Greninja has Aerial Ace, and it's rumored that going Mega gives it Protean. It helps.

How many episodes of Pokemon are there in total? I wanted to watch through the series subbed since I watched it dubbed as a kid, but I imagine it will take months to get through it.

The episode shown in the OP (today's episode) was the 931st main series episode, and there's a few necessary specials to watch as well. I can give you a guide if you just wanna watch XY(&Z), as that's a much more manageable ~130 episodes so far.

i stopped watching the series some time ago but man that music is great.

It's not 100% confirmed yet, but it seems very likely. He's going to the finals, and there's an episode with a title's first half that's "Pokemon League Victory!" Some people argue that it's not necessarily Ash's victory, but that seems pretty silly.

Mold Breaker is Hawlucha's ability.

If only there were a Normal move that benefited from Gardevoir's ability that was quick and difficult to dodge, like something that used sound waves to attack for example. A sort of "hyper voice" if you will.

I love how people kept on mashing game elements into the the anime.

But I have to admit, they can be consistent (you can see stats decrease) and inconsistent (type-advantages). But still, it boils down to the plot, the anime can't be run by merely game logic alone.

levels and hidden values can override type modifiers, since gen 1.

I'm obviously talking about the anime one. It's made to be an actual ninja in the truest sense of the word and is physical only after having discarded Water Pulse. There's no reason for it to learn a Special move.
