How do you figure? 10th anniversary of S&W is pretty much a given that a studio will pick up the series again. Especially since its following has gained a lot of popularity as of late.

10 years of Haruhi came and went. Promotional efforts for pachinkoshit drew a lot of hype. Tons of material to adapt. More likely to get a new adaptation because it's not officially over. They even got the cast back together earlier this year. You never really know.

Its definitely possible. If we live in a universe where s3 actually happens then it would happen now. I just don't see the announcement of a sequel series being a reason to make a season 3 for old material.
