Why aren't there more anime about PTSD and horrors of war?
PTSD anime

Re: Zero doesn't count
Barefoot Gen and Graveyard of the Fireflies would be the obvious ones
because its the age of the moeblob and it wouldnt sell
sure it would, just slap a few attractive characters in it but made the MC too deep into trauma that he's oblivious to the girl character lust for his dick
im afraid adding girls would water it down with typical boob shenanigans and a beach episode, if they didnt sexualize them to an extreme and kill them off just like men then it would be good.
yea... I mean like new stuff
Because it doesn't sell.
Because differently from you most people who watch anime, including the japanese, dont want a show about something interesting. They want just the plain old combination of teenage fantasy and moe.
There's one airing this season. How new are you?
Learn to fucking read senpai
...
>this doesn't count because
No, you're retarded if you think your opinion can change what an anime factual is.
...
Because it's not war nor PTSD
and what the anime actually is is not related to whats being discussed.
I meant PTSD related to war
Is this the soldier K-on anime? was there hint of traumatic stuff or just SoL
>PTSD
Lots of that.
>War
Got that, too. But I supposed you are a secondary so the backstory would be spoiler to you.
>PTSD related to war
Got that too.
You just butted in without reading the thread to advertise an unrelated boring anime thats been flooding the board all day, you can be done now.
Yes. Both.
Yeah, it's the K-on anime. No hint of traumatic stuff at all, just SoL. :'(
you're really grasping at the most brittle straws, i guess you could call hetalia "ptsd and horror of war related" if you think that bullshit is.
>secondary
No shit, what exactly did I say?
>Why aren't there more anime
neat, might pick it up then
>How new are you?
not new, just dont watch shitty shows
>dying multiple times is easy
You wanted more. Here it is.
Here's your reply.
because anime is for soft pussies who want the story to be about friendship/drama/shitty japanese memes/kawaii/cute shit
Pic related
It's not the dying part, it's the part after the dying part. Subaru is more want to give up than terrified.
...
What do you think she did on Nam?
That would be way too uncomfy for NEETs.
Sora No Woto has an entire episode dedicated to exploring the PTSD one of the characters acquired from having her entire squad killed in front of her
Nips don't know shit about war
IT AIN'T ME
The visual novel Muv Luv Alternative has a whole narrative arc about this
If only they make an anime version of Letters from Iwo Jima
Probably frying gooks from a Zippo.
dunno probably they sell bad
What makes this subject so interesting?
The Japanese military doesn't really do anything. Authors who have profound views on the horrors of war and related themes have often experienced or been affected it. I'm not saying that you have to be a veteran or a victim of war to write about it, but the horror of war is not something that Japanese society has had to confront in decades. It would be completely alien to the author and audience.
Because Japs don't believe PTSD exists any more than they do dyslexia.
Should've made a story about that one soldier who thinks he's still at war, waging war on the Philippines jungle, decades after Japan had surrender
Just make it one of those generic ones that start off moe then goes gory. That sells.
bait and switch always work
>i guess you could call hetalia "ptsd and horror of war related" if you think that bullshit is.
>Finally get an anime that showcases ptsd well
>Not ptsd and gets compared to hetalia
Get to episode 15 and than we'll talk.
Your premise bullshit you learned from your precious digibro doesn't work here.
Because the current Japanese government intends to promote its military and increase recruitment in its bid to re-militarize and anything to do with horrors of war would be counter-productive to its interests.
I had such bad PTSD watching this episode that I couldn't finish this show
>>Finally get an anime that showcases ptsd well
>Re: Zero
I watched episode 18, that is NOT ptsd
lucky you
At least have the decency not to shitpost outside of your containment thread.
Clannad gave me PTSD
The retardness... it's haunting me
what's wrong user? you don't have to keep it in you anymore
>decency
Hah talk to me about decency when you faggots stop derailing threads with your what's worse A/Z or VVV bullshit.
Looks like someone never watched VOTOMs.
I'd kill for a WW1 anime.
THE FUCK are you talking about? and why are you complaining here?
Every fucking gundam that came before wing.
Hopefully pic related will satisfy our desire
>mech shit
>shit
The MUH HUMERAY guy from A.Z had PTSD for one and a half cours.
Yeah the white devil was fucking merciless
War and PTSD are not always correlated.
Uso is going to be haunted for his entire life.
Yes, but Re:Zero has neither
It's also usually incredibly lazy and hardly ever decent
Victory had a decent amount of suffering which made it highly enjoyable, also bikes.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't PTSD refer specifically to the mental disorders gotten by people during war?
Watching her buddies die in the mud.
>not watching every genre
>in a thread looking for characters that exhibit clear signs of ptsd
>give great examples
>shit
Sup Forumsutism at its finest.
...
Because historically Japan has been the one causing the horrors
This forced meme was never funny.
No, PTSD stands for post traumatic stress disorder.
It's very common for soldiers because war really can be hell, but it is diagnosed on people regardless of the situation which ultimately caused it.
Only took 2h for the mainlanders to show up.
Yes, you are wrong. It's a popular misconception that war is the only cause of PTSD. Unfortunately, many people refuse to accept this.
it doesn't have to be war. Just any traumatic experience. Shellshock in the other hand, is similar but different. I heard somewhere that new studies found that the trauma was caused by the body being struck by sudden but large enough shockwave, which is commonly happen in war. paraphrasing a bit
>beach episode is the last episode
>only MC makes it back home
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
So would, say, Hachimaki's condition in the later half of Planetes count as PTSD?
>beach episode
>6th of June 1944
Yes
Shino's (I think that's her name) fear of gun is also PTSD.
but I think it's more interesting if it was caused by war. because it creates a clear line between a civilian and a war vet who has seen the horrors of war
Another thing to add the military didn't give two fucks about sending someone out on the battlefield with ptsd. This was a large complaint with Schwarzesmarken and Anett that had to be explained to pretty much everyone watching.
It baffles me how people know next to zilch on the subject but still attempt to argue about it.
...
Look up an anime called "Now amd then, here and there" or something along those lines.
It legit made me feel bad watching. It has child soldiers, dystopian backdrop, and rape.
>It baffles me how people know next to zilch on the subject but still attempt to argue about it
That's how humanity works. Willful ignorance prevails. As a psychologist, it keeps me 100% mad at all times.
I wouldn't really call Barefoot Gen Horros of War since it's basically "only" a nuke being dropped and MC trying to get into safety.
>google it
>cute girl on the cover
>rape
I don't like where this is going user
Well Seed still kinda has it too.
Beside that LotG is a good war anime and for mangas: 'Pluto', 'Red Eyes' and 'All you need is kill' go in the general direction.
The greatest bullshit i've seen is still First Squad: The Moment of Truth. Makes you really mad as a military fetishist.
I would like to see an original anime or manga made about seeing female soldiers seeing war first hands.
More girls suffering in reality and as deal shit being as a mother too.
>The greatest bullshit i've seen is still First Squad: The Moment of Truth
yea, I noticed from the trailer. pretty interesting premise though
have you read that manga which name escapes me. The one with the one-eyed female sniper
You don't see soldiers losing their minds on the battlefield but instead the absolute worst that can happen in the civilian side of things.
I think that counts.
>one-eyed female sniper
This intrigues me.
No I haven't heard of it
Is it a true story?
>Implying Pearl Harbor wasn't staged by Roosevelt and his jewish banker buddies
>Implying the use of atomic bombs by the US wasn't the biggest and most unforgivable war crime in history
...
no. fictional world, fictional conflict.
