>It's a Cirno episode

whoa what they finally made an official touhou anime?

and theres touhou in english on ps4, finally zun has embraced the shilling

It isn't official.

looks pretty good for unofficial then

Are you serious?

youtube.com/watch?v=wdWt5vg4d4s
There's also this one. Looks even better imo, although only one episode is out right now.

I haven't really kept up with Touhou in recent years, sorry

Is this the one with the sexy Chen?

Why can't Kyoani just make a 2hu anime for fucks sake

...

seems like ZUN won't do it.

i guarantee there are tons of studios who would go apeshit at the chance to make a Zun-sanctioned touhou anime.

Not him but they can't simply make an OVA or something and distribute it for free? Or Zun would not allow it? ( just supposing of course).

>Touhou memes, The animation

there is one OVA that is... kind of officialllliiiish? but it was a crossover promotional thing starring some company's mascot guy, it's been years and i can't remember the details

Kyoani would just make it a slice of life. If I get a Touhou anime I want some bullets

ZUN doesn't want Touhou to get an official anime. He wants it to be remembered for the games, and he doesn't want it to move away from doujin territory.

That's why Hifuu Club is the best 2hu anime.

>implying there wouldn't be top-tier bantz with Reimu, Marisa, Flandre and her nee-san Remilia, with Yakumo the christmas cake sensei, with Cirno filling the autistic airhead role

But it's more or less like this what I said: what if some studio like KA makes a "doujin anime" of touhou and publish it? I ask this because I always see a lot of manga so an anime would work too right?

doujin animes exist but you won't see one by a big studio. he could just sue and instantly win

>Flandre having any relevant role ever
Already shit.

Fantasy Kaleidoscope had potential until the SDM story arc despite the memes, but it literally went straight to shit after that.

There are 7 episodes already? Last I checked there were only 2.

They are releasing an episode every 6 months now

>Shit taste confirmed
filtered

Awesome.

>ZUN doesn't want an official touhou anime because it would ruin the fanon and memes because the anime studion would use canon shit
>the touhou board doesn't approve of fanon and memes and worships any canon shit that ZUN produces even if it's shit
If an official touhou anime would be made, It would just cause a massive shitstorm among fanbase and touhou would actually be dead because of the never ending clash between fanon and canon. Good call, ZUN.

I know what I am going to do the first day of summer break.

is there a place I can download all the episodes with subs?

There are lots of canon material aside from the games, including several manga that could be easily adapted into an anime without triggering anyone's autism in the process.
Zun simply doesn't want to do it because it would be "too much of a hassle" due to all the attention it would bring back to an already declining franchise, nowadays he just wants to be more focused in his brewery business, family and doing the occasional game every two years in his spare time.

Currently the only place where you can watch them are either Nico or YouTube, nyaa only has the BD rips with subs and various fandubs of the first 4 episodes.

>declining franchise

So touhou is really dying. I still love touhou and enjoy the mangas, I will miss this thing when the times comes.

Shipgirls was a good place to start winding down the touhou craze. there is so much everything, and much of it is good quality, that as a fan of 2hu you would NEVER be able to dig through it all. and it never even needed any anime adaptation to maintain its popularity for so long

shipgirls was like the passing of the torch.

Touhou is still very big in Japan just not as mainstream.

Nips otakus still retain a sliver of taste I see.

Boatsluts are a fad that will eventually pass out, it doesn't have nearly the amount of potential to become the next Touhou in the indie sphere or Pokémon in the mainstream arena.

things pass in and out of public memory MUCH faster than even ten years ago. the consumption of media is faster and more fleeting than it was in the past, when the internet and fandoms were more niche.

so yeah boatsluts won't last as long, but neither will anything made in these modern internet-saturated times.

Hifuu has potential but I doubt the Chinese can keep up.
The TD adaptation is looking good though, so we will see.

I meant *DDC
At least they are adapting the good stuff, unlike only the memes like Mampuku, so I have higher hopes for them.

