The anime was good but the VN is still better

Kind of amazing how the short ONA Planetarian is a far better adaptation than the full TV series Rewrite.

I don't find that surprising at all. Smaller works are easier to adapt than longer ones. And Rewrite is especially hard to adapt because how the routes work.

I see your point, but they also have more episodes, budget and runtime to work with.

Not an anime

You need to compare episodes count to the lengtt of the work. Rewrite is getting LESS in that regard. It's way too little to cower anything really. Planetarian however was easily cowered in the 5 short episodes. Of course there were stuff that was missing but that's something that always happens.

Budget thing I agree. Planetarian looks way better than Rewrite.

I'm just glad there is ONE good Key adaptation this season at least.

That makes two of us

I just re-read the VN and it is still way better than the anime. For one the VN ending scene makes me bawl my eyes out whereas the ending scene in the anime was ruined with the new music.

>That ending.
>We failed protecting that smile.

Why life is so fucking painful? ;_;

...

But there's no Planetarian VN, only a KN.

The HD release is out, together with all 3 drama CD, though what the hell is with that size?

If there were a way to put the translation onto the HD version I'd actually buy it.

Semantics. Kinetic novel is a subset of visual novels.

Quickly, post Yumemi.

...

Anyone know if is somehow possible?

...

A shame that Komatsu E-ji just faded into obscurity nowaday.

>Komatsu E-ji
At least he's still actively drawing stuff.

I was pleasantly surprised that this adaptation turned out to be good.
Movie when?

Wait, episode 5 was the end?

We arent about to follow the mc to go look at the town/the rest of the world?.

Wait for the movie user, this is the end of the original novel.

But that ending was perfect.

I thought the presentation scene was terrific in the anime, but the ending felt rushed. I'd say it's a good companion to the VN.

September, 3rd.

Will we get the HD version on Steam? I was happy to pay $5 for the SD when it came out.

I would have wanted to see more of her chanting the "Why don't you come to the planetarium?" because I liked that aspect of Yumemi a lot. It was also skipped why she does that. I think that was very important considering they are her last words.

yumemi-chon

Komatsu was the best artist of the early 2000's.
Don't know why his style lost popularity.

Agreed. The presentation was amazing in the anime. The VN made me shed more tears so I'm more inclined to say it was better but the anime ending was pretty good. I imagine if I had gone into the anime ending completely blind, I would have burst into treats.

I'm still dissapointed they didn't use the VN OST, it was mush better:

Aye, can't really replicate the impact of reading the VN for the first time but the anime was great, espically episode three.

>sukebei
>yukata with uniform hat and same hairstyle
Shameful mistakes

I found the last monologue of robogirl pretty long and boring. As if it overstayed its welcome. Maybe I'm just that heartless. Rest of the show was good tho.

Finished jerusalem, it gives some details on the people who had planned to take control after the bombing as hinted in the VN.

do robots feel pain?

I'm just waiting for the movie with new content.

I want to fuck this robot.

It's pretty weird that the underground facility was completely empty and perfectly usage, despite there were a trace of major battle happened inside the basement before.
Though the whole place is fucking creepy with all those remains lying all over the place, and the killer nunbots that can only repeat the same chanting over and over.
Make me wonder how old junker managed to get one, considered what happened at the end.

The manufacturer was japanese and it's entirely possible that various facilities like that existed around the world

That complaint about shitty Japanese salary pay during the conversation made me laugh at least.

>tfw no sexy nunbot to program

You can't ;_;

Because his way of using digital looks way more artificial than Masamune Shirow or Satoshi Urushihara. The oversaturated colors everywhere keeps on being highly unnatural-looking.

It's like Plastic Little's oily skin styling times a dozen.

Hope we wont have to wait too much for movie footage after the premiere

Well some people waited 12 years for the anime, so we can wait another few years for the movie right?

So, what happens in Hoshi no Hito? Junker puts the memory card in that busty nun robot and talks with Yumemi again?

he passed away after he realized that he already trade the memory card with the kids for a rosary, and met her again in heaven.

>a rosary
please tell me you're trolling

The rosary is also the key for activating nunbots

seems like one of those sequels that cant compare to the original and end up tarnishing the experience.

sometimes we just need to let go.

Who else is happy that the man dedicated his life to her dreams?

I don't know who is trolling who anymore.

He passed away after teaching and giving inspiration for a new generation, who he believed that would be able to do a better job spreading his dream than him, and he got to meet Yumemi again in heaven.
It's still a better ending than him clinging onto to the memory of Yumemi, brought her back to life and then dead in front her.

too much hope and happiness, I signed up for suffering and despair.

This is a show about humanity trying to revive their broken dream user, not a suffering porn.
