Communism is the next stage of humanity following the capitalist stage and the socialist stage.
What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

You assume that "capitalists" are in charge and the opposite of the poor, even though businesses range from small family owned businesses to multi-billion dollar corporations that have differing profit margins. It is possible to be a part of the working class whilst using capital to increase production (via a small business). I strongly doubt that "the working class" supports socialism, I assume that voting patterns in different countries from poor people are irrelevant? The working class in the US doesn't support your system, you assume trying to decide what is best for them

Because western countries started idustrialization and urbaniztion hundreds years before Russian elites which start to think about such things after we lost the Crimean War in the middle of XIX century.
After capitalist and feudal elites was purged during the Revolution, Russia started to move to the modern industry, science and agriculture much faster than before. As we can see today degenerated capitalist elites was the problem that slow down russian progress for centuries.
