Atm only tsuki, bear, and sword

Just finished the second volume of Magi's Grandson. Nice to finally find a lighthearted power fantasy. Shame the translator is undergoing surgery, though. It'll be a while before all of volume 3 is finished.

>reading
>America

LOL

Gonna start reading the legendary legend legend heroes of legend from where the anime ended. Goddamn that was one hell of a cliffhanger.

Also MT sucks ass.

just reading Kenkyo and Chinese novels at this point

currently reading Emperor's Domination good if you read TDG and thought "this fucker is not as OP as I expected, dropped"

The fuck is happening in Portugal? Cat has been having a string of bad luck lately.

It was definitely a weird turn. I don't if I've ever had as bad of luck as he's had these past few months. Pretty shit weather to be having lung problems in, too.

Been trying to make my way through Mahouka, but it's getting harder now that it's focusing on Tatsuya less and less. I'm about a third of the way through volume 9.

...

>power fantasy
Shill me on this. I need more power fantasy. There's too much light shit these days.

Right now I'm catching up with Golden Kamui and I Am a Hero.

reading chinese shit
homicidal rapey protags are a nice change of pace

Kotaro Makitorou
Kochikame
Negimaji Yagyu
Trash (won't recommend, didn't like it)
Captain Harlock
Devilman
Urusei Yatsura
Ranma 1/2
Lupin III
GTO
Mob Psycho 100
One punch man
Dr slump

Anythjng else from these authors.

I just finished The White Wolf's Weird. I think I might take a small break from Moorcock and read The Difference Engine. Though I'm kind of interested in reading either The Broken Sword or A Midsummer Tempest (half price was loaded last weekend).

Honestly, the summary says it all, and one chapter will tell you the tone of the series.

This wonderful romcom

Been reading Wuxia for a while but I'm about done.

All these chinese novels are so full edgy sociopath Mary sue shit that that I'm about ready to read anything else.

It's not like the writing quality could get any lower after all.

Have you read Earth Tactics Advance? It's only one volume, but it's done well.

Good taste mate. Read this last month and I'm reading Koisome Momiji right now.

Finished MT recently and am following Jobless Oblige
Kumo-chan
Slime Tensei
Lazy Dungeon Master
Chikyuu Tenseisha no Koroshikata (really good, but scans are already up to date)
I've also read everything translated for Dungeon Defense; loved volume 1, but volume 2 has been disappointing so far

Mushoku Tensei is wish fulfillment and Rudeus is shit. Enjoy your power fantasy for what it's worth.

I got warned for posting a list, which I don't get since it had LNs on it. I don't care though, read about 60 series, this is all that's been good so far.

Considering picking up some Chinese shit Emperor Domination, Arena (KR), Sevens (I can't get through the beginning but people praise this series so) and ISSTH. But I still hate cultivation series so I'm probably gonna drop the Chinese ones and finish Terror Infinity which is basically Gantz

that pic seems to be pedo as fuck

>just a cute girl
>seems to be pedo
???

I'm reading Psyren.

I didn't give you permission to use my photograph. Remove this at once, lolicon!

Kenkyo is pretty great. It's a shame that the WN doesn't update that much.

>common sense
update never

Check again, a new tl picked it up. He's not as fast as the one before but it's definitely being updated now

Goddamn. I checked it four times or so and all I saw was 4/27 as last upload date.

Thanks for the heads up.

All I see is a man and his hug-pillow

What loli are you talking about?

yep, pedo as fuck

Light novels belong on .

Please leave.

Is there any Isekai that's not wish fulfillment?

On volume 14 of DAL. Now I don't know what to pick up next

Slime Tensei
Zashiki Warashi
Index NT
Heavy Object
Summoned Slaughterer
Realist's Kingdom
Demon Loli Family
Parallel World Pharmacy

If you want to avoid anything like that just automatically exclude any Chinese novel with a harem. That or just read ISSTH and ATTE.

>Found out Manga Volume 2 is in stores.

