>Boruto is top of charts
Heh

Rebooting Naruto and making Sasuke a girl was the most fucking brilliant idea Kishimoto has ever had.

4 days, other guy writting ,the critics of the draw, and the volume is a retelling of a movie, not excuse to that number but still they amaze me these numbres, not the first time a "new begining/generation" flop hard.

No Shokugeki anywhere in the top 50?

>expecting Shokugeki to sell more than 10k

>43. *16,157 *,*69,791 New Game! Vol.4
>44. *16,002 *,*68,569 New Game! Vol.5

New Game will outsell Gochiusa, they said.

I thought it was 7th place last year

>naruto sold around a million copies per volume
>boludo begins at 180000
wew

How much Gochiusa's manga usually sells?

Yuragi-sou second volume is quite high in comparison to volume 2 to other series in the Jump (its higher than Hakyuu then WT)

│200626 (3)│Ass Class 2
│167905 (7)│Hero 2
│134842 (6)│Soma 2
│*73216 (5)│Nisekoi 2
│*66847 (6)│Toriko 2
│*64,527(4)│Yuuna 2
│*61918 (6)│Black Clover 2
│*46784 (3)│Hakyuu 2
│*46778 (6)│Saiki PSY 2
│*31157 (5)│World Trigger 2
│*28864 (6)│Hinomaru 2
│*25629 (3)│Isobee 2

Those aren't full week sales. Gintama, Toriko usually sell more.

>Make Sasuke a girl
>give her glasses
>have her be cute and pure so the transition to edge is that much more painful
SASUGA KISHIMOTO SENSEI!

I know but that wasn't what I asked.

I mean it's by his assistant, it's recapping the movie, and its STILL top of the sales!

One piece doesn't sell much :o

Huh, good point. Isn't One Piece automatically a top seller? Why is it so low this week?

How the fuck did SnS drop so much

Last one sold 71373 in two weeks. So, pretty close actually. Next volume comes out at the end of August.

Shinmai Maou no Testament: Sweet!
Can't wait for volume 10

>*1. 183,413 *,183,413 Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Vol.1
HOW IS THIS SHIT SELLING?

The power of best girl

SnS didn't have a volume released this month
these are the sales for the second volume which was released in 2012

Even better-- the relationship and conflict between Naruto and Sasuke was the strongest emotional bond in the original Naruto. If you make Sasuke into a girl, there's no need for the story to get bogged down with Sakura and it gives any possible future conflict between the two that much more weight.

It's so fucking smart I almost suspect it wasn't Kishimoto's idea.

Boruto dragging every manga through the mud.

>sn't One Piece automatically a top seller? Why is it so low this week?

>13.
>*48,887
>2,285,588
>One Piece Vol.82

It's sold 48887 this week and around 2.3 million overall.

It isn't normal for a battle manga from Jump to struggle to reach 100k after 7 volumes

It seems that Black Clover is not as popular as Jump ranking want us to believe

Unless I'm missing something, Bleach isn't even on here, right?

Also, how the hell is that awful Platinum End so high?

The continuation of a popular manga that's serializing its very popular movie is selling, yes.

I mean, yeah, the art is shit but when something is popular enough it works like a snowball regardless of quality. .

>Bleach
It came out in July 4th as volume 73. Volume 74 isn't complete yet due to there being one chapter left (and maybe some post chapter stuff)?

They said volume 74 doesn't come out until the fall. So no, Bleach would not be up here

Well no shit. It's part of their 'WE NEED NARUTO CLONES" plan. My Hero Academia, Boruto and Black Clover are all the Naruto clones

Assassination Classroom. Haiyukuu, Bleach and Hunter X Hunter still sell much more than those three crap manga.

Boruto's sales are anything to be proud of. Especially since such manga like Assassination Classroom, Haiyukuu, Bleach, HunterxHunter and even My Hero Academia still sell more than that garbage. Not even the people like
can give any good reason for it.

>emoticon faggotry
Fuck off.

A lot of people have already bought the volume previous weeks.

The only best about that slut are her cute hips

Unfortunately Bort is going to end up getting some other edgy husbando to cross figurative dicks with.

So now that continuing existing series with new artists and writers is a thing now (see Dragonball Super and Boruto), are we going to get a situation similar to western comics, where multiple artists and writers can make stories about the same characters?

