I can understand your concern.

It's almost as though the global economy has changed a lot between then and now. Curious, isn't it?

>One sale short of 10k
JUST

Lucky Star created anime, Gurren Lagann killed it ;_;

I think they're pretty equal.

Anime is truly dead.

it would kill shows that rely on disc sales, but not other kinds.

Which show is Spring 2016 Kekkai Sensen?

>Osomatsu
>100k
>anime is truly dead.

Anything over 10k is pretty decent, I don't know why Sup Forums is so obsessed with sales like it matters at all.

Depends how you measure. For example this seasonos pretty meh show Regalia, looks better than most of Mecha shows of 2000-2010 decade, or even many more recent ones.

Pretty average Orange, looks time better than similar titles from past. This season sport anime like DAYS, Battery - unimaginably good looking compared to old ones.

Mob Psycho extraordinarily good for shounen genre. etc. for most shows. - the technology and experience now allow creating better looking products more easily.

Tales of Zestria - shit adaptation of shit game, make Fate fags envy.

Of course the "quality" doesnt mean shows became more interesting and popular - but still the industry level improved a lot, and that also with increase of total number of anime shows in production each season.

I'm not even mad the quads get is more important

Bungoe Stray Dogs probably.

Nigger, anything over 3-4k is decent. 10K is exceptionally great.

What does that question even mean?

But it's for an anime he doesn't like, so it doesn't count, so anime is dying and forever ruined by fujos/yurifags/haremfags/normalfags/normies/westerners/chinese/otaku/humans/aliens/robots/animals being catered to.

>plz bring beck animu i leik

>overseas sales not included
It sold well over 10k and you know it. Re zero as well.

>Random outliers don't indicate a healthy industry.
We also had utapri, Owarimonogatari, Fate/Staynight UBW. Like I said everything's fine so stop acting like it's all over.

macross' release date is July 22th right? so it really will break the 10k mark in the end anyway

Even Oricon doesn't track 100% of domestic sales. It's close but it's not 100% accurate. So Macross, Re:Zero, and Jojo are definently over 10k if you take that into account.

>nothing past 10k
Anime is kill

Re:zero second volume has an event ticket too so no it won't drop as much as Macrooss.

>9,999 マクロスΔ

64,981 Macross Frontier Vol.1

Macross franchise is dead.

Is there any big anime this Fall?

For real? Were all of this show's fans swept away by a tornado or something.

If you're only talking about art and animation then you might be right. My post was about story and stuff too, I think tv anime is pretty much the same as 10 years ago in general.

Yeah, that too. These charts are so bullshit, gotta love when someone shittalks my favorite show because it didn't sell x copies even though both of us know it probably did.

All that means is Aniplex might be fine which I guess is good if you really really fucking love top selling light and visual novel stuff.

...

>*8,289 文豪ストレイドッグス
Bones are dead they said

>422 the last song
Kek

>28,862 Koyomimonogatari

Not bad for shorts.

Utapri and swordsluts

If you don't have any actual factual evidence then you're talking out your ass.

The love triangle is terrible, and that's a big draw for macross.

That's what video games said in te past

Oh so you're that aniplex guy. Well you can go fuck yourself right in the ass because Utapri and Osomatsu-san has nothing to do with aniplex.

Sales threads are the flat earth videos of Sup Forums. Discuss.

WOW DUDE AMAZING. REALLY MAKES ME THINK. CARTOON SALES, MAN. XD. TRULY A TOPIC TO SPEND HOURS AND HOURS OF OUR DAILY LIVES INTO. KEK. LEL. LOL. SHIT. HOLY FUCK. STUPID RETARDED AVERAGE EXPRESSION MEMES THAT WE HAVE TO USE SINCE WE ARE TOO LE AUTISTIC TO TALK LIKE HUMAN BEINGS

Let me guess:

>Why don't this sales cater to me
>Anime is doomed
>Sales talk by pirates who don't actually buy shit
>Anime is dying. Here's my opinion why

Did I sum up the thread, right?

Depends on your perspective. Asking that sort of question on Sup Forums is like asking somebody to step onto a landmine of greentext bullshit

>The love triangle is terrible,
So was the love triangle in Frontier, Zero and 7.
