Akko was extremely selfish in the second movie all the way to ruining Lotte's hard worked on piece with no regrets or care until Lotte finally blew up at her and how she tried to control everything. If that were it then they would of did something drastic to her but she's Akko's teacher and was causually dropping hints about how to deal with the monsters at the end of the second OVA and she was surprised the Shiny Rod still worked. I don't think it was the top brass that made her quit doing magic shows something probably happened to her personally that made her quit and everything else is just rumors the public made up.

Trigger will never make another show on the lvl of TTGL. We supported and hyped the studio up when it first became a thing and so far everything they have done has been borderline good, mediocre or just bad.