>Manga sells about as much in one week as comics do in a month

Why is the comic industry so dead? Not even piggy backing on Hollywood they can manage to sell more.

How will WSJ's new series sell?

I think part of it is how they make it almost impossible for newcomers to pick up a series and just start.

...

Story went full retard.

>Toriko plced fourth
and faggots said it was dead.

It's true though. Weekly Shonen Jump has been doing nothing but hurting it's rising stars or strong past favorites for manga that basically follow the Naruto formula.

>Did things really have to turn out like this?
>Yes.

Every fucking time. It literally cannot get more fanfiction-tier than this

>20. *30,870 *,*30,870 Minami-ke Vol.15

S4 when?

Around 20k

This. They did the same with their sport manga

>41. *16,323 *,*16,323 Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol.2

Soon to be axed ;_;

>Toriko that high
I KNEW THE HYPE TRAIN WOULDN'T DIE MIDORA MAKNIG TORIKO GREAT AGAIN

I think they seem to be somewhat pushing Neverland when compared to the more traditional Jump manga they have coming up. Going first in a new release batch is a huge advantage.

I doubt it. Last thing you want is your own comics competing yourself.

>tfw Boruto gets his byakugan and his whole squad gets their power ups but this shit still happens
Why is this opening such a good hook? Fucking Boruto

I'm still convinced they're going to go with a cop-out for Naruto's death,

>Juu: Ninpou Makai Tensei Vol.9
why has no one picked this up

>boruto is actually selling
Wew
Who's ready for ichizen?
Gonlua never

I can't beleive Boruto is on top. Looks like the Naruto legacy is still here to saty. Good for the assistant i guess but i can't wait to see the new manga kishi is making

>10. *64,527 *,*64,527 Yuragisou no Yuuna-san Vol.2

My soft ghost is going OK ...

too bad the art from the new manga is shit and after the movie content ends the story will go full fanfiction.

wow people are actually buying this piece of turd?

How much did pic related sell?

>41. *16,323 *,*16,323 Kimetsu no Yaiba Vol.2
Please survive.

How do I read this?

>*2. 132,800 *,132,800 Gintama Vol.65
i never thought that Gintama would be that high

1.) The "Naruto" formula isn't exactly a formula that exclusive to Naruto and if you weren't such a newshit then you would realize how stupid your comment is
2.) It make sense due to the generational gap in which the new artist come by. What was the main influence for shounen manga within the last generation gap? Dragonball.
3.) Doesn't seem to be hurting anyone. BC is shit because its largely uninspired and the mangaka just seems to be a weak writer in general and its influences are irrelevant.

and assassination classroom and bleach are good, right?

>Naruto clones
The very notion that you believe Naruto is original is more insulting then calling BnHA a Naruto clobe.

>BnHA a Naruto clone.
It is tho

I love this meme

Yes yes and Bakugou, Shouto and Iida are Sasuke clones. Give a rest already.

>Next volume comes out at the end of August
Thanks god finally someone said it, I'm missing gochiusa so hard.

I'm sure when Naruto, HxH, Shaman King and OP started, there were guys like you saying "DRAGON BALL CLONES".

Every manga follows a formula. It is Jump, man. Wake up! Haikyuu follows KnB and Slam Dunk. Bleach follows Saint Seiya and YYH. Naruto follows HxH and Dragon Ball. HxH follows Dragon Ball and JoJo.

Get a supposedly original premise does not necessarily make a good story. The manga you mentioned, Assassination Classroom, is an example of great idea wasted on a boring writing.

literal garbage taste holy shit

>*1. 183,413 *,183,413 Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Vol.1
Looks like its going the way of Kinnikuman Nisei and Shaman King Flowers. Do Nips hate Boruto as much as Mantaro and Hana?

>boring writing
What? It's a japanese manga that heavily relays on what a japanese school kid would experience -and what they wish they'd experience as well-. Why do you think it was an instant success?

Boring writing? A lot of the stuff in the middle can be a little meh for us, but the last 30 chapters were brilliant.

>7. *78,464 *,*78,464 Black Clover Vol.7
>*4. *9,527 **9,527 Black Clover: Abareushi no Sho

What a fucking rip off.

>"Why Boruto are selling so much?"

