I really like that Blade of the Immortal is one of the few manga that can depict people as Japanese and still make them pretty.

Nausicaa's art is fine, it's the paneling and speech bubble placement that are both garbage. The whole work feels claustrophobic.

Nausicaa looks nothing like either. It's pretty unique and takes more influence from European comics like Moebius's stuff than it does actual manga. The only other long-running manga out there that looks anything like it is Five Star Stories.

Nausicaa was never meant to be read in standard tankobon size, which is why it was never printed in it. The panel size and bubble density is fine for the size of page.

Plus you've got to admire how much information he could pack into one page, what would take modern authors half a chapter to do.
