A male and female have two offspring, one male and one female and these offspring are very high on the scale of finding men attractive. The male offspring will be homosexual but at the same time the female offspring will be much more sexually active. Do you see how in theory it's a net gain for the genes?
Also, homosexuals in a social group could be a way for there to be more males around to protect the offspring of their family members physically and at the same time to be a gatherer/homemaker type.
