Here's what I don't understand.
They wanted to talk to him as the engineer who designed the device's BATTERY (and maybe other bits). The device is a charger for a communication device used almost exclusively by US Special Forces, FBI, CIA, and other government operators. So why were they going to talk to the engineer about it? Did they suspect the company supplying the devices were selling some on the side and wanted to confirm with him? Or did they suspect he had a few extra lieing around that he sold on ebay and the COMP MAN just comped it so he could listen in on when the local FBI got called in when he started COMPING all those country music Trump loving fans?
