No, Puck being drawn as an onion instead of an elf is what started the downfall.
It was fine when it was a one panel thing sometimes but now he's permanently stuck as a fat creature thing.
Guaranteed he's going to ruin the atmosphere when shit gets serious in a Berserk chapter coming up.
