WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING Sup Forums

What the fuck happened Sup Forums? For the past 3 months, my internet has been dropping randomly. My vpn also keeps dropping randomly, even when i'm connected. Certain sites, like this one also become dropped randomly. I pay for one of the unlimited high speed packages from time warner and use opendns. I also ran wireshark and kismet to find intruders but never found any. Why is this happening? Is it the fucking ISPs? Is it the fucking net neutrality shit that happened months ago? Or is it the three letter agencies just fucking around? Also, is any other user having this problem?

It must be a conspiracy. We are fucked. Dog help us.

It's actually fucking ridiculous. Sites like duckduckgo and this site are slow as fuck but google and youtube are still blazing fast. Some sites won't connect while others still connect.

same here op.

Exact same condition.

I think bailing from time warner is the best thing to do in times like this. if not. always be on a vpn if possible.

Except my area only has one choice. And my vpn, which works perfectly well when i'm traveling, becomes really slow and even drops randomly when i'm home.

Did you god emperor already dismantled net neutrality?

Apparently some at&t panjeet he hired did it to"encourage innovation."

Call your ISP?

Is it your entire internet service? Or your router?

What you describing is basically what happens after you lose net neutrality.

Time Warner customer service is shit. They just say they will work on it.

could it be you have shit cable, or something is causing you to loose signal at a physical layer. Call a tech out dont be cheap, or learn how to test and fix your own coax.

So will they start making this situation worse and worse? Will cnn and google be the only sites that run at good speeds now? Guess I'm fucked

The sites which provide more income to your isp will work fine.

Transfer speeds within my internal network (like my home ftp servers) is blazing fast so it can't be a router issue.

wtf is happening to my connexion Sup Forums ? it's like this since 1 week

Spectrum IT user here. I am not aware of any traffic throttling projects, they would need to go through us. That being said we don't control your connection end to end. I've noticed poor performance on certain alt sites but chalk it up to low tier hosting plans.

Could be something more sinister though, some sites also now have such awful advertising pushes they are unusable on mobile.

What state do you live in?

NC fag here, same. Paying for the ultimate package and the shit keeps dropping in and out. Thought it was my router but after weeks...

California unfortunately. I have a good job and house here so I don't know if I want to move out yet

getting you used to less for more

nah man they must be onto you
just delete your browsing history and start using incognito mode, you'll be fine

Have them give you a new modem

This may not make sense but

Its bottle necking your service. You only have a certain amount of time like 3pm til8pm to be online when they open the network larger then after that they slow down your connection.

Doesn't explain why some sites load so much faster than other sites. I mean there is a significant difference now. My connecting to Sup Forums randomly drops but google and kikebook is still fucking blazing

>give you a new modem

Do you guys get your modems from your isp there?

Yeah i live in california too and spectrum said its basically slowing down your connection speed. They did it to.me when i was fapping i had to literally wait 5 min for a video to load 2 min with my dick on hard.

They had a coast to coast outage for hours the other day. Always seems to follow some Nork news. I was heistant to start this idea here but it keeps crossing my mind that the US is probably getting hit with massive cyber attacks. Might even have actual sabateurs cutting lines.

?

Have them check your signals then try swapping modem. Sadly common issue with that service.

This. This might actually be fucking true. But why do I also get random power outages? Like it hits our entire area too

plz answer, i can't into vidya

Holy Shit OP!
i know exactly what you mean

My Inernet was slow as fuck too, but after i searched around I found a solution.z

What you need to do is delete system 32
seriously you don't need that shit its eating up all your bandwidth

Don't worry you can thank me later

Yeah, they "lease" it to you for an extra $3/month in your contract, unless you choose to buy your own

If you have a mitm attacker (i did gov agency) your https will let you know your traffic is being intercepted. Also do a traceroute.

I'm pretty sure I don't have a mitm attacker. I scan the devices on my network pretty often.

Use traceroute to find all the addresses it hops through before it gets to whatever you're pinging, then start pinging each hop until you find the one that's bottlenecking you

the default DNS servers my ISP uses have been shitting the bed lately.

