Can I get a red pill on windmills Sup Forums? I have these fucking things in my area of residence and I fucking hate them. I hate looking at them, and I hate the way they ruined the beautiful landscape. I've read about them being horribly inefficient but jewgle is only showing fake news about them now. Ontario pays billions for electricity now because of policies to be "green energy" and from windmills. You can look up the kwh costs and it looks fine for them, but they have literal "delivery fees" for energy now that are through the roof in costs. all because they think its better to gouge the citizens, pay money to jews and call it renewable energy than to fucking support real energy. the maintenence and costs for installation and energy generated combined with destroying the fucking countryside and having these ugly ass fucking windmills covering your horizon and viewpoints just further communist fucking destruction and demoralization of populations.

Windmills are only effective in a handful very, very specific areas (at least in the US) but for some reason they much more widespread than that. There’s no reason to blindly hate them because the gov has decided to put them up everywhere they can even if they are inefficient.

Windmills are a solid way to add to our power generation. They're fairly cheap per kilowatt (If installed where they should be) at around $.04/kwh.
However we shouldn't just be placing them all over because of muh carbon tax. They're ineffective except for very specific areas (mainly off shore because winds coming in over the ocean can produce baseline power. does get more expensive to install out there but its worth it).
They kill a buttload of birds which is a problem as well. Less damaging to birds when theyre offshore I believe.
Solar is already better, tidal/wave power has the potential to be way better. We're pretty much at maximum efficiency in wind turbine designs. They're not great but generate cheap clean power if done correctly.

This. Same thing here in Germany. Lot's of state gibs going into this shit (and solar panels). Electricity prices are through the roof. At the same time we build more coal plants to replace the base load capacity we lose as we turn off our nuclear plants.
Just another one of these suicidal, anti progress, anti civilization things the left likes so much. And as a weapon against civilization and progress it's scarily effective:
1) It keeps lots of engineering talent busy with useless make-work that will never lead to any real progress.
2) It ties up a lot of money that could otherwise be used for useful stuff.
3) It generally increases the price of getting things done (pretty much anything requires electricity). And that's hefty (compare Germany and Hungary - it's a factor of 3)
4) It depends on state funding, thus giving the state an excuse to raise taxes.
5) It destabilizes the Power grid, sometimes causing blackouts and brownouts. Gets people used to the idea of "electricity is a privilege, not a right"
6) It is a handy device for destroying the independence the internal combustion engine gives people ("We need to force everyone to buy electric cars so we can use them for storing some of our unreliable energy"). No more hoarding barrels of fuel for bad times or preventing centralized infrastructure from leaving you stranded any time they chose ("People in this area are getting a bit uppity, let's just drain their batteries").

In Texas, we have a ton. We also have some of the strongest winds in the country. We also have a deregulated market that prices power by the minute so baseload plants make money if there is shitty wind. So, even without the federal subsidies, they would make money.

After Fukushima they've started closing their nuclear reactors and going full "green". Yes, if you look up a list of the largest capacity power plants you will find two lists. One for conventional/nuclear sources, and one for hydroelectric. The largest nuclear plant has a fraction of the capacity of the 5th largest hydroelectric dam, and practically all the misconceptions about renewable energy being viable comes from the fact that hydroelectric is.
Geothermal power is also viable as a renewable source but I've read it also generates huge clouds of terrible smelling gases and isn't really suitable to be used in populated areas

Yep. We definitely need to get cracking on building new reactors, reprocess spent fuel rods instead of burying them somewhere we cannot even get at them anymore and bootstrap the Thorium fuel cycle to the point where it can sustain itself.

People have tried here, but they always get out gunned by the 'green' lobby, i.e the entire government and state broadcasters covering up and shilling by omission. ON has some of the largest nuclear plants in the world, + Niagara falls, every small town also has a small scale damn on the local river, our power should be cheep as fuck. Our government just keeps throwing away money on politically correct projects, people are getting fed up, most of this shit probably will end next election when the 10+ years of liberal are finally voted out because people are finally realizing we are broke as fuck.
