SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA:

Can the series still be saved?

Yes. Kill Azami and expel Megumi.

Hisako being in that group makes no sense. She even LOOKS out of place.

Remove Meat, Megumi, and Azami.

After Hisako's Stagiere with Soma she's determined to become more than just Erina's shadow after the pep-talk he gave her.

That panel's just a reflection of that change in her character, the real out of place one there is Mimisaka, he's just copying everybody else to fit in

Kill Azami.
Make Erina and Soma a couple.
Stop making the risks "oh no they are gonna get expelled" because that's obviously never gonna happen.
Go to internationals after E10 and Azami are defeated.

It already has been saved, you can thank Erina-sama.

No no I get the whole conviction part, she wasn't just one of the "intense" types of personalities to begin with. It doesn't suit her. When she puts on her game face she looks serious instead of intense, the panel of her chopping off the turtle head illustrated that perfectly.

>Make Erina and Soma a couple
Only a matter of time.

>Go to internationals after E10 and Azami are defeated.
inb4 tootsuki foreign transfer student that acts a lot like souma

I want it bad desu

Is Erina going to use the shoujo manga as a relationship guide

She's only in a state of enjoying his company now, only when this is all over will she start having real feelings for him. Then, she'll probably spaghetti all over the place without knowing what to do, maybe ask Alice who'll tell her some dumb bullshit. Of course, this is a shonen manga, so none of this will get the focus and it'll only conclude in the epilogue.

Will we get spoilers earlier the next week? You can just be on break when it's becoming kinda interesting again.

It's so boring though that this always happens. I don't care too much about the dumb pairing wars but I would like to be surprised for once in a mainstream manga. Tired of the main chick always winning. That shit's overdone to death. Been too long since I finished TWGOK.

Stagiere was so long ago though. Her character hasn't really developed at all since then. The most she got was being allowed to leave Erina's side during break. Big fucking deal. I even feel like Megumi more now. There are panels where you see her cook and she feels stronger but Hisako just feels like she's along for the ride.

Bleach spoilers hit Satunurday, any reason not to assume the same for SnS?

I really hope Erina doesn't spaghetti, and you're right that that's possible and holy shit would it suck if it were true.

As far as Shonen mangas go though, the relationship has gotten a ton of focus compared to other series, it's pretty much central and you can see them tracing out the blueprint they followed in the prologue chapter for it.

Also go read the prologue chapter, it's amazing how much worse Soma looks in it and how qt beta Erina is.

>Bleach spoilers hit Satunurday, any reason not to assume the same for SnS?
Yeah, but the next ep of sns isnt the finale of one of the big 3 of the jump.

After the last chapter with the lots of interactions I just want the comfy valentine's arc where everyone gets laid that will never happen. Thanks Azami

Please, Christmas is a whole 2 months sooner

Remove Megumi, and make sure Erina is on every panel. If Erina for some reason can not be on a panel, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Erina"?

I never got into any of them because they were just so dauntingly long with no end in sight either, will one piece be ending soon too? I might actually read them all once they've all ended.

>will one piece be ending soon too?

Maybe in 30 years more.

No, user, it's been going for 20 years and he says it's like 2/3 done. Come back in 10 years.

god damn it seriously? what the hell

Erina arrived this week and she is glorious

Tsukuda finally answered my question and it's hilarious.

>I look forward to Shokugeki no Soma every week! We're not very far into the Advancement Exams arc but I already have a question, why doesn't Director Azami simply expel all the rebels?

>Thank you for reading! It's probably because if he just expelled them, they won't truly despair... is what I think.

Tsukuda a cute

She truly is beautiful. What color are her pantsu?

can you see her panties?

Fuck I wish I knew the Japanese to ask a question, it's really cool that he answers them

What is this from? I've heard this before.

White

Google translate

The way it should be

Pic?

>using Giggle Translate
He would either die laughing or misunderstand the question.

Oh wow he actually answered a question from a fan? Relating to the plot? Nice desu.

We should ask him more stuff. Actually important stuff, not inane shit.

Then he won't answer retard. At the very least we know Azami is a sadist now.

He answered a lot before too, like that Souma's mother is dead, Erina is going to develop feelings for Souma, Megumi may or no have a second personality or that he doesn't know if manga will reach graduation.
And some other irrelevant shit too.

No I mean, that question was fine. Inane shit would be like "who is you're waifu" "can we please get some porn" "when does megoomy fuck off"

Ah okay I misunderstood.

