>tfw wanted to watch the newest ep of New Game! so badly that I watched it in public and it was embarrassing
Do people on Sup Forums hide their powerlevel?
Tfw wanted to watch the newest ep of New Game! so badly that I watched it in public and it was embarrassing
>I was outside
>Having morals
Did I watched episode 3 of Hakuoki Reimeiroku on in a public toilet while having a shit with no headphones.
I watched 4 episode of Capeta while on jury duty break.
Nobody cares.
I'm pretty sure watching those don't make you look like a blazing homosexual like New Game does.
>people with that much self-confidence
>on my Sup Forums
Why would watching a bunch of girls in panties be homosexual? Unless you're a grill, of course.
It's not nearly as much self-confidence as you think, /r9k/
Did you get bullied or something?
No, I just don't watch anime in public, or even mention it in public. I feel shame whenever it is brought up in public and avoid it like the plague. It is the logical thing to do, user. Hell, even normal Japanese people act like that. You never reveal your powerlevel. Ever.
No. When I was in high school during breaks I was watching anime. It wasn't even cool back then.
Didn't give a fuck because I'm a cool-ass motherfucker.
>at McDonalds the other day, eating before i go to the hospital
>hear a loud, distinct sound that could only be the cry of a troubled loli
>whatthefuck.jpg
>scan for the source
>20-something year old spanish dude watching an episode of something (possibly Ilya) in the middle of the packed McD's with the volume on MAX
>absolutely no one cares or notices but me and the little girl sitting next to him
Fuck you and your shitty blog-thread.
>(possibly Ilya)
There's a thin line between confidence and being oblivious to other people's perception.
Anyway, anniemays aren't that much of a big deal if you are in uni or hs.
People were probably with their eyes glued to their smartphones.
I have evolved to a stage where I do not give a fuck, after hiding my power level too well for the past decade
Yesterday a colleague asked me if I watched any anime at all. He didn't believe me when I said that I have watched all the annie-mays so I promptly and unintentionally spoiled him the ending of psycho pass. He didn't believe the hyper oats stuff at first though
sageru for this kuso ass thread
Nothing embarrassing about the ぞい
>leave the McD's, head across the street
>the sound of loli is following me
>guy is now standing next to me on the curb, eyes glued to his phone
>crowd of people around me still doesnt give a shit
>he walks alongside me into the hospital (his job i guess), never looking up or turning to the sounds of "HIIYAAAAAHHHH"
>sounds fade as he disappears into the chaos
it seems like if you dont care what other people think, no one seems to pay you any mind.
>Do people on Sup Forums hide their powerlevel?
Of course. I'm not ashamed of it, but most anime fans either just don't know what they're talking about or are ironically way too concerned with seeming normal, so eventually I decided it wasn't worth it.
>watching chinese cartoon outside your room
what, are you gonna use your phone to watch your cartoon? don't do that.
I hide the powerlevel to not be put in the same box as those guys dressing up as naruto in the street.
Pretty much. Ever seen videos of people shoplifting?
>pic
Top notch collision detection there.
yeah. it was pretty embarrassing, i didnt look half as cool on camera as i thought i did while i was doing it
>reading Grisaia during lectures
>sitting about 3 rows from the back
>suddenly that one CG with Amane changing in the room pops up, her bare tits filling half my screen
>hear whispers coming from behind me
>decide fuck it and just keep reading anyway
>pack up and leave after lecture's over
>a couple 3DPDs shoot weird looks at me as I walk out nonchalantly
And on that day about 2 years ago I stopped giving a fuck.
Sage for blogshit.
...
I started college shortly before Geass R2 ended. I loved the final scene so much that I watched it again in the campus computer lab, not off to the side but one of the ones in the center in view of everyone. That's the most explicit thing I've done; occasionally I'll read manga in public. It's not a big deal, nobody cares who you are, and if they make fun of you, it won't be to your face unless you are in a true shithole.
Tbh the only one to hide your powerlevel early on is.. Whatever chick you're interested in. Unless she's a legit geek grrrl. And even then those usually seek normalfag boyfriends.
>set an anison as my ringtone
>I'm in the bus and somebody decides to call me
>guy at about my age nods to me
>he did not say anything, but I knew what he was going to say - "hell yeah motherfucker"
>I could only nod back as I picked up my phone.
it was the Joshiraku ED
Clearly doing intensive research for work, you can tell by the lines in his brow. So dedicated, he evens works on the way home, what a guy
I saw some ese on the bus yesterday watching the latest episode of DBS on his phone; he was trying to cover it up with his hands best he could, but I caught him.
