Its dumb, but whatever puts people in a good mood is honestly the best thing for any country

Yoga and meditation is good, too bad most yoga these days is just a fad and not that spiritual.

Physical activities are fine as long as you enjoy it and know what you're doing.

Just don't try to pick up a fight just because you've been doing cardio boxing for a year and you're gucci.

Is...is this BRAAP Yoga?

If you want to improve your flexability, then sure, why not.

If you think of it as "exercise" and think that means you don't have to lift or do cardio because you "exercise", then you are kidding yourself.

Yoga and meditation are satanic. Stay away from it

yoga shouldn't be considered new age.

In the pantheon of "spiritual" activies, there are many things that do not work and many that do. It is difficult to tell which are which because silly idiots believe in everything with that label and can't think rationally. Here's a short list to help you tell the difference:

WORKS:
Yoga: excellent physical activity, excellent for accelerating meditation practices.
Divination/tarot cards: The symbols used in divination help you to realize thoughts you didn't know you were having. It gives you something to psychologically project onto so that you can figure yourself out faster and with more clarity.
Meditation: Gives you the ability to think before you act and make better decisions in every area of life.
Sound/Music/Dance/Color therapy: Certain aesthetic experiences are proven to change your mental state.

DOES NOT WORK:
Homeopathics: Literally just magic-water.
Psychic readers: They're making it up. No psychic has ever been able to reliably produce results better than random chance.
Crystals: no evidence they are anything other than pretty.
Energy healing/Reiki: Results are identical to placebo effect. Simply believing you are healing is what makes you heal faster.

I did hot yoga for 2 years and eventually became a teacher 5 days a week for the 6 am class. Got $25 a class and a class lasts about 90 minutes so it was good for some extra money in addition to my 9-5.

Hot yoga for those who don't know is where you do the 26 core positions in a 110 degree room.

It's been about 4 years since I've done it though. I was a bit more of a hippy back then. But even back then I realized that all Yoga was is body stretching extremes and holding them. Nothing more really. It does improve balance and how your body feels though. I did it enough that my body was always "stretched" if you will. And generally speaking you'll meet some hot girls and get to see them bend their hot bodies in all sorts of ways.

Actually most of the students weren't hippies at all, it was mostly the teachers that were hippies, but even then they were NEVER talking about politics, at least at my place.. This was in Key West where I taught. But I digress. Our classes were $10 a class which is insanely cheap especially for hot yoga, but some are outrageous and run by the most pretentious, leftist people. I live in Portland Oregon and the people who work at the yoga places here post all those pro-muslim and pro-fag, BLM posters outside their studios and always talk about politics. It's pathetic none I ever worked at did that. I never even knew my teachers political leanings

>Hindu mental exercises are "satanic"
bitch you're roleplaying I bet you don't even believe in satan

by church tradition satanic simply means pre-christian

whoops, new age wasn't the correct word. Regardless I think it can really help with attention and anger issues. Never tried braapyoga, though

I'm ashamed that this made me smile. It's so unabashedly simple

The states achieved by meditation, which are similar to using psychedelic drugs, do in fact open you up to influences that should be called satanic. It's like going to the casino--you aren't necessarily going to get in trouble, but you're going to be tempted. Wisdom should come before power, and power can be gained through these states.

There is yoga studio in my town called "The Sweat Ganesh".

They owners literally named their business "the sweat vagina".

They should just call it "Show Vegana Yoga"

Something like this I read some article long time ago that explained that when meditating you open yourself up to some stuff and it isn't safe nor should you do it.
And Yoga is satanic
Yoga and meditation need to be avoided

Naked Yoga

>tfw don't live in Norway

kill me

Most of my workouts are lifting and running, but I do yoga once a week just to work out muscles I might not usually and to improve flexibility/balance. Staring at the instructor and other students in their tight pants and sports bras is a nice plus.

That's from America.

> all Yoga was is body stretching extremes and holding them

This. There is no satan, there is no SJW, it's not even religious anymore unless you srsly find a Sikh or Hindu to teach it.

It makes you more flexible. That's great for my jujitsu, which is great for my MMA.

If you're not interested in yoga, you're not interested in being flexible.

If you're not interested in flexible, you're not interested in any sport or activity which benefits from flexibility.

Therefore, you're probably a degenerate sedentaryfag.

Also, I love little boys.

/thread

I did DDP yoga and it was really nice, had a positive impact on my emotions.

Plus, it's DDP so you don't get the SJW bullshit.

since a DMT trip my life has changed. I've started training Muay Thai, and I've been meditating for atleast 2 hours everyday, past 3 weeks.

