Reminder that if you're not reading nhk news easy every day you can't learn Japanese.
I just started doing this again the other day. It's still above my level.
I stopped this because it's too easy. Read regular news instead or browse some random japanese blogs
ニュースなんてつまんないから読みたくない
Please help a pleb.
Checking Tae Kim's, there's question 5 of the last exercise.
guidetojapanese.org
>これ?
>ううん、それじゃない。
I thought the answer would be それだ。
Am I wrong or do both work? My thinking is that the question refers to something that is close, これ, but the actual subject is farther away, それ. Because of this, the negation ううん is negating that object in close proximity, therefore using それだ to refer to the actual subject.
why would you think that its not what the lesson is teaching you
>I just woke up so I'm not sure if I get your point. It's away from the speaker so it's それ. Because he says ううん there has to be a negative form. The negative is じゃない. If you negate something, you have to state it at the end as negative.
In theory that could be correct, but I think Tae Kim is envisioning a situation where the object is next to the first speaker and away from the second.
>person a picks something up
>person a: is it this?
>person b, standing away from person a: no, that's not it
It's just not a well-made example, the confusion is understandable
isnt tae kim korean? why is he teaching japanese
Exercise. Spot the mistakes.
exhentai.org
vs, original
exhentai.org
I get that, but if I was negating that question, would I not simply use これじゃない instead of それじゃない?
Gotcha, that makes more sense. I was thinking of 2 people close to each other. Thank you kind user.
なんJから来たンゴwwwww
よろしくニキーwwwww
theyre both 2 pictures of the same panda -- no difference
stinky
die
Didn't mean to greentext ;_;
>would I not simply use これじゃない instead of それじゃない
No it's away from the speaker. これ is close to the speaker. それ is way from the speaker.
I'm still a beginner, but "Therefore, if I open this door with Rean..." should be "Therefore, if I open this door, me and Rean will..."
By the end of tae kim should I be safe to move onto vidya?
So... does Google translate only use kanji and Hirigana?
Fun: 楽しいです : Tanoshīdesu
楽 = Some kanji bullshit that's far beyond me?
し = Hirigana shi
い = Hirigana i
で = Hirigana de
す = Hirigana su
This is kinda 楽しいです.
safe to move to japan honestly
you should have not started with tae kim. he is korean not japanese
hard langauge
Yeah.
I forget to since I hardly read the news in general, I need to bookmark the link or something.
Okay.
>me and Rean
英語を勉強ぜ
やった!
>Hirigana
The translation fucks up pretty much all the lines.
Did you mean spot the correct translation?
>Tae kim a fucking korean probably lives in japan today
Why doe.
shuddup
That's the jok.
>Mfw just realizing now that a small っ doubles consonants not extend vowels etc after 6 months
I-I really can't learn japanese can I?
>/djt/ a fucking gaijin probably wants to live in japan today
Isn't imouto Korean? He could shit on anyone here in a 1v1
And I felt retarded for having shit retention in Anki.
I learned about the small っ literally the next day I started learning Japanese.
>user added 'tsu' to words for 6 months
It's ok user, you learn from your mistakes.
no it was more like pronouncing
Nippon
as Nii_pon
instead of Nip_pon
I think he lengthened the vowel sound before it, yo

Are there also some in this thread?
We're all double agents, user. It's true.
すごいなあ
they wrote the "guide"
That's why we established wanikani as a side project some years ago.
>everything you learned is wrong
>the dictionary/thing that you used to find out kanji meanings were all wrong
>you might think you have perfect japanese
>but in reality you have perfect reverse japanese
>what you think you're reading is completely different than what it actually says
>everything is a ruse
>you cannot learn japanese
>everything is a lie
>Wanting to stop people from learning 日本語 just so they can censor the evil things that control peoples mind known as 'tits'
Kek.
its actually the zr that controls the world
ハンカクカタカナワサイリョウ!
Would it be possible to just read backwards so that you just get a reading the equivalent (or close ) to english?
When I read japanese everything feels backwards.
How can I stop this? When I read Japanese I make a mistake of reading it like an english speaker instead of absorbing it as a nip
get race reassignment surgery so you look japanese it worked for me
>why is Japanese not English
You can't learn Japanese
Something something reed more
Just read more, that's literally it. You'll get used to it and start to hate english
This this this.
I told my dad about this the other day when I went to visit. I told him how jisho.org was a fraud website and that nothing is actually correct. It's just the femanists trying to prevent me from seeing 2d boobs in their natural language. He called me crazy and called a psychiatrist (sp?). Anyways I'm stuck here in a mental health facility please help
>and start to hate english
Hm.
冗談じゃねえよ
how would you say "if i had gone I would have eaten" while implying that I never went nor ate
宿題は自分でしろ
It's not homework. I was just trying to say something like that in another thread.
Don't know?
どいつもこいつもこれくらいで何ギャーギャー言ってんだ
もし行ったら食った?
本当に行くつもりだったら食べるのがきっと
行ったら食べたんだけど…
So, how would I say that I've been doing something for x amount of time.
Ex:
>You should totally watch this youtuber, he's great!
>I've already been watching his videos for 3 months now
I'm thinking i'd say something like
俺は彼の動画もう3ヶ月ぐらい見ているよ
im not gonna help you with your posting career squirt
If I really intended to go, I would definitely eat.
なに?意味はちょっと違うの?
If you don't know, you don't have to comment.
Fuck off.
good thing i do know thats why i commented
I feel like a particle is missing after 映画, but I don't know anything.
yeah, forgot to put a は
I've been using wanikani for a few weeks mow and I have to say it's really good. Way better than that core6k bullshit which just tosses you into the deep end with no context. Why did you faggot lie to me? If I hadn't fallen for the anti-wanikani meme I would have made so much more progress by now.
>Way better than that core6k bullshit which just tosses you into the deep end with no context
説明してくれ
You don't learn to swim in a puddle of water.
The only way to improve is to challenge yourself and even so Coredecks aren't even hard just TEDIOUS like everything else in Japanese.
Wanikani shill please go
Anyone ever notice how much sleep you get affects your Japanese for the day
It's almost as if sleep is directly tied to your brain and bodily functions... すごいですね
Nope. I've only been sleeping 6 hours for the past two weeks and I still have 94% retention of my mature cards in Anki.
The reviews have been taking me ten minutes longer for the same number of cards though... I really need to stop coming here during the week but I love you guys too much.
Does it? The only thing I can think of is retention and speed. Other than that, Japanese is tedious as fuck anyways.
Now leave and come back when you finish it in 2+ years.
>tfw been on /djt/ for a year now and haven't finished yet
>working for wanikani
>advertising wanikani on Sup Forums
That too but I meant more reading wise like reading comp. goes to shit for me
i enjoy wanikani i do it with my dad
