Either I'm blind or Kusanagi has little to no personality

either I'm blind or Kusanagi has little to no personality

OP I think you need to go back because you have completely missed the point.

She stoic, introspective, and professional.
There's a personality there, but its very subdued.

You are blind.

>stoic

Always the go-to defense for characters with zero personality.

That's why the anime is shit compared to the manga

Glad they didn't put any of that stupid offbeat humour into the anime

SAC major > 1995 major

>either I'm blind or Kusanagi has little to no personality
You're not blind, but you also have never read the manga.

Really this, the manga had much more time to show off the characters so a lot of her personality came out in the banter between the cases.

>manga
It's amazing that gold was made out of that turd.

no emotional expression != no personality
but mainly

You're bad at math

Isn't that kind of the point? Doesn't she struggle with emotive expression or even having a soul?

>The name of the media is Ghost in the Shell

Seriously, how dense are you?

...

>Kusanagi has little to no personality
Oshii didn't work his ass changing the tone of the thing just to copy the original Kusanagi, imo the bland dead inside thingken of life type fits more the encounter with the ia than the original who just happens to found it, but its also kind of cheap

Stoic is a personality, dumbass.

>this mad

your waifu is shit

I don't like Motoko, sperg.

Movie Major was among the least expressive yes. Manga and SAC Major are both much more so. Although in different ways and to different degrees.

The characters and tone are meant to be robotic to fit the narrative.

The mango is always better. No need to use dubs to prove that

Read the manga, plebs.

she has the stupidest fucking hair

You could say she's acting robotic

fuck off Carlos

Those dubs are incredible, math.

That's the point.

I've only seen the movie and it felt like half a story. Is it supposed to be watched at the end of the anime? Sometime between some episodes? What's the deal?

Checked.

She's a fucking robot.

But is she really human?

She's just so something new.

She's cool AND human.

This artist makes her look so snuggly.

He does a fantastic job.

He does. I quite like him.

She's a lithium flower about to bloom.

...

I wonder what she does when she wakes up?

...

>this is canon

truly superior

>end of movie Kusanagi becomes a cute loli
>end of manga Kusanagi becomes a femboy twink

Or you watched a Mamoru "Autistic" Oshii film

i skipped that ED every time :^)

I smell shitposting now

UH OH!
DRUGS!

Fuck this thread just reminded me I accidentally through out the soundtrack to Gits SAC earlier.

also for a good Oshii movie watch Avalon
it's my favorite one of his

Major is a big slut, it's disgusting.

>this scene isnt in my book
what the fuck is this real?

...

...

...

There was little to no characterization in the film. GiTS '95 was purely a study of theme with a thin plot and workmanlike characters. What it does accomplish with theme alone is obviously brilliant, and the visuals are breathtaking, but the film really does ring a bit hollow. GiTS:SAC is the best GiTS, followed the manga, followed by GiTS '95.

I always liked more the anime than the movies but i guess that's because i'm dumb and i hate psichological bullshit.

>he got the censored shit

>psichological
I fucking hate that I agree with you.

There's actually an important part of the story where she questions her humanity and emotions. You clearly didn't watch shit. She's mostly robot, and her consciousness is a mass of data.

2nd GIG ED >>> SAC 1 ED

if your use of "personality" is similar to its use in the phrase "television personality," then yes, she has no personality.

I mad as hell.

Gotta do your research onii-senpai.

I'm about to right this wrong. Just ordered an uncensored one. Unbelievable.

You won't be able to find a copy of volume 2 with all the original pages, Shirow decided to take the gratuitous sex out for the tankobon.

>this uncensored copy of GiTS was in my highschool library
I have no idea how it got past the librarians

My HS library didn't have GitS, but it was the same way with other series. They didn't bother actually looking through the things.

In the movie I could see that. The movie seems to make her more robot than human or at least she shows much less emotion, but if you are talking about the show, then yes you are blind as fuck.

If it's a first or second edition it will, dark horse didn't remove them until later, I still have my copy

But that's not the real Kusanagi.

the whole point of the original movie was her trying to find the point of her being, that she wasn't even human

1995 Major is best by far, 2nd GIG is really good but for other reasons