Holy shit is there a list of answered questions anywhere

And he flat out admitted that with Erina?

Not for a few years.

Seriously, it's going to be bad until Azami leaves. It'll be a while.

I'm really considering dropping it, but I dump it every Monday. Maybe I'll just rip and provide it instead, it's not as if I like it for now and I know it's not going to suddenly recover; these flaws are fucking fundamental.

He does. It's how we got confirmation of Souma's mom being dead. He was answering a little too much before honestly. So I think an editor reigned him in a little.

>dumping Viz
Just ripping and providing would be fine.

I mean hey, I like doing it when people are talking, but SnS threads have been quite dead.

Azami will get the evil fed out of him by Jouichirou next chapter user.

He will become the good headmaster and lead Tootsuki back into fun.

>Make Erina and Soma a couple.
first make me actually interested in seeing Souma romantically involved with another human being, he's too up his own ass about cooking at this point. Like...he's immature.

The better explanation is that he wants to institute his cooking into the whole world, not just Tootsuki. Since Tootsuki students were already the most influential supply of talent in Japan anyways, having the up-and-coming rebels all gathered in front of him is convenient since he can crush them now instead of trying to worry about it later.

C'mon Tsukuda, you should know your own plot.

You might want to go reread the chapters where he's talking with Erina before they go to Hokkaido, user.

He know what he do.

I remember when we used to have a thread up 24/7 even when the season wasn't airing, how times have changed.

This is the Erina one, I think.
twitter.com/HongtongW/status/629600382440738817

Because back then people thought this was going to be a darker shounen with loses and despair but it turns out it's pretty light hearted and over the top.

I've read them, it's more as if he tends to bumble his way into sounding arguably smooth.

He's still young so it's fine, I just see him too much as a "boy". I doubt he's ever even considered romance. It's different from a simple dense male lead.

That reminds me, Meat sure sucks.

Well, you complain about how bad it is and people already get their fix from spoiler night/early gook scans. Plus, the overall consensus is that NS and Viz are about equally bad with their TL.

>having a pseudo-general up
If anything that saved the threads from becoming much worse. Look at Bleach. I know most of the meltdown is because it's ending, but even before the big announcement the threads were embarrassing.

Yeah, that's the one. The editor probably slapped his ass for giving away such an important detail over a tweet.

New ch threads still tend to fill up as do ep threads on release. The Viz threads are definitely dead.

Long ago it was bouyed by having one day for spoilers, the next for raw release, then another day for some speedscan, another day for the anime ep, casanova after that, and viz capping it off just a bit before spoilers.

Now spoilers and an ok quality scan are all done in one day. The gap from spoilers to raw (or Korean rather) to a scan is very small.

Just cauught up to the manga. Seems like everyone hates here hates the stuff with Erina's dad too.
But more importantly, is there any series that has this many best girls?

You have to build a shrine to Erina-sama.

In WSJ or in general?

>is there any series that has this many best girls?
There aren't many girls in SnS for which I'd say "yeah most people like them"

Like, Alice, Hisako, and MAYBE Rindou (specifically for her looks)

Erina and Megumi both have retarded hate groups. I like both of them myself but most like to paint it as if you can only like one or the other for some reason

In general, can't think of any manga I've read where I want to impregnate all the girls.

>Erina and Megumi both have retarded hate groups
A few years ago people loved Megumi and shat on Erina
Now people love Erina and shit on Megumi
Funny how that works.

>shit on Megumi
What exactly is wrong with Megumi? She's not the greatest character sure but she's still pretty likeable.

I like and enjoy all the Shokugekis, except Azami. Please fuck off already.

People don't like that she's shy/nervous and also don't like how she's essentially a second love interest.

Reminder that Souma has 4 love interests and nearly everyone hates the 3rd and forgets the 4th.

I'm actually ok with most of what came out of Erina's dad showing up? Some really good things came out of it (Eizan, "Jouichirou Saiba", Erina's development and joining PSD) but I imagine it was really painful to read over a year and the situation's kind of frighteningly out of place for what's a pretty light manga (oh, no pressure at all, Soma, but pic related is what happens to your friend if your group gets expelled).