Blog thread, nice
>at McDonalds
>watching Gochiusa with headphones
>'why the fuck I can't hear almost everything'
>volume MAX
>here comes the realisation that I forgot to plug headphones in
Nobody cares: confirmed. Maybe someone cares, but they're not brave enough to show their disgust
I-I agree
Feels good to live in a place where Dragon Ball is the most normalfag. I hear people my age talking about DBS all the time while I pass by.
>watching new game
The best type of anime related ringtone is a ringtone that's subtle.
It creates conversation and amusement.
hmmmmmm....
>it was the Joshiraku ED
everyone knows about DBZ here, but anime is really normalfag in general where im from. i live in a city where anime or nerdy stuff is barely ever noticed unless people are telling me my shirts cool or something. we have a lot of legitimate weirdos to make fun of. i spent some time in the country this summer and realized what true isolation is like - i cant imagine being an outed otaku in a small community of tiny minded hicks
I always watch anime in public, most of the time inside the bus or when I am eating my lunch.
Once a old man said "You should turn off your cellphone when you eat" and I was "Yep" and keep watching.
btw I am 31yo, my life is embarrassing
... E99th St mcdonalds?
...
>before I go to the hospital
why were you at the hospital?
>going to McDonald's alone to watch anime
Why not just get it to go? If you are on lunch break from work or whatever, why not just eat it in your car? Why not just read the news or something and watch anime when you get home?
Just how fucking autistic can you people get?
someone turned me into a newt
... i got better.
I'm into hillwallking myself and I once took my e-book with myself and read the first volume of Overlord while on top of a ~350m hill while laying on the warm rock (it was last summer). Ahh, the view was great, the air fresh and the LN decent.
Nah, a different continent
I watched non non biyori on my computer in the bus while going to my midterm exams. (I was in the backrow)
Guess what people didnt throw stones at me
It's like watching Barbie and MLP, user. Watching Barbie makes you look weird and gay.
Yesterday I was reading Berserk in my tablet why heading home in the bus, it was crowded as fuck and suddenly a roa of rape scenes appeared. I did realize the face of disgust of some random old hag, I was lucky that there was no feminist near me
that barbie show is so good though
you should always hide your powerlevel. there's no benefit to screaming about your hobby from the rooftops. only risks.
if you meet someone, get to know them, find out they like anime then maybe tease the conversation towards it potentially letting them know.
but otherwise talking about your hobbies in a professional or social situation is pretty unappealing
>he doesn't indoctrinate his normalfag roommates
Step it up, I've gotten my roommates to watch censored Monster Musume with me, and they got into it.
>going outside
Neo-Sup Forums everyone.
So where did you watch it?
good to know user, I bet your loving family is very happy with you
>so what do you do in your free time, user?
Barbie is a terrible show and it's especifically aimed at selling girl toys, and MLP is western moeshit. New Game is practically 100% fap material. If anything, watching Lucky Star or K-On would be more embarassing than New Game.
Fucking normalfags. Fucking cancer ruining Sup Forums.
I used to watch anime on my psvita on guard duty when I was doing my military service time.
Sometimes the other guard would come see what I'm watching.
One time, the officer was standing behind me when I was watching BRS with headphones on and I didn't notice him for like 10 minutes.
Watching girls doing girly things looks gay user. Let's be realistic here
i mean, i have other things i do besides anime...
if not that just make stuff up or say you like reading or movies, things no one will ask further about
I'm about to set HomeMade Kazoku's "Arigato" as my ringtone since Bleach is ending. It's rather subtle and doesn't scream "ANIME!" the moment you play it. It sounds like normal japanese jazz-y rap to people who haven't seen Bleach.
Yes, Bleach is pretty famous, but to the current generation, it's "old".
>Why not just read the news or something and watch anime when you get home?
Because I watch porn at home, I can do it out side, but I can watch anime.
Not him, btw.
>Oh, I play videogames and watch some series.
>"Really? What kind of series do you watch?"
Graphical Design (e.g. Mayoiga shops) and doing music (singing for the odd Sup Forums sings)
This. You're better off watching wrestling like a real manly man.
