The more I look at this picture the more I think the two different puddles of blood came out of him at different times. The corner of the thick puddle closest to his shoulder has not soaked into the carpet at all. The early thin puddle though, has been there long enough to turn black where the carpet got saturated. I see 45 minutes to an hour old for the first puddle and less than 15 for the thick puddle. The blood flecks around his mouth are consistent with choking on a sudden throat full of blood from your torn lungs. The drips on his chin ran down towards his mouth. It looks like blood came out of his nose though, which would be consistent with a hole in his sinuses, leading to the big blood vessels that feed his brain. But there is just no way he got his shirt bloody from a headshot. None at all. If he had been sitting forward when the blood came out of his mouth some of the drips would lead down his chin, but every single drip big enough to move went up towards his ears because his head was on the ground when it came out.
