The only characters left that I give the slightest shit about are Jean and Hanji but I can't bring myself to keep following this series, even for them. This chapter is proof that waiting for payoff is a waste of time and energy.

He was already useful without being a titan. And he'll be a plain titan that let's out steam on the best case scenario. The serum thing was just a way for Isayama to asspull Armin back. He'll rarely shift, Eren is their only relevant champion.

Yet Rod is completely okay with letting Eren run around the walls outside like a retard. What if Annie had actually nabbed Eren while outside the walls, or BR had successfully gotten away? The coordinate would have been lost to the wall people forever. Sure, he made his move after it became certain Eren had it, but it didn't take a genius to figure out he was a damn likely candidate. How many titan shifters could there possibly be who are both in the walls and would be willing to sacrifice themselves for a kid who is not a part of the village faction?

I thought things would become clearer as we got more chapters but as we get farther away all the reveals from the political arc make even less sense in retrospect. For example, why are Rod/the powers that were completely okay with sending Historia off to die in the Suicide Legion despite understanding why a Reiss needs to ingest the coordinate and knowing that Rod was a pussy who didn't want to go through with it? What if Historia died at Trost and Rod hit his head one day and croaked? Then the coordinate is useless to them, even if they get it's current possessor. Why was their priority not preserving all available Reiss blood and making more as soon as humanly possible? Rod is never shown to have a second wife or other family at all, which would weigh into the political arc if it did anywhere.

This bullshit doesn't make sense.
