Mushoku Tensei

Anime for one and only best Isekai story when? Cant believe they adapt garbage like Overlord and Re:Zero, but the most popular and iconic work is still not adapted.

roxy?
0/10 awful name would not read

It's shit, Gary Stu wish fulfillment author self insert garbage

>said unpopular fanfic writer about Harry Potter

Fucking OP, you had me thinking it finally got an anime.

What if i like all 3?

> Gary Stu wish fulfillment author self insert garbage
Have you even read it?

OP you nigger.

Got me all excited

Yes, it is isekai shit where the MC has snowflake powers in addition to being an old man being reborn with his memories.

Waiting for anime adaptation for more PixivArt
When MT obtain anime adaptation i going to post every image that have (almost 100)
He isn't Op, he lost almost every 1V/s1 fight in the series

Like other anons have said before me, the anime would be met harshly and S1 wouldn't be very good. Either it'd be rush and skip over a ton of details that become important towards the middle/end of the series, or it's boring af but manages to stay 1:1; S1 would likely end before they got on the boat to travel back home, that or at the cat village

If somehow the ship didn't sink by S1, the following season would ALSO be pretty fucking garbage for the most part with it ending on him getting married to sylphy

The good stuff wouldn't come until S3, and that's a long fucking wait for anime peons.

>inserting into a character that has flaws and actual character
How. You're just saying meme words buddy.
He has several character arcs that involved fixing mistakes he made originally, and while it doesn't change what he's done, it gives a sense of healing for him.
He also gets his ass kicked CONSTANTLY
Go read the series.

>MC has snowflake powers in addition to being an old man being reborn with his memories.
>What is a MC? for 500$ Bob

This is without doubt the best isekai series, though i`d actually agree with user telling its "wishfulfilment" story - but see nothing wrong with it. Its very well done, very entertaining, has a great character and a true joy to read.

While he is powerful Gray Stu implies someone who never fails(which he does quite often.) and is the best(which he isn't)

so not only he has op powers like seeing future but is also a jobber despite of that? sounds fucking terrible

Way too long for an anime, but I'll settle for the manga

>how shitposters can turn a situation into shit no matter the conversation

The anime could be carried by characters alone, ending first season pre Teleportation Incident would be ok (or rather, AT teleportation incident).

They'd also would most likely have to omit sex scenes which are pretty important to the series

I have to admit I'm kinda jelly, i wish i could be this good at shitpost and baiting. That user is an role model

>the anime would be met harshly
Except it wouldn't because LNfags will spoil things and we'll get a repeat of Re: Zero. Mushoku is popular enough.

>Anime for one and only best Isekai story when?
It's only high tier if you're only counting recent / ongoing isekai stories, and even then I'm not sure it's the best.

>op powers like seeing future
He can see literally 3 seconds into the future
And if the opponent is smart he can't even do that much. Ruijerd kicked his ass the second he thought he could beat anyone with those few seconds.

That's snail pace user
EP 1 - Reincarnation + Roxy training
2/3 - affair w/paul; b-day, roxy departs
3 - Sylphy + sword training
4-7 Eris Arc
8-12 Ruijerd adventures

It depends; even the WN wasn't too explicit, it could have topless scenes. Hopefully without beams of holy light in the BD

You're probably right, average anime watcher ended up enjoying the trashcan adaption called Tokyo Ghoul.
I had higher opinion of them...

except im not the guy you replied to before, also
>no reply to the argument
>s-shitposters

>it's shit because he's OP!
>He's not OP, he loses a lot
>I-it's shit anyway!

If I want to read about a jobber mc that loses all the time Im gonna go read Bleach, it seems about same tier piece of shit anyway

Friendly reminder not to respond to obvious shitposts :^)

read my post pls, I never said it was shit because hes op, like I said Im not the guy you replied to before, I'm fine with op characters if theyre well written, but if hes OP as well as being a jobber, then thats another matter

As much as I loved this LN, I'm not sure how successful it will actually be. People are already tired of the "trapped in a fantasy world/video game" meme. Adapting it in 22 minute entertaining chunks would be difficult.

jesus who cares just stop you two already derailed the thread

From what I've read he's not OP at all, especially compared to most current isekai protagonists.