>saying extremely vague stuff like 'series'
what are you doing
Exactly, that's why watching K-On and Lucky Star is gayer than New Game.
a couple people have tried to do this with me when they find out im into anime and its usually such a turn off. not sure why, but i just dont like discussing this kind of stuff with living, breathing people unless theyre already one of the 3 people i watch anime with.
cute girls trying to get me to talk about anime is an auto turn off:
>Oh you like anime too? I looooove it!
>My favorite show? Sword Art Online was sooo good, but...
end of the conversation.
jerk off
This. 90% of the time I don't even want social interaction in the first place, so if people ask me shit like that I just make it up. Better to come off as boring and forgettable than to build a reputation that gives you unwanted attention as "that weird guy who like little girl cartoons".
New Game is just cute girls doing cute girly things while making games. Literally almost no difference.
yeah i feel you, especially in a work environment i find it really unprofessional. it's just, as much as we like anime, it's weird. i'm not ashamed of it, but its like a sexual fetish or something, im not gonna tell the world about it
just keep things chill and normie
Yeah, none at all.
It's not the 90s anymore user.
Yeah pretty much. At very least entry-level anime watchers are pleasant and friendly, unlike "avid readers" who own lots of books but literally never read and are pompous as fuck about their wikipedia interpretations.
this.
you can still be a chill guy, people wont necessarily be like 'oh thats bob he never tells us anything about his free time' what a weirdo.
as long as you're a cool, vaguely social person people will respect your privary and you can be known for things other than your hobbies.
>3 hours before my next class
>find a quiet corner of the library, bust out the laptop and headphones and try to kill some time watching anime
>completely unsubtle faggots constantly wander over and try to peak around at my screen to see what I'm watching
Every fucking time. College kids have absolutely no manners, what the hell is wrong with them?
that's how you do it
...
In the 90's, if you said you watched anime, you'd get shunned as a turbonerd or given pitiful looks as if you said you still pissed the bed. Nowadays you'd get casualfags like said and thinking they're "huge nerds" by watching more than 10 episodes than DBZ or owning a ghibli movie in DVD.
Having lived through both, I can say we have it worse today.
Why would watching luxky star and k-on be considered gay?
Hell K-On is so fucking popular now even normalfags have seen it
>there are people who are ashamed of their hobbies
>there are people who go out of their way to hide the fact they enjoy their hobby.
Casuals. The lot of you.
I accidentally revealed my powerlevel once to a classmate, and he sometimes asked me for recommendations.
One time, SnK's first episode had just aired, and I'd recommended it to him. He went on to watch it from a streaming site, and in a language he didn't speak (english) - we are poles.
So anyway, he apparently felt disgusted by the giant naked men (I wasn't there with him) and dropped the anime before even seeing the amazing end of the episode.
good job user
...
I have this co-worker who's pretty entry-level and talks about it with me occasionally on my lunch breaks. She's okay, but she's also into bondage and I'm 90% sure she's trying to fuck my virgin ass up.
Sometimes I think that I might be more normal than I admit.
I blame literal weebs
H-how do you know she's into bondage? How did she exactly reveal it to you?
>there are people so maladjusted they can never shut up about their hobbies
he wasn't cut out for the medium from the beginning. if barbie style nudity upset him, he wouldnt make very long as an otaku.
nice quads, this guy is living the dream
>there are people who are ashamed of their hobbies
I'm not ashamed of it. I just don't like talking about it with normalfags. It's like trying to talk about medical science with people who believe in homeopathy.
Other coworkers knew and I sort of subtly joked about knowing about it and she played along like she was admitting to it.
nigga.
what. are. you. doing.
get her to watch prison school (uncensored) with you and see where the night goes. do it, for all of us hopeless wizards here. your virginity is NOT something you want to hold on to.
It's time.
>It is the logical thing to do, user.
We don't have anime clubs at high schools and colleges in my country, so saying you like anime doesn't get you automatically associated with those kinds of fans.
Sounds like you hang around assholes.
>that one epic guy who keeps trying to derail the thread because he's insecure about the topic
I don't have a lot of pride, but I'm not sure I want to throw my v-card away with a rubber ball in my mouth.
Rolll
...
just
reroll
>Do people on Sup Forums hide their powerlevel?
It depend, as for me I hide some of my power level not all of it. So people aren't surprised when I know about a semi-obscure animu or mango while serving as a cover for my true depravity.
