And society would be better off as a result. Frankly, the only reason disabled (mentally and completely incapabale phsyical) people and geriatrics with dementia are even alive is due to familial compassion to devote inequal resources to keep their failing choices and bodies alive. Perhaps from respect for past abilities or love, but that doesn't exclude them, currently, from being called a drain on resources.
Now, you might say that disabled only refers to people in wheelchairs, or lost a leg or something and point to the paraolympics or Steven Hawking or something and those examples are fine as anomalies and exemptions. Steven Hawking may be physically dead, but his mental faculties are still as brilliant as ever, the fact he had a genius at all is something that happens once in a billion.
And do you know what exemptions and exceptions prove? The rule.
