Hey, what do I know, I just lurk these threads from time to time, I hardly know what you guys get up to.

But it seems to me that the point they're making is that the nature of a 3x3 thread encourages homogeneity, rather than celebrating individual tastes. That the process of judging the taste of others inherently encourages them to fall in line with the groupthink of the 3x3 zeitgeist.

Of course you could rebut that 3x3 threads are about finding common ground, and when you tell somebody you don't like one of their choices it's about a discourse describing how your tastes differ rather than a correction to their flawed taste. That if a person were to be swayed to alter their own taste by something as arbitrary as somebody else disagreeing with them, then they're weak-minded and would be rooted out by the group. That if the ideal 3x3 were in fact the aggregation of what is culturally acceptable in these threads then fakes like the ones here wouldn't be so obvious. That having an individual voice is just as important.

And one could argue in return that that sort of thing has historically proven to only breed a higher order of pretending "intellectuals." That those same weak-minded individuals will monkey-see, monkey-do until they have established a 3x3 which is both seen as artistically valid while also being distinct in its identity, without ever actually venturing on the introspection required to really understand one's own taste.

I know what the original purpose of the youtuber was. What I don't understand is why someone would keep posting it. 1. I added Gorg to my 3x3 about a year ago, it's a ridiculously fun adventure cartoon.
2. I left Haibane out, and there are a handful of other shows that I could happily swap out for the entries in my middle column.
3. 436 completed franchises in my .txt file - something as short as Cat Shit One counts for '1', but that's balanced out because I also only count '1' for Space Battleship Yamato which includes 3 tv seasons, several films, and the 2199 reboot.

8/8 but they're all safe choices
