It had a good production value but the anime failed in the writing aspect. Oh well. I don't really get why people still care about it when it's been over with for a while.

It just doesn't make sense. For people without sisters, it seems okay, although Kyou had tons of way hotter chicks (who were a better fit for him) falling all over him. Why would he prefer his own sister (who treated him like shit most of the time) to them? He can always love his sister, but he can't fuck or date her without huge social and legal consequences.

For people with sisters, the whole show is absurd. Almost all people with sisters find the idea of actually dating their sister repulsive, and while they might enjoy incest hentai/porn they probably wouldn't actually commit incest in real life, nevermind actually dating a family member that closely related.

Finally, the ending was very wishy-washy. In a sense, the author chickened out of actually committing to an incest relationship for censorship reasons. In the end, the whole thing is a cliffhanger as to what happens next. (I know, I know, the "implications". But still, it was a cliffhanger and things that aren't explicitly stated are still up for debate) The ending really divides people as to what happens next, which splinters the fan base and makes them unwilling to hear different sides of the story.

And this is coming from someone that really loved Oreimo. I thought it was a cute and sincere love story, I just don't like how certain parts were handled.

I see where you are coming from but pretty much every piece of drama in the second season just infuriated me. The first was by no means amazing but it I found it fairly enjoyable and funny at times

The show made no sense. The mc is a total retard with legs.
For one he gets stepped on hundreds of times and acts like a complete beta to the girls. He gets so close with his sister after learning her secrets. Then she leaves out of the fucking blue telling everyone but her own brother. HES A OH FUCKING K WITH THIS. All he felt was a little lonely, thats literally it.
He decided to go see her, which took him 3 whole minutes to get there, all to play fucking eroge and to cry saying he felt all lonely without her. Not once did he fucking mention the fact that his sister shut him out after becoming close. After the heartfelt talk she becomes even more of a bitch to him and hes just A O FUCKING K with it. Then proceeds to take her to the fucking shopping district.

And now to the girls. He could have had any girl he wanted. Literally all of them wanted his dick. but he chooses his sister for 5 whole fucking minutes. I felt like I lost a few brain cells after watching this garbage .

It was okay. The problem is that ClariS don't show their faces, and best girl lost.

It was medicore at best. Season 1 was good, even, but season 2 just came and fucked everything up. I guess it's the lack of storytelling, since the novel and manga had more backstory and explanation going on

Butchered story? Literally cut half of the content of the LN and put filler at will, aside of that, it got high production values, 10/10 OST, 10/10 artwork, 10/10 character design, 10/10 seiyuu work, it was a pretty good anime, main criticism of the show if not the only one was "Kirino is a bitch" which again, was due to the butchered story.

Same problem every other harem has. Kirino is the winner but has the least development. She doesn't grow as a character from the first to final episode. The writer just makes it that Kirino wins and that any other choice is stupid even going to butthurt lengths to make some seem outright evil.
Which A. Don't make it a harem then, B. Don't make the winner the character with the least development.
Plus the fact that the main draw, a guy finds his sister is a closet nerd means nothing. Her being a nerd is dropped and thus is utterly pointless.
Not to mention the fanbase is so unimaginably incapable of understanding basic societal norms

I genuinely don't understand people liking Kirino. There are some good tsunderes but she is just a fucking bitch. Is it something rooted in their childhoods? Did they have easily angere family members or love interests? I definitely think there is a deeper meaning behind people like Kirino because no sane individual could actually be attracted to a walking carnation of hate and judgement.

Why is this series talked about so much?
Incest isn't anything new in anime. Is it because it wasn't subtle, and they actually got together in the end? If that's the case, I really don't feel it warrants all the discussion it gets. That's really not so shocking.

15yo manami thought it was creepy and concerning that 12yo kirino wanted to marry her brother. That's fairly reasonable or at least an excusable mistake. Manami negs on Kyousuke because he was always getting himself in trouble, hurting himself and others, his classmates thought he was annoying idiot and she didn't want to see him get hurt. That whole "evil plan" meme is 100% deluded headcanon and a pathetic attempt to justify kirino's inexcusable behaviour.

Oreimo is one of my favorite animes mostly because I am fan of incest and lolis.

For like one third of the show I thought Ruri would win and I actually liked the character well enough to agree that she should win, but at some point it just hits you that Kirino is actually the only one who should win, given all the things Kyosyke would do for her sake.

The ending was a bit rushed and didnt give too much emotional impact, but it left a warm feeling knowing the best girl won.

My friends always laugh at me liking Oreimo, but I stand behind my words. It'll always be my favorite.

She definitely influenced him, but it was because she cared for his wellbeing, not some evil manipulative scheme. She never was never dishonest or underhanded, she only spoke her mind. The whole point of vol11 was that Kirino's perception of Kyousuke was based on his showing off and not seeing the broader implications of his behaviour.

I don't know how saying something like "Kyou-chan is fairly useless, so there's only a small amount of girls who would be happy after you" is anything but underhanded. And she's always saying stuff about how normal and ordinary he is, to the point where he actually accepts it, despite the fact that it's shown he was fairly high-achieving in the past.

The fact that, after finding out about Kirino's hobby, he always threw himself under the bus for her. He became the sacrificial lamb for his parents and for Ayase, and never fails to make a total fool of himself for Kirino's sake (the LN/anime debacle, biking through town on a Meruru bike while wearing a suit, etc.).

I'm actually glad the LN ended before the anime because we got to see pic related. Even when the LN is a lot more clearer and handles everything far better, they still bitched and moaned all the way through. Pretty much demolishes the current popular excuse about how it was "because of how it ended".

Those were her true feelings, Kyousuke was not popular at school, everyone thought he was an annoying idiot. He was always trying to show off and it always got him into trouble. She cried after his dad beat him up. She was the only one to defend him against his class after the sakurai incident. After his grades dropped she worked hard helping him study. Maybe she was overprotective, but influencing someone by speaking your mind, comforting them because you care about them, that doesn't make her evil or manipulative.
