A man has been accused of torturing his girlfriend’s eight-year-old son to death because he thought he was gay.
Isauro Aguirre allegedly doused Gabriel Fernandez in pepper spray, forced him to eat his own faeces and vomit and stubbed cigarettes out on his skin, The Sun reports.
The 37-year-old is also accused of beating the boy with a bat and shooting him with a BB gun along with Gabriel’s mum Pearl Fernandez in Los Angeles.
His defence lawyer John Allan said his client had admitted murder but denies torturing the schoolboy, according to LA broadcaster KTLA5.
Little Gabriel was tortured by Aguirre and Fernandez, 34, over the course of eight months in 2013, prosecutors say.
Aguirre also allegedly forced the boy to dress up in girls’ clothes before going to school and didn’t like him because he thought he was gay.

The youngster was also made to sleep tied up in a small cabinet with a sock shoved in his mouth and a bandana over his face.
An autopsy found cat litter and animal hair in the boy’s stomach and a shrunk thymus gland “from being starved”.
Gabriel was just 4ft 1 ins and weighed just four stone, while hulking 6ft 2 ins security guard Aguirre tips the scales at 19 stone.
Texts were also shown to the jury on Monday which the prosecution claimed show Aguirre and Fernandez had conspired to torture and murder Gabriel and then cover it up.

This is an example of how people write things to make the unaware walk away with a conclusion they want them to have even though it is not true.
Man killed girlfriend's eight-year-old son = this is a singular fact, the man did indeed kill the 8 year old son of his girlfriend. It looks to be something that it is not in contention.
'because he thought he was gay' = this is a second statement and also standalone. It has nothing to do with the first statement and it most likely a quote from a longer statement.
Then at the bottom "a court has heard." = it went to court, doesn't really mean anything else.
But,.. if you casually read through these few statements you can walk away with "A man killed his girlfriend's kid because he thought he was gay and he was convicted in court."
It is not surprising that people write this way, it has been going on forever, it is just sad that at some point this will be brought up and argued about as if it were a fact.
Which, hell, it might end up being the actual truth and the guy is a total piece of shit but it doesn't excuse the deliberately misleading writing style.

Well, if all sins are equal weight, a whole lot of people that post here are going to be getting tortured alongside those gays for masturbation, looking at porn (coveting neighbor's wife/adultery), and a shitload of other "minor" offenses.
The only reason being gay is a sin is because ALL SEX, whether its by yourself (masturbation) or with others (sodomy, adultery, etc), is a sin unless its between two people who have been married in the eyes of the Lord. Since the Church wouldn't allow gays to be married in holy matrimony, this meant it was always a sin. But the times are achanging--- and if your religion suddenly starts giving them God's blessing, married sex between two people of the same sex (who are married to each other) will not be a sin. Go figure.
