D.Gray-man

Episode 5 is out and it was pretty good.

shes pretty cute

What is even going on with this series anymore?

...

I wonder if the flash back of alma and kanda will be wrapped up in one episode?

homolust

That cut out shirt

Exorcists are fucked and only a miracle can tip the scales in their favor, and I don't even know if that's desirable.

with what? currently in the manga or the anime? cause it explains this Alma thing. As for the manga, I really think next chapter will wrap up the Search for AW arc. feels like he's going to that house with the black timcampy

He'll have a talk with the 14th and then their going to kill that parasite Noah together. Callin it.

>going to kill that parasite Noah together
saving lavi arc confirmed

If bookmans at the "House" so is lavi. The big lavi arc is coming m8. He'll get crystal update and kick some serious ass.

I wanted to see road

she's literally in this episode quite a bit

>big lavi arc
>when we already got the Road fight shitfest
pls no

U did. She was there the whole episode m8.

not in doll form

It'll happen. Whether u like it or not m8.

U can masturbate to her sexy brown legs next episode.

next episode then

wew

Nice m8. I literally can't imagine a proper DGM threat without lenaleefaging.

Wisely is cutest Noah

Kek. Now go back to /y/ m8.

i want to thigh fuck lenalee

and have her rub her butt on my lap

Wait, D.Gray-man is back? Holy shit, I stopped watching/reading years ago because the mangaka was ill or something and everyone thought he was going to die.

What the fuck.

been back for a while now son

Did the animu pick up where the last one left off or is it entirely new?

anime picked up where it left off

Can someone explain the whole Milllenium Earl thing to me?

which part

I recently started the manga because of the new anime and the whole thing with the souls of the dead getting trapped and using their bodies for weapons fits this pretty nicely.
Its sad as fuck though. I'll get out of the thread before I get spoiled.

>I'll get out of the thread before I get spoiled.
good idea, after all Hallow is continuing the story so it expects you already know everything

its a fun series so have fun watching/read

>will have to watch Alma-suffer train animated

Do I have to watch the original D.Gray Man to enjoy this?

yes, if you want to understand

yeah its a sequel

There are too many Noah. And the powergap between them and the Order is cavernous.

If they aren't introduced one at a time monster-of-the-week-like I can't keep track of that shit.

They could destroy the order anytime the wanted to. But they keep them alive to use them for something... At least that's what bookman said.

Jackpot trips is always right!

The Earl its handsome af

So how about that one Noah who is supposed to represent judgement. His only fucking job is to prevent traitors from ruining the family and he couldn't even manage that. What a useless piece of shit.

Never thought of that but your right.

I assume he is pissed as fuck with Allen/Neah and he uses those bangs to cover his face from shame.

Is it me or is the manga art shit now. Like lenalee used to be super cute and now shes plain and generic looking.

He wouldn't properly remember messing up though, would he? I thought new incarnations of Noah, aside from Wisely, don't remember the exploits of their previous self.

However, I'd like to think Road and Wisely constantly shit on him for fucking up so badly.

What do you guys think Allen is?

a cute

Innocence.

What a cutie. No wonder they left her alive. I would have done the same.

>cursed eye just turns red
anyone else disappointed that Allen's eye isn't as cool as it once was?

He's a Bookman

>eye turning red
literally one of the biggest cliches of all time

agreed, it was very unique originally and now this boring red eye.

Is that the Babadook?

no its Alma

Underated cuteness

Not if the traitor is also an Earl of Millenium

This.
The Earl wants to be with the 14th and the rest of the Noahs have to obey him.

Except there are Noahs planning to kill him anyway already

I remember pushing the theory that the Earl and Mana were one and the same when the anime first started. But whenever I brought it up, people (rightfully at the time honestly) brought up the fact that the Earl couldn't be Mana because how would otherwise that scene with Allen turning his "father" into an Akuma due to the Earl tricking him work.

On one hand I feel really fucking vindicated right now, but on the other I'm confused as fuck as to how that makes sense still. So what do you guys think? Delusion on Allen's part, or what?

Apparently the real main villain though that seems more like a meme sprouted from speculation. Still doesn't seem like he was a very good guy compared to current Allen, considering that literally nobody has said anything about him that wasn't ominous.

The Earl or at least Mana leaking through the Earl doesn't really give a shit about that.

>Delusion on Allen's part, or what?
We've only seen Allen flashing back to that scene. Timcanpy probably saw the whole thing and will reveal the truth dramatically to someone who isn't Allen at a critical point where Allen needs to be understood in order to be stopped.

A dog.

Nah.

Don't.remind.me

Touché.

The real Earl of Millenium

So wait, Allen took his name from the dog because Mana kept mistaking him for the dog right? But doesn't Nea still refer to him as "Allen" even if he doesn't know anything about that?