All he got was a head start mentally and a healthy body.

Although the beginning is the best part people will complain nothing happens until the second half even if they adapt everything from vol 1-6.

If it gets an anime and it's halfway decent it could just pull an Overlord and get people to read the LN. I'd be happy with that.

>People are already tired of the "trapped in a fantasy world/video game" meme.
I don't even understand this. There was only Overlord and Konosuba and they were already "tired"? Like who the fuck are these "tired" people? Overlord and Konosuba was a super success. People wanted more, but then there's the people on the opposite spectrum who are "tired"? What the fuck?

With 12 Ep, the best point to end is in vol3
With 24 Ep, the best point to end is in vol7
He victories is more in team, he lost 1Vs1 because he is a mage, and he is bad in close combat

Sword Art Online 1 and 2 as well as Log Horizon.

I don't understand it myself. I honestly quite like the "genre" if you can call it that. There are plenty of people, however, who would drop a show just because it has that element. I have a close personal friend who acts like that and I can't stand it.

how exactly did I derail the thread? is it because I think that the story and characters are shit and not deserving an anime and you disagree? You might as well say "anyone who has a different opinion cant post in this thread"

No Game No Life as well. Strange that people hate it because most of these are good shows too...

Overlord and Re:Zero are objectively better. Don't get me wrong, I read the whole thing and enjoyed it for the most part. But the characters other than Rudy and the Human God are all paper thin. The quality kept going consistently down as well, pre-academy>academy>dungeon>Orstead's follower

Why did Eris get the least amount of adult screen time? I don't think Rudi had a single heartfelt conversation with her after their marriage.

>objectively
careful with that word friend entertainment is subjective

Wait, what? Did he always use two swords?

I might be mistaken, but the short sword is the one that can cut through anything, and the long sword is the one that Norn had hanging in her room?

In the labyrinth, Paul use his sword and a sword that he buy in the city where more defense=more damage

Because by the time she entered the Harem team the SoL stuff was already over and we were heading into endgame. She had as much screentime as Roxy/Sylph post rudeus/orsted fighting each other

I mean if you want to argue that Sylphy and Roxy both had their own separate Rudy arcs after that point, Eris WAS there with Sylphy as well and she had a whole arc up on the girls from the very beginning.

I do think one extra mission with just the two of them would've been nice though.

Also can anyone care to explain why the extra chapters with Ars/Aisha are so hated?

I never got around to reading any of the extras besides the Norn Marriage stuff.

>/ss/
>Rudy attitude to this
>/ss/
>Aisha attitude to this
>Fucking /ss/

>If somehow the ship didn't sink by S1, the following season would ALSO be pretty fucking garbage for the most part with it ending on him getting married to sylphy

Don't diss on sylphy user or I'll cut off your testicles.

I don't have a problem with her user. But you have to admit the academy arc was zzzzz overall.
Especially from the anime perspective. It didn't feel that bad to me personally since I was able to blitz through it but it's literally straight dialogue for roughly 10 episodes.
That's hard to stomach.

Especially when Sylphy was so obviously Fitz the entiiiiiire time
It felt like the author didn't think people would figure it out so fast so tried to throw in a few more curveballs

>people crying about Rudy being OP
Am I the only one who was infuriated how he was actually such a weakling despite being so powerful. He didn't use his powers effectively at all, I really hate him.

You wot m8?

Pegasus would probably easily beat him

>but the most popular and iconic work is still not adapted.

Because MT author hate anime adaptations, and look all those garbage anime of Re:Zero, Overlord and other; he´s right.