>Demon Loli Family
This is new to me. What's this about?

Hard to say, all of them seem to get to a point where the mc gets the girl or the girls and enjoys his life somehow.
The few ones that try to start with tragedy always end with some wish fulfillment BS.

Kuro no Mao is pretty good if you're into suffering and yandere harem

Depends on what kind of wish fulfillment. I'm scouring for comfy jewing and invention Isekais myself like C-mart

And you belong in a grave, but it's really too bad that you even take up that much space. Your mother should have aborted you when she had the chance, you really shouldn't let trash pile up like that.

...

Black Rednecks and White Liberals by Thomas Sowell

Recently finished MT and what a great ride. I'm also done with Jobless, surprisingly it wasn't capeshit, if there's one thing Mushoku has going for its these Father-Son conversations that seem to be always solid

Now starting/reading

>Legend

A Traveller's history of RUSSIA and the USSR by peter Neville
Third Edition.

Yandere-chan's magical billiards adventure.

Forgot pic.

knowing that the loli in the image isnt pure is disturbing
knowing that she is a trained cumdumpster even moreso

Just started this, what am i into?

Why can't we have a real theme within LNs nowadays?

Magi's grandson was pretty disappointing.

Explain

Semi-rushed ending.

It's too bad that the translator is just using the series to jew out some money from donations.

Inconsistent characters. Headbangs. Chainsaw and murder. A fucking dude that causes shit to happen for his girlfriend. Some sort of entity that caused everything for his own curiosity but I call that him wanting amusement.

Only Hai to Grimgar, Shield Hero and Slime Tensei

new to reading ligth/web novels
kinda like the power fantasy aspect

forgot pic

The series exists to suck his dick. I lost interest pretty quickly.
Let's say this, "You are a hero, but only a hero. A monster." 10/10 theme. Beats power fantasy with an OP protagonist by actually having an actual deconstruction.

>The series exists to suck his dick. I lost interest pretty quickly.
Basically. I started losing interest when miss tits for brains fell in love with him (and he with her) for no reason at all.

Idrc, if people want to donate they can. If they don't then w/e

KnM is pretty shit

Uh, I didn't really get that, but as far as I'm aware, most stories have a theme although not always unique. It has one for the arcs.

I found the anime hilarious and hope for some rare jewels in the manga as well.

The idea is how the Yuusha is strong. Too strong. She is essentially alienated from others due to this but her duty is to kill demons. She desires to not be alone, but her purpose outweighs her wishes. And that is because, she is a hero.

...

I'm taking a break atm but I just finished Diamond Is Not Crash.

Who else /kawakami/ here?

Parallel World Pharmacy.

Translation is super slow as fuck, though.

Also, Tilea's Worries isn't really wish fulfillment.

The good guys and the bad guys equally suffer but so far the good guys are taking quite a beating in suffering.

Well there is Hyouketsu Kyoukai no Eden.

Translation died at Volume 7 Chapter 3, though.

I need to get around to those sometime, just been too lazy.

I disagree. The bad guys are suffering more in comparison. The good and innocent faceless masses get off with only being oppressed, but the bad guys tend to suffer more. Or are you separating "good guys" and "bad guys" by non-demons and demons?

Just began reading this. It's pretty good if not a bit cliched. Can anyone help adjust my expectations?

Don't expect anything huge is all I can say. But it's very consistent and if you already dig it the next vols are even better.

outdated

some faggot translated 2 chapters and stopped

They're not going to read themselves.

Obligatory shieldpost

Whats a good way to read LN's on Tablets? Using the pdf reader is just awful and I can't seem to find the best settings for calibre to transfer into epub, they all turn out funky.

Is there any place that has translated LN's into epubs?

Exactly that volume, i like to read on thing at a time

Finished She Professed Herself Pupil of The Wise Man 1 and Kuma Kuma Tai Bear 2 this past week.