So I assume that the dog was named after Past Allen or something? Because that seems way too convenient otherwise.

It's been close to 6 years since I last read DGM. Just how far along is the manga now compared to where the anime is that? I promised myself I wouldn't touch the manga until its ended but watching the anime is once again peeking my interest. I just hope Hoshino doesn't go on another hiatus, I don't think my sanity could take it.

Every DGM thread reminder that Past!Allen is responsible for:

[x] The previous Earl's disappearance

[x] Mana became the Earl

[x] Mana went batshit insane

[x] Kanda and Alma's love turned from pure to gay

[x] Lavi became a wormslut

[x] Katerina's death

[x] Timcanpy's death

[x] New anime's VA changes

[x] Bookman's promised death

[x] Apocryphos raping everyone

[x] This manga releases on quarterly schedule

Unless it was the dog that was Allen and Allen simply became a human due to the Innocence wanting to kill of the Noahs or some shit.

>Mana took a random stray puppy home
>asked Nea to name it
>Nea uses his friend's name because he is just that much of an asshole

Maybe, but that would be kind of weird for the name to pass from the original person, to a dog, to that same person who was then mistaken as the dog. Like you said, much too convenient.

I'm thinking Nea has just picked up on his new name from being in his head. Nea's been active in some form and lurking since Allen first used the piano in the Ark and has taken control a few times since. It's not unreasonable to assume that he may have been picking up things like Allen's name through however he may have been seeing things. Like, he obviously didn't see Allen himself since he didn't realize his ageing was fucked until the motel room, but I wouldn't be surprised if he could hear or perceive some things through Allen after being woken up that first time.

>Allen is Oz
>past Allen is Jack

fuck off JackFag

Honestly not much, not only that but (going by the opening) the anime is actually adapting to the point the manga is now. Which is not a good idea since there is no good cut-off point here, since it is essentially a bunch of twists thrown at us at once.

And Hoshino isn't going on hiatus, however due to the poor condition she is in, we only get four chapters per year. Which is honestly the best we can ask for considered most other people would probably retire when in her situation. Still sucks though.

Fuck me that actually sounds like a pretty likely theory.

So guys, what do you think Past Allen's endgame is? From what I can tell he is playing with the side that wants to destroy the world, so I'm curious what his agenda is going to be.

Considering the recent chapters introduced the whole "helix of life" thing, and it seems like Nea learned about it through Past Allen, I'm willing to bet it has something to do with that.

sorry but I'm a Leofag

i grew to dislike d gray man when it began to be blatantly homosexual and pandering to fujos

>what do you think Past Allen's endgame is?
it really depends on who he really is. if the theory of past allen is a bookman it'd make everything different.

Nea once said he is just as insane as Mana, so probably, Past!Allen was trying to eliminate himself

>blatantly homosexual and pandering to fujos
eh Kanda and Alma I'll give you but I fail to see how Fujo's would be entertained by AllenxJohnny.

I honestly don't understand why Hoshino is suddenly pushing Johnny so much.

Actually scratch that, I do understand it, since he is supposed to be a representation of Allen's desire to still connect with humans and all that shit. But still, it's Johnny, and he will never be interesting.

Unless, I don't know, the Order kills himor something leading to Allen becoming the next Earl in retaliation. Then he would at least be useful I suppose.

Well about the whole "Helix of Life" thing, I'm assuming that Past Allen figured out how to use it to de-age himself or something? Possibly not knowing that it would erase his memories in the process.

Question is though how Allen got the parasitic innocence in his arm then. Since I highly doubt Nea would have trusted someone with innocence when he was on the run.

I have a feeling Johnny will be the one Allen kills to become the 14th. Johnny is super expendable and is a walking death flag imo. also if he takes the bullet so Lenalee doesn't have to I'll praise Johnny for it.

The 'Neah is Jack' and 'Past!Allen is the Heart of Innocence that decided to aid Neah on the crusade against the Earl' theory won't leave me.

>Apocryphos wants to merge with Allen (the greater part of the Innocence) and wants to prevent Neah throwing off the Innocence
>Allen's Innocence is pretty powerful and gives him great regenerative abilities
>The series constantly shitting on Allen, he's 'innocent'

I also think there's something up with the Innocence eg Apocryphos is a nasty, insidious piece of shit which could also account for Past!Allen being a shit in his past life. Also, the Earl in itself is a split Noah personality, perhaps the Innocence has it's own split personality and Allen is a splinter that has developed its own sentience and has a purer personality than the rest of it and the Innocence somehow brought about the 'disappearance' of the Earl into Mana and Nea and the schizoid personal of the current Millenium Earl is brought about by the split with Mana being an imperfect host.

If Past!Allen was the 'First Disciple'.

I thought it was Mana.

