in the end they were both on the same side
Wh-what?
Neither. The 20th Century was a mistake.
Honestly Rommel was the better person. But, like Robert E Lee before him, was just on the wrong side of the war.
Winners Write History.
Patton personally, if he knew what he knew in 45 he'd have sided with Rommel against the Soviet fucks.
patton was the better army commander
rommel could barely manage an armored corps
amen
I think by the end of the war Patton knew it was a mistake
Top 10 Anime crossovers
NEITHER
PEPE!
Patton easily
Both are fucking amazing
The magnificent bastard. The other one realised he'd fought for the wrong guys by the end of the war.
Fuhrer Adolf Hitler
Hmm, I choose SAGE SPAM AND PASS THE WORD
TODAY DEMOCRATS OUTED FOR HANDING STATE SECRETS TO PAKI INTEL AS THEY CRIED ABOUT PUTIN
Worst redpill of the bunch
WWII was such a mistake
Rommel... He did the best with what he had. Patton was basically invading with a cheat code of infinite economy and troops so it is a lopsided contest... But Rommel was amazing as a person, and has some really interesting roots from WW1.
Wrong
Rommel was very good at what he did
But he also had some of the best commanders in the entire military under him so he had lots of help nobody else could ever dream of
Patton by sheer willpower would win though
Rommel was a lot more intelligent and classy than Patton. Patton was not as respected as many think, with many people considering him a liability and danger to missions and his men. And unnecessarily so too. Trailer trash really. Rommel was respected by every body.
Erich Von Manstein
He was basically /nsg/ incarnate in the end. Then he got carcrashed.
Patton because he looks like Trump
I honestly think that Trump would make a better war general, ever since he came to power nobody is messing with us.
I mean shit, he bombed a Syrian air base and the Russfags haven't done a single thing about it, hopefully Iran will get the "Iraq" treatment soon.
Honestly Trump could have taken control of the gov and more than half of the country would follow. The man has some balls thats for sure.
his greatest feat of ww2 was racing across north africa playing right into the british hands like the germans did in africa during ww1. they tried to advance beyond any means of supply and strategic command
during op cobra patton showed a thousand times greater operational control of his army than rommel ever did. rommel was a soldiers soldier but not more than division general material
Yes
fuck off to /ptg/ or the_donald you redditors
patton was a crazy nigger lost many people against a very very weak westfront only to catch up with the soviets progress.
Rommel was the Chad
Reminder Rommel was force suicided by Hitler because he didn't inform Hitler about a assassination plot cause Rommel wanted Germany to live rather then Hitler and thought they could get out of the war if Hitler was dead
Reminder Patton would kick your arse and call you a autistic liberal if you called him a Nazi sympathizer or any authoritarian type. He was just """"pro""" nazi cause he saw communism was worse but he still hated those damm krauts for messing around with democracy
> Patton - trailer trash
Wrong. Fucking wrong.
Read a book you fucking retard.
See Patton's education & WWI record.
Stupid fucking uneducated posters
>Chad general denies his commands and races 2500km beyond supply than complains he wasn't given enough forces while he is in command of 50% of the entire Axis armored forces
Well as far as I'm concern both Rommel and Patton weren't pro Jewish, so I don't care about them both.
>subhuman trailer trash is angry about some other trailer trash
Is it me or Patton has a similarity to trump, the Lips and The Eyes
One was a military tank genius who honored discipline and victory over everything, the other was a rude asshole who smacked his soldiers and insulted them all the time.
Just your typical American educated Burger. Let him believe what he wants about Patton.
Rommel in strategy.
Patton in a one on one fight.
>was just on the wrong side of the war
He was on the losing side, not the wrong side
Rommel
*hides flag*
He matticulated at one of the best military colleges in the world, tard
a battle for between the two most over rated general ever. Rommel would be too sick to command, but patton would get autistic and attack mannstein isntead because he has some autistic delusion aabout some historic battle and gets his ass kicked by an actual legendary general
mannstein wins
He wasn't just a fucking tank genius you dumb German cunt, he ran the entire Afrika Korps.
He was one of the best combined arms generals on both the offense and defense in the entire war. He made the best use of his armor, his infantry and his artillery.
For fuck's sake, Michael Wittman was a fucking tank genius. (At least until he got his ass btfo by a combination of Sherman Fireflies on a hill and maybe even a couple aircraft)
You got Patton right tho.