I've only drank green/Jasmin tea since then, and I've eaten the bare minimum of what I need (surrendering to lusts breeds a decadent and corrupt soul)

and the blackpill.... Nobody here is in a state of "dasein" everybody just follows the "das man" zeitgeist of Sup Forums, just trying to be a gutmensch in relation to other Sup Forumsacks.

free your dasein, become the true übermensch, not the NSDAP's verson but the one of Nietzsche, destroy petty lies, imagination and metaphores. Only accept empirical, cold truths

yoga is good exercise. don't pay attention to the spiritual stuff. Just do the physical stuff.

Late civilization western man is all contorted and twisted up with his hyper mental lifestyle and abstract detachment from tangible things and genuine feelings. A certain amount of therapeutic self-squashing and energetic flushing is a necessity. And the Hindoos got a pretty good set of traditions in that regard.

portland is one of the most inhospitable and least open places in some ways. Maybe it's not as shrill as "no colored" and "nigger keep out" jim crow south style business presentation, but it's a similar flavor there if you don't fall in the non-line line, if you don't fit in you'll be ostracized and turned away and such. it seems. maybe I'm wrong.

I smoked DMT while very drunk, i can't remember what i saw except squares and that i had an open mouth. Did "they" see me?

literally yes. Get deep enough and you'll see what I mean.

>I've eaten the bare minimum of what I need
You're not gonna make it bruh

bye bye norwegians

I do yoga every day for a few minutes, but not as a hobby. Works great for flexibility, balance, core strength, and it keeps the mild arthritis in my back at bay.
Definitely not fair to include it as some sort of "new age" thing.

Best post

>not understanding the actual meaning of new age
It doesn't mean the belief or practice is actually new, you fucking spergs. It just means that its introduction to the West/American culture is new.

>If you're not interested in yoga, you're not interested in being flexible.
>If you're not interested in flexible, you're not interested in any sport or activity which benefits from flexibility.
What is opportunity cost?

Mods!

I lived homeless for a year without a job on purpose in South America. Poverty is the ultimate cleanser for the soul. If you ever want to start appreciating life, take away every single comfort you have ever had, and live among the most absolute destitute this planet has to offer. You'll eventually learn to appreciate a slice of bread and a cup of water the same way most would currently appreciate a Lambo and a luxury watch.

I don't need to sit for hours on end to become self aware and claim it's some how magical. Anime and other fictions have ruined your mind turning the most simple of internal tasks into something grandiose.

yoga and new age are two different pair of shoes

I did yoga, it was full of rich lazy women who wanted to exercise but not put too much effort into it.
For myself I enjoyed it & learned some nice stretches for when my body is tired from work.
The teacher did some guided meditations after the lessons & that was very trippy stuff.
Being the only male in a class is a weird experience & a lot of women do not like you to encroach upon their territory

>a lot of women do not like you to encroach upon their territory
Just be more fit, and not a creeper. They'll be more than welcoming if you aren't hideous.

Lot's of good posts. Let me try to distill it to one sentence and one picture:

I think this thread has done a good job describing the issue with trendy things like yoga. Let me try to distill it down to one sentence:

There is nothing wrong with yoga per se, but it is evil insofar as it reinforces the manic consumer culture (pic related) that has plunged our generation into cheap nihilism.

This.
People are comfortable and just live instead of surviving.

Which is bullshit, when you think about it. Eastern men invented yoga and Western women co-opted it.
We need to take it back.

6'6 200lbs. Been kicking 200 times with each shin against a bamboo mat a day.
Along with that I; Cycle 20 miles in a hour, do 100 pushups and 2-3 rounds sparring with other boxers everyday. I drink about a gallon of water and 6 cups green tea. I eat balanced lots of fibres, low carb, high protein/fat about 1500-200 cal/day.

to train my mind I meditate and I read from my small library of philosophy books, Epicurus to Heidegger, Lao Tzu to Confucius

Honestly I am quite handsome already, I don't need to creep around women.
Chasing women was not the point, it was more about their ways.

At least this one is shooting blanks.

>Been kicking 200 times with each shin against a bamboo mat a day.
Why? I can't think of any reason to do this other than stamina but every then that's over doing it especially if you do it everyday

Not my thing but I don't really care. I do however enjoy watching women in skin tight clothing bend and stretch, so it's got that going for it.

You're pretty much dead on. It's full of bleeding heart liberals who live in their ivory towers. Also Portland is VERY white, after white people it is probably most populated by Indians, but they mostly live out near Hillsboro because they work at Intel.

Exactly, I played basketball in my free time a lot back then and it made me so much better.