If nothing else Azami is the most disturbing villain out of a Shonen Jump series for me just because of how low-key and close to reality his worst shit is, whether or not he belongs in the manga at this point (which he really doesn't, and I think he should probably go sooner rather than later)

Reposting what some user wrote earlier this week:

>plain both in appearance and personality
>ceased developing as a character in the Autumn Elections arc
>has done absolutely nothing of note over the course of the story, only there to act as the audience surrogate and react/ask questions
>very vocal fans antagonized other fans, not only the waifufags but the fanbase in general
>remains a spineless wimp despite a recent streak of successes both with and without Souma's help, support from friends, and encouragement from God Tongue Erina
>takes away screen time from more deserving/interesting characters
>the infamous pose has by this point become her sole identifying trait, comparable to Orihime's KUROSAKI-KUN in Hueco Mundo arc
A couple of those are exaggerated but mostly it's true that Megumi is a weak character who takes screen time away from others.

>a second love interest
Is she though? I think there was a hint earlier on that she liked him but lately they just feel like good friends. And who's the 4th then? Niku is obvious, Erina is also getting there and will obviously win too. Other than those 2 I didn't really catch any hints.

Meat and Childhood friend are irrelevant as fuck and Megumi doesn't like him that way.

Shipping is a mistake.

Random girl from the 1st chapter and Karaage.

Childhood friend (Kurase) is vaguely hinted to have something for Souma, though she was never really his "friend" when you think about it.

>never even talked properly

>takes screen time away from others
That's dumb.

It implies Tsukuda even gives any focus to other characters in the first place. She no more "takes screen time" than Souma.

Takumi? Barely appears. Hayama? Forgotten. Alice has some more prominence now but that was very sudden and she's still mostly irrelevant.

She isn't a love interest but don't be stupid, she will be, and that's not just speculating based on genre conventions; they outright hint that it'll happen.

It made me mad when it happened because I really don't want her to be a love interest. It's cheap.

>>very vocal fans antagonized other fans, not only the waifufags but the fanbase in general
Ah offcourse, shitting on the fanbase of a girl you don't like. How original.

Relax user, Takumi's on interception for Megumi, you're covered.

>comparable to Orihime's KUROSAKI-KUN in Hueco Mundo arc
Not at all.

It's just some pose she has. At this point, she acts like every character in Shokugeki no Souma: "expected and with hardly any importance"

Souma aside, of course.

Oh right, but she's beyond irrelevant. And I'm pretty sure she said she doesn't really know Souma either.

>It implies Tsukuda even gives any focus to other characters in the first place
Maybe he can if Megumi gets out of fucking the picture. Look what he did with Hisako and even Souma himself when they were isolated from the rest.

She could still win, user, stranger things have happened.

And it'd be on the level of a war crime if it did

I don't want any romance with her, let alone with some gay boy she's never actually spoken with outside of extra material.

I like her as a character who's good at what she does and there you have it. Like Hisako; a bro and that's where it ends.

You're being dumb. During that same arc I'm pretty sure we didn't see anyone aside from Souma, Hisako, Erina, and Megumi (ironically, since you're complaining about her) beyond very small cameos. Hisako was relevant for that arc because she had issues with Erina, another main character, at the time. Megumi's presence or lack of presence won't change how Tsukuda is lousy at handling a large cast.

He's also just plain a fool
>entire school of hardened cooking elites
>literally the only group that can stop the new regime is a bunch of freshman
>throwaway comments that "they're special" to justify it

He's really garbage.

Pherhaps she'll join the school too at some point and it'll turn out she was a cooking prodigy all along.

Also this was probably already mentionned a bunch of times but this manga has stage and stagiaire backwards.
stagiaire = intern
stage = internship(or place of)

>At this point, she acts like every character in Shokugeki no Souma: "expected and with hardly any importance"
The difference is that the other characters have some kind of function to them and they fit as part of the ensemble.

Takumi is Souma's rival and foil
Alice is Erina's rival (?) and foil, also a tease
Ryou is the double personality rage character
Hisako is the loyal lackey who has her own charisma
Yoshino and Ryoko are energetic cheerleaders
Buttbros are comic relief
Giganigga and Nao are the creepy characters who also brings humor

And so on. Notice that Hayama isn't on that list because he's just as weak of a character besides muh Jun.

>Megumi's presence or lack of presence won't change how Tsukuda is lousy at handling a large cast
You realize you just admitted that it doesn't matter if Megumi is there or not. That's her issue - she's just there. Which irks people because maybe she doesn't actively make the story worse, but she sure isn't making it better. So why not move her out of the way and bring in other characters? Make the large cast more streamlined by pruning the static members.

I'm scared as shit of SnS going down the same road as Bleach.

We've got Aizen, we've got the genre switch, is it too late?