>Wait, what? Did he always use two swords?
thats his father you fucking idiot.

and yes, his father was advanced->saint ranked in ALL THREE STYLES of sword fighting. Had he not stopped adventuring and married best milf, he might have become a king level in sword god/northern god and water god style, and be perhaps one of the greatest swordsmen on the continent.

he was no slouch.

>A new arc
it´s another arc where Rudeus rape and impregnated one or more women? same that the 21 previous arcs?

...

>Liking ntr shit.

I actually read all 3 series of light novels. They're completely different series with completely different goals, and three different writing strengths.

YES, overlord is perhaps the best "technically" written light novel out there. The writer writes at about a college level of education. that said, though his vocab is extensive and his writing style mature, his actual story is mediocre (yes, overlord is mediocre)

Re:ZERO is torture porn. Its good if you like that shit, but remember, nothing in this story gets a happy ending.

Mushaku Tensei is perhaps the lowest level of technical skill in the writing of the three. It's basically standard light novel skill level (aka highschool fanfic). The difference between it and all other poorly written LNs out there is this one has a good, well written story, with good characters and solid overarching plot. It has it's weaknesses, still this series gripped my attention like no other LN series out there, so yes, this probably should be considered the best on on the market. it's got a good story, good characters and a well conceptualized fantasy world (something which is quite important for a fantasy novel)

You're overestimating Paul. I can't source the chapter but it was pretty much stated he would only be able to have advanced in Northern God Style and he had hit his limit in the other branches.

But even then that's pretty fucking amazing for the average person in MT.

>Pegasus would probably easily beat him
which is hilarious when you think about it, because rudy in theory could grind his sky palace to dust and slaughter all his servants and himself with a pre-emptive assault.

Rudy's main problem was he simply didn't believe he was strong enough to win most battles and held back his strength so he'd always have a way out. this is why his takedown of the northgod was so cool, it was the one time he went all out in a fight and actually won (he went all out several times before but always lost)

when paul stopped adventuring he had hit advanced in all 3 styles.

However at the time of the labyrinth journey, its stated that paul probably had broke into saint ranked with his swordsmanship.

Kill yourself for liking this shit

Pegisus strength is undefined too as with Rudy we know he can create spam nukes

MT is the most overrated Isekai series, and it's only well liked because it was one of the first of its genre. In fact, you can blame it for the current slew of Isekai novels shitting out of the LN industry.

>blame it
You mean praise it.

Wish I could read Japanese so we could double confirm power rankings as that details in the story that may not change outcomes in the plot

Which is funny because it's probably going to be the last one adapted and anime only are going to say it ripped ideas from outbreak companie ,rezero and konosuba which are all paradie or reconstuction of the gene

Kuro no Maou predates MT.

His power is a least Emperador/almost God class, because he can maintain around 10 servants and Arumanfi is a least equal to ghyslayne (And she is king class), maybe if he battle with all his servant is a least 4° or 5° in the World Ranking

to be clear, you mean you read the original japanese?

I remember reading the translation of the WN but it was so terrible I couldn't endure it anymore.

I don't see how this Isekai could trump Re:Zero.

Re:Zero is not all torture porn. At least it is not set in a fucking video game (I'm looking at you Overlord). There's themes whether people or not realize it. I love the world building, interactions, and parallels. I also love the depth characters have.

>It's like I've never read an Isekai before?????

I'd rather this remains as the penultimate Isekai and never goes anime. I have a feeling Death March will get adapted though, but that really depends on how well those Light Novels get pushed out.

>penultimate
What's the best then?

The readers have better taste than anime fandom, and are against the defiling of the purity for their fav. shota.

Actually they didn't want Aisha to be dishonoured and abandoned by the family after all she has done, I feel that would of been a larger trigger despite it being /ss/

Nah, for all its million chapters it still manages to do less than stuff like lazy king.

but overlord isn't set in a videogame?