Because it's based on a hit series. That's it. You guys really thought it was going to sell little? C'mon. The name of an artist helps a lot. See Gin no Saji, sells more than 700k per volume. And although it is not a bad manga, would never have reached those numbers if the author was not the same as FMA. Same with Bakuman and Platinum End.

>It's a japanese manga that heavily relays on what a japanese school kid would experience -and what they wish they'd experience as well-.
Which not a compelling manga makes. It wasn't even remotely engaging like other "school life" manga.
>Why do you think it was an instant success?
Couldn't tell ya honestly. The gags weren't great, the art sucks, the characters were dull and the plot never got interesting. I guess like all of us they got caught up in the premise which never delivered.

>but the last 30 chapters were brilliant.
An incredibly sappy backstory for the once interesting Koro-sensei, follow by a shitty last boss and then tapped off with a somber finale complete with a Harry Potter esque epilogue where everyone' marry everyone? Hardly brilliant.

Bakuman did great for itself despite having the pedigree of two talents coming off the international smash hit Death Note just as it came off the huge hit Hikaru no Go. Platinum End doesn't seem to be doing as well as all their other works and its much more poorly received in comparison.

define that mystical "naruto formula" l need a laff

l don't get it, why are you guys impressed by these numbers

naruto used to do 700 000-800 000 copies in its first week, this is a catastrophic drop

>Boy wants to become X
>Boy has rival
>Boy has power that's different from others

That's it

Again, the ideas and themes are interesting. I understand the reason for the success, but popularity and quality are different things. The development is rushed and too safe. 99% of the characters are forgettable. And the resolution of every arc is full of plot convenience (catchup, miraculous resuscitation tactics, clap stunner shit etc).

For good reason. Death Note was lightening in a bottle, and they think they can just do it all over again with Platinum End.

In Death Note, the rules of the book were gradually revealed as the story progressed. In Platinum End, it's all laid out in the first three chapters.

This. Also he double-downed on the sauce by making the new MC his surrogate. Nips love the sauce

and that automatically makes any story be bad, right? after all, what matters is the premise, not the development. thank you, senpai.

a) This is a brand new series so automatically there's going to a portion who aren't going to be interested
b) Kishimoto isn't behind this. This is a huge kicker for a lot of people since a big part of Naruto's appeal was Kishi's art and...ugh...writing and having someone different isn't going to win over old fans
c) Its following the movies plot. Same situation with the Dragonball Super manga, why are you retelling events I've already seen in a poorly drawn fashion? Maybe sales will increase once it goes beyond that but the media res hook doesn't seem to be doing any favors.

As a spin-off series not from the main author these are very respectable numbers that can grow within time but for now they're nothing to go apeshit over.

>kishimoto invented protagonists with goals, rivals and special powers
this is even better than what l expected

Because it's nardo. Relax, it's still selling significantly less than the last 3 nardo volumes.

And he also replaced useless shitty Sakura with a likable character who knows their place and is capable of standing on their own.

>Maybe sales will increase once it goes beyond that but the media res hook doesn't seem to be doing any favors.
I don't know what Naruto's core fanbase thinks, but everyone I've seen says it looks cliche and stupid. If anything it seems to discourage more than hook.

Because Kishi is a master at dicking you around. Now even though there's this unbelievably shitty movie rehash arc going on you're still hype for what you saw at the beginning, and will thus stick with it until you find out just what the hell happened

This. nardo ain't dead. This is the 3rd time they've used that as b8, and it always works

This. Hell, I'm surprised the first volume sold this well considering the fact it's mostly movie rehash. Really only something to get for the collector nuts out there.

Well the difference between all their previous works and Platinum End was that they all had fairly simple premises.
>A boy learns how to play Go with the help of a ghost
>A boy finds a book that'll kill anyone who's name is written in it
>Two boys wants to pursue a career in manga

Compare that to Platinum End
>A suicidal teenager is saved by an angel where he finds out that his aunt and uncle was responsible for the death of his parents but wait he is a candidate to become the next God so he must participate in a game of death against the other candidates.

The first volume also came with Mitsuki's one-shot and Boruto artwork by Kishi so that probably helped.

In comparison DBS v1 sold 30,000 which is far more embrassing

Still, between the Jump issues, the online scans, and the movie itself, there's not very many reasons for someone to buy this.

Jesus fuck. And that's still going, isn't it?

Burrito is going to be here forever

Naruto is one of the best manga ever so it was to expect. Based Kishimoto