Most of the fanbase went to Kancolle and other mobage shit. What remains of Touhou in Japan is actually the better fans who utilise Touhou's freedom of fan creations.

Of course, the dedicated fanbase has stayed and that is good, but a lot of quality content creators have left because jumping on the newest ship brings them more attention and profits, and that is not good because Touhou depends on those quality content creators to get the ball rolling, a lot of what makes the franchise so popular and appealing is the content from doujin circles.

>Suika losing to some no name chink
>Yukari can't control her own portal

This is shit is literally worse than SSiB.

I think the epic approach is something quite lacking in Touhou fanworks, Suika losing to some random Lunarian is not far fetched (considering these guys are literally semi-gods) and since this happened quite some time ago it's not really out of bounds to say Yukari wasn't as powerful or in control of her powers as she is now (hence why she lost).

At least the music scene is pretty strong. Vocaloid fanworks are declining. Kancolle music is sub par and not really memorable. Touhou's creativity saving grace is pretty much the music scene and doujin games (because Kadokawa forbids Kancolle fangames)

>episode 7
Wait, there were 5 and g?

hehe chinese cartoons

The last 3 episodes have just been filler of the worst kind without any trace of action, as if it wasn't enough with the meme pandering.
Mampuku Jinja has lost their way, I don't even know what they keep doing these.

that and it could have been a set-up on her part to get rid of a few miscreants and no good hot heads along the way by taking them down a peg or two.

That guy is supposedly some big shot in lunarian lore iirc. I don't remember his name though.

Whatever happened to that anime about Reimu looking for her missing donation box?

It's been literally 5+ years.

It got a second episoded. I think it was about Reisen and Youmu fighting over a watermelon.

k

i guess they like poverty

I guess Zun will just sell the rights for an animu when he's done doing Touhou.

Kadokawa is just around the corner.

There are always a few unofficial anime, but were any of them worth watching?

Hifuu Club and Memories of Phantasm are the ones worth watching imo.

>Most of the fanbase went to Kancolle

Most? Maybe 1/4. At best.

>declining franchise

Oh boy, it's this shit again.

All the large 2hu cons have the same number of circles for years. It's not declining. It just stagnated.

>male
>big shot in 2hu

Males don't appear in the games, but there are several important males in touhou lore.

And none of them are important due to power.

Males can't into true magic. By ZUN's words.

i only knew about rinnosuke, seemed like he was just there to be a link to stuff outside the barrier for the 2hus to explain how they can have weird human world junk and appliances and such

Doesn't stagnation lead to decline?

yes

Why are the production values so bad when compared to the first one? And why haven't they done Imperishable Night or at least done Sanae's Hisoutensoku campaign instead? Still fun.

Lunarians are strong as fuck and their weapons are basically divine-tier. Also Yukari gets fankwanked to the point that people forget she isn't actually so powerful nothing can stop her. She isn't even the strongest youkai in earth-sphere of realms let alone the moon.

He isn't Lord Tsukuyomi, the moon god and ruler of the moon capital, not even the husband of any of the Yorihime sisters. He is just a nobody OC the chinks put there.

>Touhou is declining
*reclining

Probably because their budget and human resources have dwindled down, that's also why they no longer bother to animate complex action sequences like in the first episodes

...

Weren't these originally voiced acted by one pretty talented fan seiyuu?

Is that still the case?

I

LOVE

The green miko!

>it's the cirno route
>not even properly adapted

She retired.

Zun will not allow it since it will kill the doujin archetypes.

So they got multiple now?

He could just commission an adaptation of Suzunaan, the Fairies manga or Japanese Red.

Indeed

Lunarian princesses are strong as fuck. Stop defending some random donutsteal dude.

Tsukuyomi is probably a girl too.

At fucking last

No, he is canonically a guy.

Neat.

It's fucking 10 minutes no-budget episode, they couldn't adapt all the fights even if they wanted.