Alright. I'll try that. Thanks a lot user

It's possible that Time-Warner is basically caching the most popular sites on their own network for the illusion of speed, but that your actual connection to the real internet is 100% shit (which could be the modem or 100 other things)

>
>What you describing is basically what happens after you lose net neutrality.
Nope. Bandwidth hogs would be throttled or forced to pay by isp's instead of costs being transferred to end users like you. Net neutrality is corporate rent seeking.

Or maybe they don't want people to go on Sup Forums. Maybe they also purposely target packets that seem like vpn packets.

And the radiation spikes are off the charts! Why, I ask you?

>older macbook
common problem, but not officially acknowledged by apple

Bought my own, paid for itself in like 3 months. Pretty sure they dropped the lease fee now that they're Spectrum, but my bill jumped up $10 for no reason.

thank user

could be your 10 year router you fucking retard

Had the same issue, went to spectrum offfice and they said I might want to replace my TWC router/modem as it was 2 years old and was told they don't last much longer than that before they start to degrade. Got the newest model which was way bigger and have not had the issue any more. I was also told this new version would allow me to get faster speed which I was paying for anyway.

>traceroute

is this normal ? or is a kraut fucking with my connexion ?

Thought I was the only one, my roommate is a gamer and pays for us to have the fastest possible internet connection available, quite expensive all things considered.

And surprise surprise, the connection is fucking garbage, randomly drops for no reason and stays dropped for hours at a time, and super slow regardless. Funnily enough, he said it only started getting bad once I moved in. He freaked out at first and thought I was torrenting or watching tons of porn, but after confirming I wasn’t now he thinks someone is fucking with us.

I’m sure it’s nothing though, not like the (((company))) would have anything to do with it, of course not!

Only a retard rents a modem. You can buy an arris surfboard for like 70 usd, rather than getting jewed 10 dollars every month.

Strange this thread came up now. I've been a TW(now Spectrum) customer for 12 years. I rarely ever have problems with my internet. Today I've been having trouble loading webs pages, even Google. My browser keeps given an error about not being able to securely connect. This is the first time I've ever seen this.

it happen everywhere ur not alone.

i've got 20 youtube videos open right now. no problem. the only time it tanks is downloading games.

Wow, I thought it was just me. I'm on a Mac, so when I turn wifi on, I can see the signal strengths of people (I guess) near me. There are 2 ATT accounts that, when I pull my router, at least one of their signal strengths drops- at least temporarily. Sometimes both. It appears that this happens to a couple of neighbors that I know. We've talked about it.
I assume they're gamers & stealing bandwidth because it only happens, usually, at certain times of day.

Here's what I do:
As soon as I noticed I'm knocked offline, turn off the wifi. Pull the router cord from the back of the router. If the modem goes down, I disconnect the power cord. Wait a few minutes- go do dishes or something else. When I come back (or a few minutes later), plug in the modem & wait for it to boot up. Then plug the router cord back & watch the lights while dropping down the wifi thing. As soon as the third light comes on, hit "on" and as soon as I get signal, hit refresh (sometimes the signal cycles twice).
99% of the time, it's back up & I don't have a problem for hours, days, or even a week or more.

This has happened before- off & on for a couple of years. I've called TW/ Spec. Sometimes, they "fix" it & we've changed our modem twice. Once, they sent me straight to a security guy. More often, lately, they want to send somebody to the house. Big PITA- moving stuff & we've got dogs, so not that. Plus, it's too sporadic. If it were the connection, it would be obvious.
One time, I asked if it would be better to file a complaint with the FCC. lol They freaked out.
I didn't do it right then, but at one point (I won't say when), I got really pissed off & did file a complaint. I'm in the queue, so we'll see what happens with that.

One other thing. When "they" knock me off line a couple of times close together, I unplug the modem for hours & go do other stuff and I often unplug it over night.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Hope it helps.

ok not 20. but thats the only time it's slow.

