MANGA ENDINGS ARE USUALLY SHIT

Right lads.

Why are the Japs so bad at ending shit. Just finished Akumetsu which has been on my backlog for a while and I really enjoyed, but the neding fucking sucked and it's got me all mad about how other manga have ended. Are Japs just shit at wrapping up stories?

Bumping this shit cos I'm mad as fug.

You only ask this because you are woefully unaware how serialized manga publishing works. Manga chapters are written as long as there is popularity and dropped when there isn't. This makes it nigh impossible to write sane and coherent endings for the most part.

I liked Bokuranos ending

That's usually the truth also with other mediums like western videogames

This.

Manga endings are usually shit, because ENDINGS are usually shit. Any story that takes more than a couple hours to tell is not a single story anymore, and most comic books and TV shows don't claim to be. They're a compilation of stories and they are about the journey, not the destination.

When do they end? When no one wants to listen anymore. What happens at the end is meaningless. I get so triggered by all the autists who talk about how they just wish Berserk would end or just wish One Piece would end. This isn't Citizen fucking Kane, you're reading weekly/monthly genre fiction with people punching fireballs at each other and shit. The over arching story is: "I'm gonna' draw shit and hopefully kids give me money for it." You can drop them whenever you want and will lose nothing. I dropped Fairy Tail when Mashima farted out an AU arc. I dropped Soul Eater at the start of the finale, because I just wasn't interested anymore. Dropped D.Gray-man when it suddenly became about that ponytail faggot's dead friend and the Homuncu- oh, uh...the Noahs suddenly multiplied for no reason. They also became like only vaguely evil for no reason. Stopped reading Reborn when they failed to defeat Byakuran for like the third time. Dropped Vinland Saga when 2edgy4me Thorfinn decided to be a farmer and just watch girls get raped. Dropped Claymore when something was happening, I'm not gonna' pretend to remember what.

ZERO REGRETS! It's not about "muh resolution." They're fucking Saturday morning cartoons.

>Shonen manga ending are shit
Fixed that for you

Bokurano's ending was top tier, because Bokurano was an actual good manga and Akumetsu was edgy shounenshit by the Wolf Guy duo.

Death note and Zetsubou Sensei ended well. Overall good all over.

Death note did suffer last half, but it ended well.

Literally every other justification in this thread was better than this one

rape zombie apocalypse

Why was Naruto allowed a good ending? That goes against the system. Naruto is the most milked shit out there.

A man of taste

>"I'm gonna' draw shit and hopefully kids give me money for it."
I think thats the real reason, at least for me. It just doesn't feel like a story and feels like a bunch of characters bumping into each other and fighting. At least in kuroshitsuji you get the characters acting smug as fuck and the arcs actually have a point and come to a conclusive ending.
Maybe I'm fooling myself. Its just dumb fun, maybe I overthought everything.

because manga end when they are cancelled, not when the author wants to end them

The problem is theu write a solid self contained story that becomes super popular and then have some half assed ideas for rest and it goes to shit as he tries to exrend its popularity for more money amd editors want a character with a scarf because its popular at the time and he cant kill a fan favourite like he wanted to originally because of money and it keeps going on like this til no one cares and he has to wrap it up in 5 chapters.

...

mangafags, everyone

>I liked the ending cant say I don't wish for a sequel.

>Why was Naruto allowed a good ending?
>good ending

...

Fuck you user.

>Naruto allowed a good ending
>good ending
>good

In what fucking way?

Goddamn, if it weren't for the fucking artist being a bitch and waling out this series could have been awesome

I agree OP but there are a good chunk of manga with excellent endings. Fullmetal Alchemist and Yugioh come to mind when I think of great endings. Also devil man ends in a great way. I recommend all these manga if you haven't read them. Some of the best in the overcrowded shonen genre.

The Hall of Anal Devastation? That was a pretty good ending to Naruto.

Since this series will never get a sequel, it couldn't have ended on a better note. Though open ended, it's fairly obvious who won.