I kind of meant that it's the last of the Isekai that would most likely garner attention, this genre is just like Guro Survival for me, there isn't one series that stands out and all of the stories have one glaring flaw that could never allow an objective first place.

I don't consider anything better than Mushoku Tensai in it's genre. Even after reading Konjiki no Moji Tsukai, Genjitsushugisha no Oukokukaizouki, Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu, The New Gate & Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyusoukyoku, Shield Bro, Slime or Spider No Waii.

The ones with anime adaptions like Grimgar & Overlord their stories are just ok as well.

you know people here keep saying this story is great and gush over it endlessly, but every time I read stuff people mention about it it just sounds so fucking terrible
are anons just bad at selling it or would I just never like it anyway?

Similar concept to The New Gate, where the NPC's closest to you are sentient in the new realm, for overlord it was a completely new fantasy world, New Gate was 500 years and the NPCs were free to move.

yeah but I mean it's not in a videogame

>cash shop items

>defending the steaming pile of shit that is mushoku tensei
wew lad

this user knows

yes, they were in a videogame and now they're not, that's the source of the isekai shit in the story

You're missing a few buzzwords

Just got ported there with him.

This depend of your taste in series, in Sup Forums you always find threads where says that x anime is Shit, i don't remember a series where every anons agree that is a good series, for example if you dislike SoL series, even if anons says that Aria or Natsume are masterpiece, you may never like this series.

well I like overlord, and I think the new gate is pretty good, I suppose theyre both "established character" isekai and not reincarnation type like MT, but I don't have anything against isekai stories

I want to finally get into this series. Sorry in advance for asking something that's probably asked all the time, but do I go manga, LN, or WN?

Then there's the technique God whose a complete mystery as he definitely has no magic

drifters is a better isekai story

>liking a pile of shit that is MT

will we get another PAUL cover or did he died in this volume?

There's already a vocal community that hates Isekai, and has always given LNs and especially Mushoku Tensei shit.

There are still many from years ago when the WNs were being translated people dropped it because muh Eris and the story became a proper harem.

To be fair they didn't develop her at all despite the parts on her being an asset in a fight.

For people that say it's wish fulfilment, that's like the fucking definition of 'being transported into a fantasy world'. Shit posters just shitting on a genre they don't like here in a topic they don't belong in.

Reminder to start flagging obvious troll bait in threads or else this place will end up as the next Sup Forums, it's almost guaranteed reply too since they never been called out in the last 2 years.

The problem with MT is that despite the world building being pretty good, I find Rudy at the beginning to be pretty hard character to relate to personally. He just comes off as a creepy pedophile with the way he creeps on Eris and those wolf/cat lolis and even Aisha. It's good that the main character of a LN/WN series is a perfect snowflake, which is a problem the genre is plagued with, but I just can't bring myself to like him at all until after he joins the college.

>It's good that the main character of a LN/WN series is a perfect snowflake
*ISN'T a perfect snowflake is what I meant to say.

Go in order, WN since the start of the LN has been mostly unchanged, the LN does an extra character arc on his solo journey before he gets to the Magic Academy.

Manga is great for character art reference if imagination isn't up to scratch.

>Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu
I like this one because it kind of reminds me of MT.

I was about to say this in defence of it, which a lot of people don't get. The farther you have fallen as a degenerate in Sup Forums, the more you would definitely enjoy this story.

Normalfags would easily discredit Rudy in the beginning and won't be able to relate too well, but when you hit the redemption parts it becomes better for everyone. The only hurdle after that would be giving him the benefit of the doubt for his choices, because in every Isekai if you are too removed from the story you'd always say 'should of done this better' since you have a hindsight perspective of his situation and the motives of the people around him.

The WN is almost the same that the LN, the most notable change is the Ln7 where that happens between Wn6 and Wn7
You can read the manga to obtain a general idea of the series and some only manga illustration, the manga cover the the first 2 vol and 3/4 of vol3.
The synopsis implies that this going to be like the WN