Patton was literally fucking insane. As in, he was completely bat shit for bloodlust, and every fiber in his body was 100% dedicated to the art of mass combat. Nearly everybody around him hated him with all their passion, and he was essentially autistic beyond belief.
Patton is over rated, but the naziboos here are hilarious. Rommel is the most exaggerated general of the entire war. He was very good on a tactical level, and somewhat unorthadox, but he simply does not have the accomplishments people make out whatsover. Ironically the exxagerated romell profile is largely due to american propaganda, which largely built up their opposistion in the early war period, suffering some early setbacks, it was a convienient explanation that was much more appealing than the truth.
>commanded only a korps
>COMBINED ARMS GENIUS
lmfao he was mediocre at best
the high command goal for the africa corps was to defend tripoli. rommel misinterpreted this as race 2500km with 1:1 losses until you're completey out of supply than attack some more until you've lost half the army than race backwards losing more men than your enemies.
rommel was the best asset of the allied high command. he had was in overall command of more tanks and men than patton had during the tunisia campaign and patton just stamped that shit out in a month
>Michael Wittman
>Wittman
>one n
Just no, Burger, just no. Learn how to German.
Zhukov
He wanted to re-arm what was left of the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS and march straight through to Moscow. That's why the jews took him out.
his NCO origins helped and hurt him. His inability to fully understand larger strategic ideas and logistical limitations were his greatest downfall. practically every failed offensive of his was due to logistica limitations, or as you said, literally having no troops left. it could be argued this was unavoidable, but then fighting so aggressively shouldn't have been the coruse of action.
After Poland and France everyone in german high command was high on their own supply and thought shit like Barbarossa could succeed.
After being promoted he commanded the entire western front. You can say he wasn't successful but not that he didn't make the best of his limited resources.
Hasso v. Manteuffel is underrated btw
Patton was indeed the trailer trash of ww2 generals. He was almost shitcanned about 3 times during the war, and Truman called him an unamerican tyrant in the making. Then he had his happy little accident after briefly trying to warmonger the soviets.
The one who fought for jews against white people.
Comrade Zhukov makes both of those losers look like infants playing with toy soldiers.
the Atlantic wall was unbelievably retarded
Based
I think in this context he meant wrong side of war as the losing side, meaning history can make him out to be whatever villain the winners deem fit.
You've got it backwards. Rommel was a pretty mediocre strategist, great tactician, though. Patton would have worn him down in the long run if it was solely the 2 generals pitted against each other.
would have been amazing
rommel and patton were primadonnas but, rommel was vastly unrealistic of the strategic appraisal. patton had the benefit of a fully motorised army but, he also gave sound strategic advice to his commanders like how too conduct the breakthrough of tunisia, the invasions of sicily and souther italy.
when he was brought into europe during cobra it was the 8th army that saved the western campaign from another huge german breakthrough. rommel really has nothing meritirious in his general officer battle history besides his command of 7th panzer in france
>Literally planning to kill Hitler in a coupe, get caught get knifed
Zhukov was just playing with 10x more toy soldiers.
Look Hans, part of being a tank genius means you have to actually ride around in a tank and score kills without getting your shit fucked up too fast.
Wittmann did this regularly until he failed to detect that the Bongs were able to mount 17-pounders onto US Shermans and got caught in open ground. (after fucking their shit up for the better part of a month solid)
Rommel was good, but he pretty much just rolled around in a Horch and barked orders.
totally agree, i still love him, former NCO generals are unbelievably interesting, and his ideas were very fresh, some of which incredibly influential on warfare overall.
...
for once I agree with a commie
though zhukov wasn't a communist, he was a soldier
Zhukov, greatest general of WW2
How was it retarded? A bunch of teenagers almost repelled the best soldiers the allies could muster up.
That Zhukov nigger was lucky he had meat shields to throw at the germans with no remorse...No strategy at all with no concern for casualties. Rommel and Patton laugh at that kike commie nigger Zhukov.
>Generals should fight, not give orders
It's admirable, sure. But it's not effective.
Patton was a winner
Rommel is a loser.
zhukov didn't command shit
he was a planner and never conducted a single operation as a field general
now if you want to compare him with his contemporaries like brauchist or eisenhower than you could say he was the overall best general. than again his winning strategies were based on german methods.
we're talking field commanders here apparently though
Zhukov was probably the best general the Red Army had, but he was still average, not impressive overall.
