Despite the horridly abundant use of flashbacks and a tad too much stock footage, I thought it was a pretty satisfying series. The show really started to shine in the second half when it stopped being a lesser clone of 0079, despite the villains becoming a little cartoonishly evil. I don't really understand why it's so vehemently loathed by so many.
worst Gundam series. I really like its World War 2 ambiance tho but its just so gay like it's aimed for girls or smthng
Justin Taylor
It made Normalfags unable to tolerate Hiraiface and thus saved many fun and interesting shows from the cancerous infestation and ruination by that blight.
It's not a good show at all, but god bless it for it protecting good shows from retards.
Brody White
SEED is okay, Destiny is trash.
Ian Miller
It's not that bad, at least the first season.
I like it more than the more recent AUs if only by virtue of the suits alone.
Levi Ward
I liked it even though it wasn't anything amazing, I belive most of the worse hate it gets is retroactively from Destiny, which is as much of a abomination as people make it out to be.
Carson Cruz
It was decent.
The romance was trash, the stock footage was trash, Jesus Yamato's return was trash, but the mechas were cool, and the story was alright.
David Sanders
Cagalli was cute
Caleb Martin
It's garbage on so many levels— but it was pioneering as retooling the franchise to target the fujo demographic, and it saved the franchise and paved the way for the dark and terrible bastion of stupid that gundam has become.
It's the worst parts of shoujo forced drama bullshit delivered with the trappings of an old 80s shonen series. Character motivations are either laughably one-dimensional (I will blindly hold a frothing hate them forever and ever because they are [trait]), or their actions are dominated by the their most immediate and superficial emotions. That's not even counting the frequent use of complete asspull writing that somehow managed to make the franchise's predecessors, never a bastion of reason, seem downright logical and grounded.
Ryan Evans
Easily the worst series in all of Gundam. Even G-Gundam is less retarded than SEED or especially SEED: Destiny.
Henry Cruz
SEED was the definition of average.
Destiny was actually pretty thrilling up until it shit the bed in its last quarter. I went into it thinking that it would be a twist-an-episode trainwreck like Valvrave but it didn't get bad until later on. Durandal was a much better villain than the Char clone in SEED.
John Butler
Conversely, it also protected normalfags from the horrors of Olynssis and the Linebarrels anime.
John Long
Well, I like that it spawned the strike freedom in 'seed destiny'. It's my favorite Gundam in terms of aesthetics.
Julian Turner
Only gundam thread up, and since its about seed, i know its a waste. So i thought i would ask here.
Whats the diffrence between Thunderbolt ONA and Thunderbolt December Sky?
Is it just a recut or a butchering?
Tyler Murphy
>This piece of garbage was a massive success >Yet Turn A was mostly ignored in it's time
Julian Collins
Are there any webms or videos with the worst scenes of Seed? I'm kinda curios on how bad are some of the scenes but don't want to download a shitty anime just for this.
Blake Torres
Is Gundam any actually any good or is it simply giant robot porn?
Jayden Davis
I just couldn't get invested in any of the characters. It's a really bland show.
Ian Morales
7/10, better than the shit okada hacked up on IBO. Also, IBO a shit.
Robert Gonzalez
>The show really started to shine in the second half when it stopped being a lesser clone of 0079 This was SEED's biggest mistake. It was completely fine when it stole from 0079 but when the training wheels came off the writing went to complete ass. The quality descends rapidly after Kira's "death" and it keeps getting worse and worse. Mechs are good tho.
You won't get the full picture of how shit SEED is unless you actually watch it but this is really funny and stupid: youtube.com/watch?v=tWjfbUfcJUM
Nicholas Reed
Turn A didn't have flashy new (at the time) digital animation and dumb melodrama.
Chase King
Why wont Okawara learn to draw?
Nolan Bell
The best
Tyler Jones
Shame they turned her into an unlikable bitch in Destiny.
Jackson King
Despite how little respect I have for it, I have an absolutely inexplicable fondness for SEED. Strike Justice felt so monstrous and the stupidly dramatic bits like whats-her-face confronting Kira after he lets her boyfriend die were oddly delicious. Kira-Arthrun was always a fun rivalry too, as devoid of substance as it was.
I dunno, I get the appeal.
Benjamin Hughes
Hoshi Souichiro sells that tripe pretty well. Can't fault the man.
Jose Powell
Some of the MS were pretty cool, shame that the animation was recycled and lazy all the time..
