I have some complaints about the series but the sphere of it all was just GOAT.

All of the stories (main and episodic) had a satisfying conclusion.
All characters went through development and found their resolve/admitted their sins/confessed.
And the themes of the show were greatly explored.

The final scene where Casshern appears to Luna and promises her that she will always be the shadow of death is one of the few in anime that seriously startled me.
The way his image appears suddenly, without warning or explanation after he already left, accompanied by his demonic scream was terrifying. It really hit the right spot.

It's a gorgeous series, the art (colouring in particular), designs, OST and atmosphere were all godly. It had a very bleak, depressing feel but the overall message was really nice.
