Japanese PG12 is pretty lax. FFXV Kingsglaive is another recent PG12 CG film and it had people being burned alive, severed fingers (complete with the character trying to staunch the bleeding with whatever's available), cut throats etc.

Aren't those two the most popular aliens behind "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DIE?" I mean, when I first got into Gantz, everyone was either posting Nurarihyon, the sex scenes, or these two.

The battle against those aliens, in the manga, included the vampires and three osaka members. In the movie one of those Osaka members is obviously getting killed by the ami kiri alien, and the vampires are nowhere to be found (Sakurai and Muscle Rider are not in either as it looks), and the main point of that battle was that it was a cool sword fight, with no "samurai" around the entire fight would loose it's charm.

Can't blame them, this arc took like 5 or 6 volumes, the last 2 being against the final boss alone.

These aliens began rampaging in the whole city and killing everyone they meet, it's discutable for some aliens of other missions, but those clearly all deserved it. Not like they really tortured them either.

Pretty hype. Osaka mission is definitely top 3 of all the missions although the final boss is bullshit incarnate.

It was clearly stated that Nurarihyon regenerates from attacks he "understands" i.e. he can see.
While he was shot by the Gantz team from multiple angles he tried to locate the source and therefore the method of attack. Kato's Z-Gun slam worked because he was busy with the other team and Anzu jumping between him and Kato distracted him enough to be vulnerable.

It's not that easy, every single mission would be easier if some dude just went inside a tall building and started shooting aliens with the shotgun, why not shooting the oni alien from far away instead of fighting him? some guy even asked Hiroya why don't transfer all the giants with the gantz ball to a volcano or something, he simply replied, it would be fucking boring.

And that's the problem, following this logic Nishi should have kiled him back then, he litterally killed him when he was invinsible, and with a weapon Nurari didn't face before.

And since he was attacked by that gun before, he should have "understood" it and regenerated from Kato's spam at the end.

Still, he died. I wish it would have otherwise.

I have to add an erratum to my last post. Anzu was the first step in getting him killed for good, Host vampire's attack after that distracted him even further, giving Kato the time to fire the Z-Gun when he was not "aware" of it.
It's like you know that there is a large poisonous spider in your kitchen but you burn your hand accidentally on the stove. You forget about the spider for a moment because the burn is a more immediate danger/injury.

Also, invisibility might not necessarily work on Nurarihyon, the vampires have their contact lenses, so it wouldn't be surprising if he could see through that as well.

The X-Gun just destroy parts of the body, it was like Oka cutting the Nurahyon in half, he just took longer to recover, the H-Gun left absolutely nothing of the Nurahyon, it's not rocket science.

Eh, I think the order of weapons or even the kind is irrelevant as long as his body is completely annihilated, the H-Gun just happens to be pretty damn good at it.
The distraction part is key however. If he knows "why" he is getting hurt he can regenerate. It's all about awareness.

yeah there was a ton of soldiers fighting at the river/bridge. If im not mistaken they also surrounded Kato and some of the Gantz members at some point and the two sub bosses came and killed them. Pretty sure it was on television too.

Italy was a pretty great example of mission that was piss easy with the good strategy, but completely devastating otherwise, those aliens were incredibly strong but their durability was very low, and all looked like only have melee attacks.

Was mostly Gantz' fault for putting so much teams at the same place.

For the Italy mission the camouflage tactic actually worked, really, Nishi was just very unlucky that the Tanaka alien could see in different frequencies.

They were good. Effects were well done. Characters were cute and some were pretty cool.

Makes sense. At least this way they dont have to explain the already unexplained vampires and their presence. And you get a similar effect. I get cutting the psychics so they dont have to explain why they have those powers and others dont, but please, muscle rider-san, please...