That was Mana he is gonna have to kill

I'm a Rufusfag.
Jack is a shit.

I always assumed it would be Mana too, but I suppose that makes sense as well.

So who do you think is going to do the killing blow? The Order or the Noah? Though I guess the weird sentient Innocence could do it too.

Though if it were the Order, I'm afraid it is going to be a case of "he wasn't there for the whole thing, so he misunderstands and thinks the Order killed him when they really didn't" type of scenario. Getting kind of sick of those plots to be honest.

I would agree with that theory, except that Cross has mentioned a few times that Allen's current personality is largely a fabrication. His original personality was a lot more callous and rough around the edges until he adopted the "mask of mana".

Considering even when he was putting up the facade he showed a bit of a dark side every now and then, some aspect of Past Allen remained despite the apparent amnesia.

>So who do you think is going to do the killing blow?
Allen
He already killed Mana once

>So who do you think is going to do the killing blow?
I think Nea is going to kill Mana while Allen is watching and can do nothing.

PastAllen behaves a bit different from Red!Allen. While Red!Allen was an edgy brat, past!Allen talks like an old history professor

Someone please explain the whole Millenium Earl/Mana Neah/Allen thing to me, im lost as fuck with this manga.

Wish me luck finding that explanation pasta

The Millenium Earl/Adam is the first Noah persona of the person who used to be Mana (softer) and Neah (crueller) combined who seperated for some unknown reason (likely over his love for Katerina). For some unknown period of time Mana and Neah are raised thinking that they are brothers and Katerina is their mum. After an unknown incident, Katerina dies in front of the tree while it is shown that Mana is standing in front of her in Earl form (presumably the Earl Noah persona has reactivated in Mana). Neah then apparently tries to kill Mana probably over Katerina's death and Road is shown protecting Mana from Neah.

Neah then runs from the Noahs and finds himself unable to hide. He kills all the rest of the Noahs except for Road and Mana. He ends up in a situation where he is on the brink of death because of the Earl and makes a pact with Past!Allen to take over Allen's body and re-emerge at a later date.

Mana, meanwhile, suffers a mental breakdown and his Noah personality subsumes his human persona and the Earl blasts off his own face and maybe eats Neah's body (I'm not sure about this point.)

A mindfucked Mana then wanders around fearing the 'Earl' and ends up with Allen, the Allen the Dog and the Circus at some point and becomes Allen's father figure. Because his face is disguised by makeup we don't really figure that he's the Earl at this time. Presumably the Earl is latent at this point.

Eventually the Earl reactivates and Allen accidentally condemns Mana. We don't know if the Earl sent his own soul into the Akuma or part of his own soul or someone else's soul or Allen's own memories are fucked.

Fast forward and Nea re-emerges and claims that the Earl is Mana and even if he's not, he'll destroy him anyway. Whether he's just trying to claim Earlship or trying to spare Mana suffering we don't know.

>Allen is the host of the 14h Noah
>Cross and Timcampy are allies of the 14th
>14th tried to kill the Earl, killing (almost) all of the Noah at the time.
>Ran away with his brother, Mana, but Mana eventually had to kill Nea
>This is because Mana became the primary host of the Earl Noah memory.
>Neah and Mana were originally the Earl, but split in two (because of reasons)
>Mana went insane after killing Nea, blew away his face and aged up, becoming the man Allen recognized as "Mana" and his current human form
>Earl tossed away his identity as Mana, and thinks of him as a seperate person whom he hates at the moment
>Nea is back via Allen because Past!Allen promised to be his host.
>Allen is actually over 30 years old, and somehow reverted his own age/lost his memories. Used to be some sort of scientist guy.
>Apparently behind everything bad going on, or at least that's what some ominous comments about him have signaled.
>MC Allen isn't actually named Allen, he got that name from Mana's dog, who went nuts after the "Earl" killed everyone at their circus and mistook the MC (whose name was Red at the time) as his dog. Which is where he got the name "Allen"

That's all I could think of off the top of my head. Basically Nea wants to kill Mana (aka the Earl) in order to become the singular Earl again. Mana doesn't know what he's talking about because he went insane. And Allen may or may not be the source of everything in the story due to his past self's shenanigan's.

Or read the manga. Both are fine though. Skip the fillers in the early Dgrayman episodes

*
The Earl also sees Mana as a 'sin' and hates Mana. Whereas, either the Earl (wanting to be complete/sees Neah as a better host) or Mana (sentimentality) bleeding through wants to be together with Nea.

That or Mana is just quite a bit schizo whereas the other Noahs appear to be much more well adjusted and blend well as extensions of their human selves.

Ok i think i got it.

So basically, Mana is the half of the Millenium Earl who actually has awaken the Earl memories?

And here im lost as fuck again.
