Why would we give up hope when there's an original series about to come out for the first time in 9 years?
You should've been giving up a few months ago when 4 of the 5 ongoing manga ended.

I really wonder if they put in effort to save the franchise with that series.
I really want to see good battles and not the mess A1 delivered.

A part of me is hopeful for a new movie but another part of me is worried about the franchise's state.

I don't know, when a series gets discontinued it doesn't bother me I mean franchises that I followed back then were all discontinued and it didn't faze me. With Nanoha's state I don't know what to think.

I guess it was the series that made me get Megami Magazines and a few Figmas.

If Seven Arcs want to move to the next step at least they should give us a proper ending. Give us the last movie and the second season of Vivid (if the latter's news about it is true then it's good and yes, I like both the manga and anime).

I don't mind the new series and chances are I might like too but it didn't completed the circle.

I'll wait for Vivid Strike and hope for the 3rd movie and Vivid Season 2.

Are you implying that a S2 of Vivid would be enough to give it a proper ending? Do you not read the manga? They'd have to make up to a S4 just to adapt everything that's out so far and it's not over yet.

I'm just saying that I want both of them be done. Yes, I read the manga and I know it's crazy long but I hope it ends during Vivio and Einhart's rematch since season 1 crammed in almost 30 chapters in a 12 episode season.

I missed the early days of fighting monsters of the day and doing magical girl stuff. The military angle makes me exhausted. And now with Vivid we are going DBZ. Where is the magic?

I just started watching Nanoha 1st season and I'm enjoying it a lot, did the series went to shit or something? And is Strikers supposed to be bad?

I'm ok with the military stuff itself, it gives the setting some complexity. As long as the military actually sends them out to do shit.

1st season good. 2nd season PURE AWESOME. StrikerS is where the problems start to creep in, but it's still ok.
The movies are nice bonus material once you have seen the TV series. They leave out some stuff or alter characterization a little.

After that it goes downhill

Not that it went to shit, it is that there is a lot of gaps in the story and the fact that the series went down a military path. It lacks the whole magical part of being a magical girl series

If you're enjoying S1, then I suggest you leave this thread right now and don't come back until you've seen everything or you're just going to have some of the best parts spoiled. Yes, most people think the first two seasons are best but it's all still worth watching.

Good job starting with S1 instead of the movie. That's the right choice.

If you're not baiting, the 3rd season adds massive character bloat and shifts the genre of the first half of the show from the previous seasons' 50/50 mahou shoujo/drama to being more of a military SoL.

It's still worth it, just watch all the seasons and dont' forget to read each season's (short) companion manga for more background.

StrikerS episode 25 deserves to be up there too. Nanoha blasting through that ship was the coolest moment in the whole show. That and Vita's fight against the engine room.

Nanoha is in the military, just have her transfer off-world and focus on the adventures of someone else over there.

Maybe eventually some other characters can come visit. It would be a great time.
