correct me if I'm wrong but i vaguely remember hearing an anecdote about a Japanese man who ran a barber shop that had an overlooking view of the harbor. He was call, greeted in Japanese, and ask if all the ships where docked in the harbor. The barber shop owner answered with something along the lines of "yeah, why" and the man on the other end said thank you and hung up.
I don't understand why American try to push the narrative that this was a bad decision. This was the common way of dealing with a foreign population that might have ties to a country you are fighting.
German citizens were rounded up, too. Of course, this had already happened during WWI, and guess what? They promptly integrated completely after experiencing that social pressure. So there were none left to lock up for WWII. But in Europe and colonial holdings, you can bet your ass that Germans were rounded up the moment war broke out. Fucking Roald Dahl wrote about it in his autobiography.
Of course, my grandfather had to build a railroad to nowhere for the Japs. Every single family member I had in the colonies was put in camps by the Japs. You know what these complaining lefties call that? Justice. Karma.
They only care if it's done to non-whites. The internment policy was the way people handled this during that time. And rightfully so, given that some of the first American casualties of the war were the victims of a Japanese-American citizen who thought Hawaii was legit being invaded by the Japs, and wanted to help.

I have an interesting distinction: I have family, my grandfather among them, who's lives were saved by the nukes. They were literally digging their own graves when peace was announced. But I also have a more distance relative who was at Nagasaki, as were other Dutch POW's, and who died a year after the bombing due to radiation poisoning.
People never mention these things, of course. The bombs were a "war crime" against people so innocent that they planned to execute every single one of their POW's, and even bringing them to their homeland to do so.

American citizens were stripped of all of their property and rights and sent off to camps, and when it was over they were never justly compensated and their property was never returned. If you think it's okay for the government to nullify our god-given rights in an "emergency" then you should be okay with the prospect of you getting sent to a FEMA camp the next time a false flag or terrorist attack happens. The funny thing is the travel ban is also unstable countries like yemen where there is little to no government. A good portion of documents coming from the middle east are bound to be forged for the sole purpose of illegal immigration

I live in nipland now, but most Japs don't even know we exist and don't really know anything about Japanese-Americans, the history, and they may or may not vaguely know about internment. Nobody cares, though. (except a few internet communities that apparently hate nip-americans)
