I'm not even going to lie, when I first saw Favaro I thought it was a buff woman. He's got some strong DSL.

Gotta respect Cygames. Privately funding an extremely expensive anime and giving the staff almost complete creative freedon is in itself almost unthinkable in this industry. But even after having presumably lukewarm returns (judging from the low BD sales and the fact that the game seems to be on it's way out), instead of packing up and betting on a more conventional adaptation, they instead laser-locked on the problems (the series structure, which simultaneously made the fun adventure-y episodes too few and the main storyline too rushed) and fixed those (by making it 2 cour and changing the writer, plus letting her write every episode) whithout punishing everybody else who did a great job.
And it's probably costing them even more than before.

I really liked the first half, but the anime lost its charm as it went on. First three eps are GOAT, though.

I was hoping that because of Favaro seemingly being sidelined in the character lineup, it might indicate that he has interests in getting her back that pits him against the new mc + friends. Kaiser vs Favaro again.

But some of the new stills from concept art or manga shows Favaro without a tail so chances feel even more slim.

Worse I feel is if the new girl is somehow Amira's quasi-reincarnation "virgin soul".

I remember the threads on Sup Forums when it first aired, it was pretty popular back then. I guess not many people are talking about now since they've either forgotten about it or ran out of things to talk about. There'll be a lot of discussion once season 2 is out though. They are going to air shorts before the second season, so the soonest we'll get it is Winter if the shorts air this fall, but I doubt it.

Like others have said, when the anime was focusing on prophesies and the end of the world, it was losing most of its charm. I don't want to throw around the buzzword "generic", but it just didn't interest me.

Season 2 looks fun though.

It caught me off at first since it was so unusual for an MC design, but I ended up loving him. For one he wasn't some spineless brown/black haired nip that seems to be the MC of majority of anime these days. Even though he's not part of the main cast for S2, I can't wait to see him again.

I think most of the characters were pretty likeable. Favaro and Kaisar both profitted from their dynamic with each other and Rita's dynamic with Kaisar was fun too.
Rather than being fun of their own they are fun because they interact with each other. That's what really makes a likeable cast for me

I never picked this up throughout the entire series. While their "romance" kind of came out of nowhere I thought it was cute and that there was nothing wrong with it.

For some reason people still think Amira is a five year old which is why they didn't like that kiss. But that story was made up by the villain, she's really a clone of her "mother".

The series was fun, but I think to have an even bigger fanbase it would need to have been driven by an annoying ubermensch, instead of a ragtag team of goofs. It wouldn't have been fun anymore.

Doesn't being a clone makes her even less than that? They didn't copy her mother's mind or experience. At the start of her existance Amira was literally a newborn. I won't mind it if they mature her up a bit, but as of now she's way too childish to have any kind of relationship.
