Republican Tax Plan

Can we discuss the next Tax Plan?

I feel a bit stupid, because I voted for Hillary, but if it passes I will get a pretty amazing windfall. Of course, that won't be the case for most of the people.

For those who voted Republican, what is your opinion on this giveaway to the top quintile? Are you in it?

>In total, by 2027, according to TPC, 80 percent of the tax cut goes to the top 1 percent; only 12 percent to the middle three quintiles.

Why is Sup Forums so awfully quiet when confronted with hard facts?

Can't argue with them?

Sounds great to me. Many in the upper tax brackets are small businesses that file as individuals.

Since 50% of the people in this country pay no federal income tax, why are they bitching. Id make them have some skin in the game.

Have you seen the graph, let alone read the article?

If you're not in the 95-100 percentile, your tax cut is tiny, or even an increase.

>80 percent of the tax cut goes to the top 1 percent

Do you understand those figures?

'Giveaway' as if it wasn't taxes we're talking about here. The corporate tax rate is the most piece anyway, and both parties have been talking about perhaps not having the highest corporate tax in the world as maybe, possibly being good for business. I guess we could afford to tax the shit out of them after ww2 and we accounted for 50% of world GDP because Europe was smashed, but not now.

Why do you believe that? Take a few minutes of your time and read why slashing corporate taxes will have a negligible impact on the economy.

My parents are in the lowest tax bracket. I don't even think they pay income tax. Feels good being poor because ironically I get free shit from the government and uni while still being a fucking white male

fuck off commie im going to throw out of a helicopter. those based wealth creators deserve it

>the government letting you keep your money is a "giveaway"

Poorfags in america love the subtle taste of champagne when they sip on a glass of trickled down billionaire's piss.

Yep, exactly what just about everyone expected. Trump's base will cheer for it too. The dumbshits all see themselves as future millionaires who will take full advantage of the tax cuts for the 1%, just as soon as their coal mining jobs get them there.

the average family will bring home $2000-4000 more a year

>but its not fair they get more than me wahhhh

get a fucking job NEET instead of praying the socialists win and give you a free ride while you masturbate to anime and eat tendies

Hey asshole, I wouldn't take krugman's word for it. If you actually care about arguments against his try : contrakrugman.com

it's not even hard to become a millionaire anymore

i know you only believe you are rich because of your countries minimum wage laws.

party hats and balloons with your favourite brand on? not kidding , that's what the autistic children I know like, talk about stunted growth. not surprised though.

those who made it easy never had a proper chance to develop properly into men and women, forever stuck as man-children/women.

shame really.

This isn't saving anyone money. It's a cash grab from the federal government, nothing more. These paltry tax reductions that you might see now will be more than offset by the future tax increases needed to undo the damage to the federal budget that this will cause.

>After raising the trajectory for discretionary spending, here’s what we could expect in 2027, if nothing much changes. The deficit for that year would stand at $1.7 trillion, triple today’s figure, a gigantic 6.1% of national income. The total federal debt would balloon from today’s $14.7 trillion to over $27 trillion, rising from 77% of GDP to almost 100%.

hate it when the gov't gets involved in business. we used to have industry everywhere and with the gov't backed unions, regs and taxes we just have ghosts and a bunch of addicted has-beens and never was mumbling about "how we was world class". we did it to ourselves and that corp tax is crazy look at puerto rica they got greedy and drove business out. that's how it works. we need to have owners and workers realize they are working together this time. we need jobs walmart and starbucks dont count. regular working people spend their paychecks before they even see it, I don't think industry should get a total tax break; but at least make it competitive.

most of the money "saved" by the tax breaks will be spent and recycled back into the economy/taxes anyways

what the top 1% does with it is the most important. hopefully we can return some jobs to the US that have been lost in the globalist/free trade agenda.

i seriously think a tariff paired with tax breaks could restore american manufacturing

We've tried trickle down economics before. It doesn't work.

Yeah it's super easy, literally everyone's doing it

they are hoping they re-invest in the nation. I hate regs but that's the only way they'd get a tax break, if it was put back into the economy. this looks similar to the "trickle down" ghw tried to implement, we did have a boom; but when it was time to pay the bill the working slobs had to eat it. I hate all the class division and warfare, we should work together. the working class has been severely crippled in the last 25 years and that needs to change. the strength of the nation is and always has been a healthy working class

remember those tariffs on jap imports that was going to save the detroit auto jobs? they raised their prices to match the imports. uncle worked at gm testing facility and the things they engineered to take advantage of the average stupid consumer still has me pissed; and all the us auto manufacturers did it.

most of those "japanese imports" are manufactured in mexico and canada. go to a toyota/honda etc. lot and you will clearly see it posted on the car "60% of parts from mexico, 30% from canada" etc..

no reason we cant do it here

>People are ok with giving the top 1% the biggest tax cuts while some in the middle see even an increase on taxes.

Bannon did a hell of a job harnessing the virgin rage into a faux populist movement. Fucking scary

The article is long as fuck, but worth reading. I don't get some of the points (e.g. what happens when you give a tax cut to google vs a company that sells physical goods), but I got most of them.

It's going to be funny to see the deficit hawks that cried wolf back when the Fed started QE policy do a 180 cuckflip and vote for a deficit nuke.

You guys are fucked, unless you're in that top 5%. And even then, I wouldn't like that gift at the price of blowing up the deficit.

So what?

The
> they gettin mo din us so iz not fair
argument?

It's obvious that statistically they'd have the much higher percentage because they have the much higher income and property.

> Do you understand those figures?
You don't understand the figures, fag.

You're using percentages vs actual dollar amounts. That top 1-10% pay billions into the treasury... literally supporting the system that half of all Americans that pay $0.00 supporting, but nonetheless bleed dry on muh programs and simply by virtue of being able to live here.

Fake news. Jews want higher taxes so they can use government corruption to steal from tax payers.

Where are the facts? Someone making $50k is going to save 40% in Federal tax or roughly $2,000. That 4% is a good bit of money, more than the average annual raise for many. This graph is not only inaccurate, it's displayed in a way to sew division.