Ethan Taylor
The movie has added scenes
William Bailey
Lazy animation and overpowered MC Yamato. Destiny was even worse
Colton Rogers
After the disaster that IBO was SEED actually doesn't look that bad.
Adam Barnes
>stopped being a lesser clone of 0079
Nicholas Gomez
How bad was IBO?
Jonathan Hughes
What happened?
Asher Myers
It's an extremely promising series up until episode 7. From episode 8 onwards it stumbles and starts rolling downhill, and by the end of the Brewers arc becomes irredeemable. The characters are mind-numbingly flat, especially Kudelia who we're supposedly meant to view as someone who changes through the show despite her staying the same throughout. Mika is so dull he makes Eggs from A.Z look like a developed character. The only character we ever get any reason to root for is Gaelio, the local Garma. The writing is filled with exposition, repeating the same things multiple times and characters always saying their intentions regardless of whether it fits the scene or not (most likely due to the backlash to G-Reco's lack of exposition and somewhat overt reliance on show, don't tell). The pacing is guts-on-a-boat level, the action sometimes devolves into YEAAAAART, although there are some cases where the fighting is nice in creative, but I only remember them from the aforementioned 1-7 episode stretch. The MS designs are great though. The worst thing is, I wouldn't be as mad about the show if I hated it for the sake of hating it. But I genuinely loved the start and defended it in the threads on both Sup Forums and /m/ when people complained about the pacing. tl;dr Broken hopes and shattered dreams is what's bad about IBO
Hudson Robinson
Damn. The premise seemed promising, so I'd definitely planned on enjoying it in a couple months.
Robert Howard
Watch it anyway, then join us for S2's threads. Should be a marked improvement since Kudelia's going to stay on Earth and hopefully never be seen or heard from again while Tekkadan goes back into space.
Easton Howard
Obviously flawed, but I still quite enjoyed it. Even Destiny.
I suspect watching it at the same time Aldnoah part 2 was airing helped make Destiny look much better in comparison.
Adrian Parker
Easily the worst Gundam series I watched. SEED had potential but it ends up wasted. LOL SEED Destiny was just pure unadulterated garbage especially when the main character role gets usurped by Kira that I didn't bother finishing it.
It was a miracle that the series was popular enough that Kira and Lacus was a consist presence of the character popularity polls in Newtype for over a DECADE.
The only good about SEED was the OP/ED music. The music was great. TM Revolution and Nami Tamaki delivered some great songs for the series.
Connor Taylor
It's pretty bad, but I do not agree with it as worst Gundam series. That title belongs to AGE.
Lucas Davis
I agree. Just finished AGE a couple weeks ago and it was okay on Gen 1 and it was getting better on Gen 2, but then Gen 3 starts and all goes straight to shit. The pacing was atrocious. Fucking Level 5.
Ethan Mitchell
Incredibly average, now Seed Destiny, that's a piece of shit that has horror stories of its clusterfuck of a production.
Dominic Powell
>despite the villains becoming a little cartoonishly evil. Reminder that Full Frontal was also driven by muh nihilism.
Carson Jones
>You will never have a cute tomboy sister why live?
Charles Ramirez
Turn A was comfy, though it sort of got stupid in the end because the crew remembered that since it's a mecha show they need a flashy and big final conflict.
Samuel Morales
Just watch 0079, Zeta, 8th MS, War in the pocket, Igloo if you can stand CG, Stardust Memories, ZZ, Char's Counterattack and Unicorn.
Leo Long
...
Jordan Richardson
It was very in the middle of the road to me. Like i wouldn't go out of my way to watch it, but I didn't hate it.
Destiny is such an amazing clusterfuck that it makes the first show look much worse than it actually is.
Andrew Ortiz
It's great.
Kayden Wright
Name a better Gundam design
Jack Wright
Easy.
Zachary Bennett
>Unicorn
Charles Kelly
>Linebarrel >Hiraiface I actually don't see it.
Brody Reed
I want to see rule 34 of them together.
Hudson Bennett
Strike freedom
Jayden Smith
As bad as SEED was, at least it resulted in Stargazer.
Gabriel Ramirez
Post the rest.
Logan Jones
Destiny was such a mess. SeeD is a guilty pleasure of mine, but just thinking about destiny makes me want to hurt myself
Benjamin Foster
That's the only one I have.
Dylan Bailey
There are many good things about Seed. Blue cosmos, druggies, Mwu and Rau, tiddies captain and her actually competent vice captain, mecha/vehicle design and more.
Ayden Ortiz
Anyone have that image of a Super Robot Wars game where everyone shits on Jesus Yamato when he shows up in a fight?