Manstein and Guderian were better generals than this overrated cunt.
the saddest truth of all time
>Patton was a winner
>When he got Mossaded
That's not how you win
So Patton is the best general then and all his men are a bunch of bitches? Duly noted. Patton treated war like a career and life goal in and of itself. And hes not wrong.
hitler's failure as a strategist/tactician is why germany lost
he listened to outside the box thinking early in the war that led to great success, but also led to him thinking himself as a master strategist
he made blunder after blunder leading to total defeat despite having victory within his grasp on countless occasions
after hitler gained total support for the nazi party in germany, getting rid of him would have been the best thing that could have happened to the german war effort.
>Literally planning to kill Hitler in a coupe, get caught get knifed
>Atlantic wall was a Hitler thing
>Rommel was the one who saw holes anre were the allies would enter, and had to make make shift fortification cause the wall was slow.
How come not a single fucking Bong has come in here spouting about Monty???
he's kind of guy to demote you to private for having stubble on your face after 3 days of getting shelled, and watching everyone around you die
Rommel wanted to kill Hitler, Patton wanted to rearm Germany and take out the Soviets.
Both wanted to take out the Soviets.
maybe 1 beach had any potential to hang up the invasion, and it didnt. The real opposistion came from the mobile forces that reacted. If the invasion was going to be defeated, it would be the reaction, not the initial forces that accomplish this. armoured forces were actually at one point in position to counter attack a beach (this could have been devastating) but got confused and attacked by aircraft and retreated. the forces at the beach had no expectation of holding out beyond a few hours.
Basically they invade france, taking advantage of the fact that much of frances forces are static garison, and then when it comes to defending france, they do the same exact thing. as soon as any segment of the wall was breached, the entire thing was a poor investment of resources and manpower, two things it was a massive drain on.
he was more far sighted then either rommel or patton
you know zhukov fought in the sino-soviet war during the thirties, he was a cavalry officer
but he saw rudimentary tanks, and taught his men to blow them up because they were powered by gasoline
he knew then though that tanks would decide the next great war, and when the first soviet tank division was being formed, he volunteered to lead it, everyone thought he was crazy and it would be the end of his career, but zhukov knew this was the future
also why all soviet tanks used diesal, and american tanks were molotov cocktails on treads
but also if you read how he defended moscow, and started to push the germans back, you will realize he was brilliant, he had less men, and shittier tanks in the begining (at the defence of moscow)
his t-34's were no match for german tigers
but he moved with speed on the battlefield and between battles, using transport as a force multiplier
not only that his boss was stalin, who would have him shot if he failed, so he was under alot more pressure
I really like patton, because he knew not the word fear, and had a set of balls made of steel
and rommel was brilliant, too bad he was under supplied or he could have held out a long time
none the less, the general I would want, when all the odds were stacked against me, and my back was to the wall, I would want zhukov
kek Monty the man waster...
Patton's push for Berlin would have been better than Operation Market Garden.
Fuck Rommel
The only reason why hes so popular is that allys were trying to create a good nazis so they can import some of them...
Best german General was von Manstein or Guderian
But the Bongs love the fucking guy.
Maybe because he always put the Sandniggers, Poos, Leafs and Anzacs at the front of the charge when willing Burger troops weren't available.
I say you need to do a bit more research user
its debateble who ws the absolute best, they each had thier style
but to write zhukov off as a "nigger" is a little shortsighted
Patton was the better general, but Rommel was the better person by far. Krieg ohne Haß is a concept that every army should strive towards.
A sad truth
this. wasnt monty banking on the us armour to break out to support market garden airbourne? its been years since i read up on this
>Guderian
Patton was right, the US, British and Canadians should have kept pushing East after the fall of Berlin into Moscow to end with the Red Disease.
Trading even or even worse in casualties is something the RKKA could afford. It would have been a disaster for any German commander.
...
I didn't write him off as a nigger, I stated exactly what he was... average or mediocre. Better defender than attacker, and even then its because he had home advantage against an encircled, logistically stretched foe fighting on multiple fronts.
Secretly, the Soviets also had more support from the Anglosphere than the (((official history))), i.e; Lend Lease would tell you.
To be fair Guderian also thought Hitler was a fucking idiot. Everytime he made a logical request he got denied.
>The real opposistion came from the mobile forces that reacted. If the invasion was going to be defeated, it would be the reaction, not the initial forces that accomplish this.
That's simply not true. D-day was decisive, once the allies had a point to land their manpower it was over.