The way scenes and actions are written in the former make it tricky parse some bits until more context is added some pages after but it's got an interesting enough plot hook. Mira's mad scientist tendencies seem like they'll make for a good read later on.

2nd of the bloody bear's book still reads really plainly but the volume's bonus chapters are significantly better at conveying characterization. I'm wondering how far into the WN did the author have to write out before his writing starts looking like that. Vol 3's prose finally starts resembling properly thought out writing though.

Now moving onto Qualidelia Code's Kanagawa-side prequel LNs. I can see why the DAL LNs are as popular as they are with the way he writes scenes. Plot seems pretty interesting too going by the illustrations.

Just finished reading Pluto.
Deciding if i should read Beck or Crows next.

Reading Murenase Shiiton Gakuen. I like the comedy and the animal trivias really well. Also the male MC is great

Akuyaku Reijo Ni Koi Wo Shite, average Japanese guy wakes up in the body of a half dead young boy in a fantasy world, and ends up the servant of two noble kids, except as you'd expect there's a twist

The fantasy world is an Otome game, and his young masters are, well not in the right side, to put it lightly
It's the first Isekai I've read since their synopsis usually don't interest me, but I like MC trying to be the best damned servant he can be

SENPAI

is this good

Pretty good so far

obviously Re:Zero and Katahane no Riku attack the wish fulfillment parts of the genre

Reading Gabriel Dropout

first high school SoL I read in awhile. All the characters are delicious though demons > angels

TMW and ISSTH

I used to think the same as you when Gabriel was still the only angel but Raphael is just the best.

Anyway, anyone know of some WNs with good fight scenes? Something on the level of this is fine
ncode.syosetu.com/n1222ci/
The title, as I understand it, is Black Summoner ~Battle Maniac's Rise~. The earlier "boss fights" were quite to my liking up until they fight the demon insect guy who was watching over the previous demon king's daughter who was put in suspended animation and subsequently entered the MC's harem after the battle. After that, it was still alright, but lacking a bit in intensity.

Someone once recommended Goblin Kingdom to me. Caught up to it, didn't really like the fights, but still reading since it's not bad enough for me to stop. Goblin Kingdom just puts too much emphasis on "the fight is really intense, hard, and desperate", but it's lacking in PRESENTATION and special chuuni effects. I like characters just fighting against each other with pure skill too without any special techniques (though GK does have that kind of stuff), but the battles are just too lackluster in description for me.

imo dd is a better read than mg, idk if you've already checked it, but id recommend it

It's still wish fulfillment of a sort. It all depends on how broadly you define "wish fulfillment" to be. Is it simply having everything go the MC's way with barely any danger at all? How about a hint of it? Perhaps the MC is challenged by troubles equal to his current rate of progress? Even being in despairing circumstances can be wish fulfillment if the MC is portrayed as being hardy and persevering; there are people that like to imagine that they're that strong mentally when push comes to shove. So where does the line end and begin here?

If you don't know if he's already checked it or not, how would he know what DD even stands for?

ISSTH is probably the only chinkshit that I ever see actually praised by more than one person

reading LLS but the pacing is now all over the place where you don't even know who the Yue Yang is fighting and why (well I guess "why" is usually explained with "he's with the demons")

History's Number 1 Founder is enjoyable mostly for the MC. Lin Feng is a god of the poker face (wish history's number 1 senior brother got translated though).

Was reading Sankarea, Umisho and Inu Neko Jump at the same time. Now I only have 3 volumes of Umisho. Easily the weakest of his.

I honestly can't remember a single thing from Umisho.

Rook tries to go the wish fulfillment route but that only got Riku slaughtering his harem.

Re:Zero and Kuro no Maou MIGHT be wish fulfillment later but now it's just MC suffering. If people say Berserk isn't wish fulfillment then these aren't (in the vein of everytime MC is close to happiness it gets taken away from him).

It didn't have much of a plot too remember (the dilemma of "MC can't swim" was practically solved off-screen)

though I found it more likable than Sankarea and INJ
