sleepykangz

guess so, fuck it.

should start a new thread for korea general/skykangs

Getting a new BNC antenna for my scanner.
Which is recommended?
The ExpertPower® 15.5" BNC-Male Dual Band Antenna.
or
VHF/UHF 2M/70CM Antenna HYS-771N BNC Handheld Radio Antenna

Currently making a few waves,

8992hz

they're all about the same aren't they

got a ExpertPower XP-771 14.5-Inch on my memefeng

new callsign: carnegie

EAM

Skykang bump!

BUMP

Did something come through on 8992. Thought I heard something but way too much static.

I just realized I've never heard skykang live.

Got to hear one the other day. You leave it open long enough and one comes through and it kinda surprises you.

Skyking broadcast!

4724.
Carnegie.

his event occurred in the area of the previous North Korean Nuclear tests. The event has earthquake-like characteristics, however, we cannot conclusively confirm at this time the nature (natural or human-made) of the event. The depth is poorly constrained and has been held to 5 km by the seismologist. The Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) is the sole organization in the U.S. federal government whose mission is to detect and report technical data from foreign nuclear explosions.

get ready

Yesterday was funny where someone fucked one up and did 3 repeats of Skyking, then a supervisor came alone and did some weird Skyking disregard message

Man wish I'd heard that.

i got the recordings that was posted one sec

It was kinda weird. As if she got the wrong print out to read -- she then did another immediately afterwards that was later repeated by the supervisor after he shut the 3 Skyking message down.

vocaroo.com/i/s1OnqY0VL5y1

can't find the x3, just when she got kicked off the air

0037z ::ffff:73.79.230.214: SKYKING SKYKING SKYKING
0037z Thermal: She said one too many on accident by the looks of it
0037z Pika: And she didnt say do not awnser
0038z DRKSCRP: got a kang
0038z USAF Stalker: sounds like she got kicked off EAM duties whoops

>You leave it open long enough
Don't have patience for that, too many interesting things on the spectrum.

That's very amusing!

I was doing some paper work the one day and would just tune in at the sound of static coming through.

damnit

Either a collapse from the previous test, or a fission primary test.

Remember that you only need a very small A-Bomb to set off the H-Bomb.

3 months 18 days

Got an E-6B airborne

How goes it skykangs?

Slow day today.
Yesterday was pretty good. Though I haven't had much time to listen in today.

We'll know soon enough through air sensors. What depth is typical for nuke testing?

5 EAMs and 1 Skyking in the past...4 hours.

Usual for around this time, I guess.

Hot damn, Skyking

HAPPENING

Another!
The Birds!

>earthquake happened around 10am, when they always do tests
>skyking galore immediately following and still.

ha-habbening?

That was 4 fucking times, mate!

SKYKANG SKYKANG!! Was the sender authenication "the bird ZULU INDIA"?

What's up Kangz?

Saw this and rushed in here.

Second time was. The first one was something else I think.

>mfw when I've actually been on an active military network listening to them.

vocaroo.com/i/s1nvwYyArE1W

last skyking

a lot of skyking today anyways

It's fucking nothing.

As always.

You beat me to it.

There were just 4 skykings within 1 minute, and it was the 5th in 2 hours. never heard them repeat it so many times.

Well, it's something, but said something is never as exciting as people think.

B-52s moving to Guam, U-2s spying on NK, and so on.

I am someone who knows a bit on the whole SKYKING phenomenon, and I assure you that this is busy, but not unusual.

Thread should note, by the way, that the whole repeat thing is nonsense. A x4 SKYKING has no deeper meaning than a x2 SKYKING. There was never a set format for this, and that widely circulated infographic explaining SKYKING's does not help.

>A x4 SKYKING has no deeper meaning than a x2 SKYKING

NUKE NK NOW

youtube.com/watch?v=NCL_9lfvFuU

SOP when using HF freqs to say the station call sign twice.

Exactly. This is where the misconception stems from, I believe. Someone heard a x2 repeat and figured there must be a x1, x3, and x4 repeat as well.

Actually, back in the 80's we were taught to use multiple calls when atmospheric conditions were believed to be unfavorable for propagation. If your call was to someone halfway around the world you would add a few extra so they heard it and started copying your traffic.

>Someone heard a x2 repeat and figured there must be a x1, x3, and x4 repeat as well.
No, it's just a plain troll started on WebSDR.

it was a troll, pic related

WebSDR chat havin a giggle at Sup Forums and GLP

I fuuking knew it!!!!

I would think U-2s would be obsolete with the satellites we have now

U-2 can stay in international air space at 80,000 feet and take pictures

im no mil fag but there is a reason it is still used and not obsolete because of satellites

It's a 60/40 operational split lately. Satellites are rather unnecessary for the small stuff. Would not believe the cameras we've got on the U2s nowadays!

WE

Handy to have if you want to see if ROCKET MAN does an in ground test again.

The atmospherics are so bad that it's really hard to make anything out unless the signal is super strong.