>Hayama isn't on that list because he's just as weak of a character

Hayama a shit, I'm glad he fucking died.

It doesn't need to be saved faggot.

>>literally the only group that can stop the new regime is a bunch of freshman
It's hinted that there's more people actually. Souma's dad and his first place buddy will probably do something and the guys that were kicked off the elite 10 too. Like that guy with the broken nose.

Two things:

SnS power levels, while still inconsistent at best and incomprehensible at worst, will never blow up to ridiculous meta levels like Bleach did.

Erina will retain her relevance unlike Rukia because she is one of the most powerful characters (or at least the one with most potential) and central to the main plot. Unless Tsukuda branches out wildly after Souma surpasses his dad and goes on to do bigger things.

>why not move her out of the way and bring in other characters? Make the large cast more streamlined by pruning the static members.
You're just ignoring my point, or missing it or whatever.

This isn't about Megumi at all. If she wasn't there, Tsukuda wouldn't bring in someone to "replace her" or something, that's not how he writes. You seem to think this conclusion of yours and suggestion is what he'd obviously do if he didn't bring in Megumi all the time, but he wouldn't. Megumi in the Karaage arc? Surprisingly unimportant, forgotten again immediately thereafter. Hisako in Stagiare? An outlier case, I'm actually surprised at how well Hisako is handled given Tsukuda handles EVERYONE else poorly.

On that note

>Takumi is Souma's rival and foil
Not at all. Who made it to the election finals? Who among the cast tends to appear more? It's not Takumi. Takumi only seems like a rival at first, but it quickly becomes apparent that Tsukuda is too lazy for that.
>Alice is Erina's rival (?) and foil, also a tease
Yes, though she rarely appears. Even now that she's somewhat important, she's not doing much. Arguably this is a fault of the arc itself, because this arc sucks.
>Ryou is the double personality rage character
And that is all. Kind of like how meat is "the tsundere". Also like Takumi, another case of "could be interesting/better utilized; isn't"
>Hisako is the loyal lackey who has her own charisma
Yes.
>Yoshino and Ryoko are energetic cheerleaders
Who's Ryoko? I recognize the Yoshino name. On that note, the entirety of PSD is fucking wasted. They pretty much all suck, even the more relevant ones.
>Buttbros are comic relief
You don't even know their names. Nobody does.
>Giganigga and Nao are the creepy characters who also brings humor
I like Nao but she's a bit character. Giganigga has become a bit character as well.

It's funny you complain about Hayama because along with Ryou he's one of the two characters who could actually be a rival to Souma.

Timeskip and start an arc about their adult life as a chef. We have enough of their school life shenanigans and tournament/test/exam.

Expel the fat Aldini, and the minor members of Polar Star

You can't keep this giant group together, and still let it grow. There is no threat at all yet, no one is struggling or getting expelled at this pace. Especially if they break even against the E10s

>Megumi in the Karaage arc?
I meant to type "Meat in the Karaage arc"

She sucks so much I can't even remember her when I'm remembering her.

>TWGOK's ending girl
>Surprising girl
Yeah, right.

He's the eighth most popular character user, Pajeet is coming back to fight for the bad guys.

>Your face if he shows up as eighth seat and worfs Erina

What the fuck kind of monster is Gin anyways, Jouichirou is always spoken of as if he's a God by basically everybody and Gin's the guy that's above that.

Won't happen. What Tsukuda is trying to do is, he wants the tension of crazy challenges and when the heroes win, there's satisfaction.

It seriously isn't working.

See, the manga is a comedy at its core, even with the expulsion premise. So, nothing as serious as "cast shrinking" is ever going to happen. EVER. This is probably why Tsukuda's not even sure the manga will go to graduation, because that would mean you'd need to write members out of the cast.

Erina could've been a rival to Soma, that's probably mostly out the window now though.

I don't think we know if Gin truly was better than Jouchirou seeing as Jou always docked around and would lose his seat pretty often. Also Jou got a power up after falling in love didn't he?

Kind of funny seeing retards take this manga far too seriously. Just because you like overly developed characters in a cooking manga doesn't mean everyone does.

It's also by Erina's dad and the dorm manager that there were some cooking school politics going on during the time they all went to school so it's possible Jouichirou is actually a better chef but couldn't get first place because of some other reason. Or it's possible he just became better than Gin after school.
Also Jouichirou didn't seem to give much of a shit. Most important factor in life is always motivation.

I'm betting that the last match between those two got Jou as the winner and then he decided to fuck off from the school.