You got the Kike Flu.
It's time for

Unreliable connection? Proper VPNs cut off traffic when there is packet loss by default, to protect your privacy.
t. CCNA

Pedophile symbol used for corporate logo. There is your answer.

>For the past 3 months, my internet has been dropping randomly.
Yeah, mine too. I just took it as Comcast being shitty.

You are flagged by your ISP as a supporter of hate speech which makes them throttle your connection and fuck with it in other ways as well. They also raise their information gathering on you (you go on a watchlist that CIA has almost direct control of)

I need the redpill on Spectrum. Anyone help a pleb out?

Did you learn English yet, faggot?

What would explain muh internet dropping completely at around the same time every night? Usually lasts about a minute

However, if you do this, any time you have a problem, tech support will absolutely refuse to help you and blame it on your modem. Its the catch 22.

t. Tech support for Verizon's DSL, but all ISPs do this.

It's weird that you say this because at 1am last night i got a full screen pop-up prompting a restart for a update, something that's not happened in years. Right after i restart, my connection went to shit with every click taking 30secs+ to load. I restarted my modem and the problem persisted, woke up the next day and the problem was still there, came in from work and it was still there. I ended up using system restore to try and fix it, still there, ended up resetting to factory settings, still there. I'm mega tilted by this point so i turn the PC off. Try again in a couple hours and the connection was fine, problem had gone. Have to re-install all the software i lost, lost all my bookmarks, add-ons, plugins, settings, pics, fap folder, everything. Fucking megatilted.

Which windows is that?

8.1

Use Peerblock to monitor every connection that hits a destination:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PeerBlock

That's exactly why. I had this old windows 8.1 laptop which had weird networking problems and graphics driver problems after certain updates. Windows 8 and 8.1 is shit- tier. Stick with 7 or 10, but make sure to stop the tracking shit

That software blacklists so many sites. It's fucking ridiculous

its a domain name name maybe>?

I started getting this same problem when I dropped the TV and phone package. Thought I'd just stream from now on, but nope. I lose my connection constantly and had to give up online gaming.

Check this out ! Anyone else?

Mine does the same thing

I'm not an expert, but I've been around the block, experienced it myself, and it would seem to be like a ddos attack. But in this case instead of targeting you directly, it's targeting the exit or entrance of your ip or proxy onto those site addresses.

>following this post thread goes from page 2 to 6
Guess I was right. Fucking CIA niggers. Bump for running over globalist niggers

Ive got this alot recently. We're being phised. The trouble is im using a virgin phone paid cash only ever visit Sup Forums and play heathstone and ive had loads of suspisious stuff like this.

It worked fine before and works fine now. I had suffered slumps in internet connection before but just not for as long as this, of this nature and as coincidentally as this. I was at a loss as to what caused it, to the extent i basically tore my PC apart trying to fix it. It had never been like this before. It was like it was going through a proxy, the TLS handshake thing was taking forever, insecure connections, connection timed out, my task manager was showing 0kbps, 8 kbps, jumping to 20mbps for something, dropping back down and timing out. It was a complete shitshow.

Now it's page nine the CIA must be doing overtime today

Can confirm on mobile now.
Lowend LG gophone on str8talk

Shit like CNN and BBC work like a charm but specifically here is bad

Fucking cia niggers

me too. but its always between 1-2am. itll go down for like 5-10 minutes

Supporting a JEW in which uses a bus based bandwidth medium screams pure Socialism at its core! Hows that working out for you? Not very well for what it looks like. I recommend moving over to a more "American" like medium such as fiber optic, AT&T,Verizon or even Level3. A Dedicated collision domain at the last hop can do wonders during peak hours and you get what you pay for! None to worry about all the other jews around you sucking all up your available data freedums...

Why not instead support

i always had a feeling the random drops at night were to kick people off of the internet who had left devices streaming and if they aren't near them to restart the stream or activity it would free up bandwidth and the people who are actively using the internet would just reconnect and continue.

It's probably 99% of websites

it's called Content Delivery Servers.
