This. I'm surprised it took someone like Trump to figure out that the only way NK "wins" is if other countries take their threats seriously and capitulates to their demands. If they have to back up their threats with an "attack", they lose everything. China stands around pretending to be the mediator and voice of reason while they are the biggest piece of shit enabling this situation by using the Norks as a liability-free threat of force to US and other countries who stand in the way of China's foreign interests.

Trump is basically crashing their currency by calling their bluff and goading them to do something stupid. This either forces China to intervene by force, which will likely force them into an occupation and prevent them from pulling this behind-the-scenes crap ever again, or it can break their control of NK entirely and they are forced to sit back while US and SK reunify the Korean peninsula on their terms.

I hope nobody gets nuked, but on the other hand, there wouldn't likely be a North Korea afterwards. We're supposed to be utilitarians, aye? Smart people making judgments smart people make? What's the worth of Guam compared to the value of freeing North Korea?
