What does Sup Forums think of Psycho-Pass?
Poor man's Stand Alone Complex.
Gen Urobuchi's characters are so humorless and boring, would it kill the guy to inject some fun into his work?
First Season was better than the second.
and the movie was also shit.
Tanoshii desu. Interesting take on the concepts of absolute security and freedom.
Certainly, the second season was terrible.
I thought the gun they used was fun.
Akane was fun
Wtf? If I punched a brain with my fist the brain would lose instantly.
SPOOKY BOOGIE
It was funny how they pronounced that.
By far one of the greatest shows of all time. The mere mention of this masterpiece is enough to make my day.
If anybody wants I can dump some analysis and answer so called plot holes like I did in the last thread about shooting Makishima.
It also made no fucking sense.
Why the fuck can't they just trust the operator's judgement instead of implementing a retarded "crime measurement" or whatever?
What is "the story of the negro in America" for 100.
What? Are you retarded?
>"what is the plot" the post
I imagine so Sibyl can judge people impartially. If you leave things up to fallible humans, you get things like inappropriate sympathy, or on the other side of the spectrum, police brutality against innocents. It also seems unlikely that a lone human can assess someone's long-term (dis)value to the world as well as Sybil.
I
WOULD LIKE TO SHOW
How is it possible to miss the point of the show so fucking much. The whole point of the show is that the Sibyl System can measure a person's crime coefficient, and is designed to bring the most happiness to the most amount of people. The idea is that the system is better than humans and humans are just an accessory to the system because not everyone can be constantly scanned at once. Not only that but to better work people need to trust the system and being forced to abide by the system's will is the ultimate symbol in building a dependency. Why would you want to kill someone who doesn't have a flawed Psycho-Pass. If you are talking about people like Makishima they are incredibly rare and you should remember how desperate the Sibyl System is to keep these types of people hidden.
CRACK OPEN MY SKULL
LOOK INTO MY HEAD
S1 was legimately great. Not a flawless masterpiece or anything but thoroughly enjoyable even if it did have some more ridiculous parts especially towards the end.
S2 was a massive disappointment. Just felt like it didn't actually know what it was even trying to to. Became more and more of a chore to watch as it went on and couldn't even redeem itself with a good ending.
Movie was very forgettable and completely mediocre. The bad engrish certainly didn't help either. I sometimes even forget it exists unless I'm actively reminded of it.
>shooting Makishima
Why is that considered a plot hole?
The movie was better than S2 for the sole reason that it had best boy.
Is there going to be another season?
CAUSE I FEEEEEEEEEEL
I hear bitches like it
A lot of people in an earlier thread said that they should just have shot Makishima earlier, which is obviously stupid for equally obvious reasons.
The movie was fucking great. The philosophy was great even if it was extremely subtle. Also just avoid the engrish by watching the dub since it is one of the few actually good dubs.
>What does Sup Forums think of Psycho-Pass?
I think it's fucking shit.
I think you're fucking shit. I bet you didn't even finish the show and you think quoting the philosophers was pretentious.
>and you think quoting the philosophers was pretentious.
Not pretentious. just fucking stupid just like the tumblr shits who enjoy shallow shit like this.
Why would people form Tumblr be particularly partial to Psycho-Pass?
You do realize that Psycho-Pass spoke heavily against politically correct culture and strong governments right? The quoting of philosophers was incredibly relevant to the shows current themes and character's goals. If you think they didn't make sense you have no right saying that Psycho-Pass was shallow because you clearly missed the entire show's point. With your logic quoting people is always stupid, which is rather stupid.
Because tumblr loves strong governments with their precious socialism, and they need our politically correct culture to function.
It was great. The series could've done away with the multi-avatar guy and had a better way to introduce the final scheme, but other than that I liked it all around.
Second season I dropped in the first episode because it was just so terrible I didn't bother. Haven't seen the movie.
I rewatched GITSSAC recently and, with exception of the arc with the multi-avatar guy, Psycho-Pass is just better all around. GITSSAC builds a neat world but most of the episodes had no buildup or payoff, just "a mystery!" and then "here's the reveal of everything in the last three minutes!". The idea presented by the overall Laughing Man story was definitely new and unique to me at the time, and I can't rediscover that idea now because now I know it like the back of my hand, but the presentation itself was not very intriguing. GITSSAC 2nd GIG was entirely worse; significantly diminished world-building and the only time I gave a shit was the child flashback and the sniper flashback episodes. Both seasons had great animation of unique angles and acrobatics, but nothing for the story. If it was great, it hasn't aged well.
The Major is hot, there's more good music, and there's more in-depth philosophy stuff, but in both seasons it came at the cost of characters and a story which I felt connected to.
I haven't rewatched the GITSSAC movie, but I don't remember anything about it except that Aramaki showed up on the field and Togusa was a head honcho.
The forum arc in Psycho-Pass was great. That was when they first started to bring up the definition of self, the influence of media and society, the idea of symbolic importance, very subtle Makishima character development, interesting takes on how the Sibyl system affects people, and some nice world building.
Started with a bang, ended with a fizzle. Main characters were garbage and predictable, main story was weak as shit. It could of been way better had the characters had some damn personality.
I didn't like season 2 and consider it to be a bad season.
If you think the characters were boring I think the whole show must have gone over your head.

You need these, and even then all of these don't even cover half of it.
Hmm. You're right. I guess I just took most of what was presented in that arc for granted because it was close enough to real life.
I just hated the fight~end sequence with that guy. The furniture holograms he used to escape from that one room were so out of place visually compared to everything else in the series it colored my memory of everything to do with that guy.
I think it will still be talked about 10 years from now.
I see what you mean, but when Makishima basically destroyed the multi-avatar dude's symbols (the forum celebrities) and revealed him as a being a step below other humans that was pretty epic.
S3 when?
with the way S2 and the movie came out, hopefully never