>shonen genre
>genre

This is why I like my moe blobs more. Low expectations because nips can't write for shit. Anything that seem cool and interesting will eventually turn to shit after years of following.

>Love Hina
>Umi no Misaki
>Wakusei no samidare aka Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer

>Why are the Japs so bad at ending shit

It's not just the japs. A lot of authors are terrible at ending because they don't plan for it, or they don't stick to their plans.

Japs and Americans especially will just stretch a story on forever as long as it's popular, only ending it when it falls out of favor but by that point it's completely impossible to wrap things up. Over long stories also have terrible escalation, usually.

The Brits are better at sticking to a plan, usually. But most good authors know that you don't go past a trilogy following the same cast, setting and event. If you want to keep one of these things past the trilogy, the other aspects must change drastically.

Normally before you even start writting your story, you should have written up guidelines for how it starts, how it ends and a few "milestone" events along the way. Once that's done, your creative writing is what fills in the blanks between these. Any author that doesn't stick his plan ends up with shit.

What often happens with long shounen series is that they end due to their popularity fading, rather than a natural story conclusion, which leads to rushed endings.

Well, either that or the author just wanting to move on from weekly manga, like what happened with Dragonball.

Fullmetal Alchemist and Assassination classroom did end well.

That's a great way to justify laziness and cynicism

Better than Narutaru's rushed but hilariously stupid ending.

>Any story that takes more than a couple hours to tell is not a single story anymore
How about reading a book, you dumb faggot?

Are you retarded? Akumetsu is probably the least guilty of shit endings out there, it fits perfectly with the message that's sending about people taking action
But yeah Japan is shit at endings, really shit, I guess it's because there is no real outrage in the country for it? Japs keep buying garbage from mediocre authors who finished their long ass series with a retarded ending

>How about reading a book, you dumb faggot?

Half of books is descriptions. Most book stories aren't actually that long.

The mask design is great. Best part of the series.

This is accurate.

People complaint about it because ending actually exist, unlike capeshits that never end

I liked how the MC literally bitch slapped the planet

I think you should try reading more. Also, moeblob SoL is usually really underwhelming in manga form.

That's not true, what I noticed, however, is that pretty much all the series I dropped happens to be pretty popular with the west, which also happens to have shitty endings all the time. (Negima, TWOGK, Kenichi, Punpun, Wolf Guy, Eden no Ori, Future Diary, Gantz etc)

All of those had ridiculously foreseeable bad ends though. Apart from maybe TWOGK, which I actually had some expectations of.

It was underwhelming and the moral was never properly resolved. One man one kill is a shit philosophy.

>punpun
>bad end

i can see how some people could not like that ending, but that's what the author wanted to write. the publisher didn't tell him to cancel it or anything

>Kenichi
>Wolf Guy
>Eden no Ori
>Future Diary
>Gantz
The ending wasn't even close to the only issue with these, they were just fucking bad manga.

Romance, ecchi, and harem endings usually suck shit too.

I like Yomeiro Choice

Fuck off, asano didn't know what he wanted to write. Pegasus was LITERALLY filler content because he didn't know how to fill the whole story just about punpun.

"lol pegaus was actually serious XD" while not the focus of the ending, is literally one of the worst attributes of any manga I've ever read.

Plus most people agree that the last 1/4 of the series was generally downhill. A lot of their choices did not make a lot of sense after leaving town, even with both of their extremely damaged minds.

that's the point
It's not that manga usually have shit ending, it's just that you keep reading shit manga

What is this? Can't find it on my own. Thank you

Veritas.

So basically what you're saying is that Jojo is one of the best Manga out there by virtue of it's Parts?

To be fair veritas wasn't japanese right?

It was a manhwa

a lot of fucking manhwa end badly

Look at Is, Prince 1/2, Yureka, Veritas, etc/

Akumetsu was already shit far before it ever ended.

>discussion about the ending
>admits Pegasus was not the ending
>still complains about Pegasus

I'm always fucking shocked when I read about a manga ending whose anime I watched in the 90s or something.

It just becomes sad.