Somewhat true. I was situated right by a community college so I got a lot of college girls who would come early morning to my classes. But when I would go to the night classes as a student it did have a lot of overweight women. However it also had a LOT of 70+ year old men and women. Good excersize for them at that age. It's low impact, get blood running but isn't too intense

Just more memes to replace white culture.

This is why people say we have no culture, because we are too busy watching anime, doing yoga, or literally anything that isn't European

They would often up sticks and run out from the room.
I imagined that they went off to fart? but I never found out.

It's to kill nerves in your leg and to improve bone strenght, it results in shins like baseball bats, that way you can fight against other boxers without breaking your shins, and against normies you can break their legs and ribs by kicking.

Whatever happened to spooly threads??

Does that mean we can kill the jews again?

>beer yoga

bbc.com/news/av/world-asia-39711513/have-you-got-the-bottle-for-beer-yoga

I've done yoga before, and it is good for stretching, I don't really care for the whole culture, but I should be doing it, and meditating a lot because my anxiety is killing my brain and my body. And the only thing I can do is that mind over matter crap.

It's best to find a teacher who is Indian and was raised in the Yogi tradition. You can learn stuff from them.

Yoga develops the body strength to practice pranayama which is most excellent, especially if you have depression or anxiety.

I found the practice of yoga increased my speed and timing in martial arts.

And to think, I was skeptical until I took my first lesson.

do they recommend you develop your own mantra for meditation? I don't know if you're supposed to "clear your mind" or focus on a mantra

What're your favorite hobbies pol?

>feel your body eliminating the toxins
>like...my liver filtering my blood?

The experienced teacher will provide mantras as required.

When a girl says she "does yoga," get her out of your life as quickly as you can. White girls go to yoga because they want a good body without having to be uncomfortable. To translate it into general terms, she worships herself but can't handle hard work. Is this the type of woman you want to raise a family with? Is this the type of person you'd want to have any responsibility at all?

No, fight for family and culture. not just yourself. Embrace hardship.

>Psychic readers: They're making it up. No psychic has ever been able to reliably produce results better than random chance.

Have you ever been to a real psychic?

>6'6 200lbs.

how are you alive? I'm 5'11 and my maintenance is 2200

Pickle surprise.

Survival is for men.

>I found the practice of yoga increased my speed and timing in martial arts.
Is this really a good use of your time? When are you going to need to fight someone using marital arts? Make money my friend. Buy a house. Be a pillar of your community. Don't be some Jet Li larper.

>which is most excellent, especially if you have depression or anxiety.
But if this is why you're doing it, that's good. Keep it up!

by not being a canadian cancer homosexual, just have the self-discipline to go on, no matter how tired you get. it'll take a while to die from starvation

Just like everything western roasties have appropriated, they completely missed the point. Most Indian Yogis are Hindu men and they practice Yoga as a means to connect with the poo spirit in their Ashrams. Western whores practice Yoga to lool good in their Juicy track pants.

it's definitely a homogeneous place in a lot of ways including ideologically. It's frustrating on paper, but I do like it there for sure. Everyone seems happier there than other cities I've been to, even if it's that you go girl everyone work together now and stay high and drunk kind of happy, happy's happy, maybe it's all the trees come to think of it

After you've eaten your vegetables.

these days its playing music, I used to play sax as a kid & have bought one recently & got back into it.
Remembering how to read music is hard.

No it isnt inherently so. That is a rather hedonistic statement, people dont need to feel just happy for doing meaningless things, but rather accomplished for a real achievement.
People need to feel to be involved, they need to feel why they are part of a larger society and that is there is something bigger than their own pleasures. Generall happines is a positive factor that cannot be denied, its ablut how you channel your energies.

They're mostly shit testing to see if you're a real man or not though a couple may be autistic/asexual

So you are trying to lose weight?

go deeper. you are missing the depths of the ocean for the reflection on its surface.

A level of indifference to them is rather caustic to them.
I went to learn yoga, not to piss around chasing skirt.

thanks amigo. I guess I'll look for a few beginner lessons

The virgin lotus vs the chad slut bridge

/fit/ guy here. Yoga is an EXCELLENT routine to accompany a healthy diet and regular exercise. It is one of the hardest routines, physically, as it challenges you to improve your flexibility, concentration, and overall trains muscles in ways other exercises fail to. It's insane for your core strength.

Do yoga, gents. Yes, it's infested with lefties, but it's physically and mentally challenging like no other.

I dont really lose it, I've been stuck at 200 lbs awhile, but I am becoming slimmer, stronger, faster and better balanced.

>do they have Internet in Irefrica?
enjoy the hurricane btw!

If it's so tough why do mentally and physically weak lefties dominate it?

I have a family and good job. I do it for recreation. Mushin is interesting. Never had a fight since I started. Others seem to BTFO
